Ionic, a great option for fuel efficiency, comfort and performance

I thoroughly enjoy this ionic. It has been a good car to this point and at 34,000 miles has only needed scheduled maintenance and one alignment. The styling one of the strengths of this vehicle as is the comfort of the interior. it is well laid out and everything is within easy reach of the driver.

Hyundai Ioniq

Excellent choice! Great mileage! I love driving it! I commute daily and I love it! ❤️ I'll recommend it anytime. Wonder why there is not much advertising of it on TV or internet! As one of my friends says, I'll keep it until it dies!

In Love

I love the car but not so much the communication. Hyundai is a little enthusiastic in their GPM claims but not by much; my overall mileage is around 52mpg. I drove from lower Alabama to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a distance of more than 1400 mile and back, all highway;48 mpg.

2018 Ioniq

Once my commute went from 4 miles a day to 80, I needed a more fuel efficient car. Shopped around and found the Ioniq. Without hyper-miling the car, I’m averaging 58.8mpg. The interior is comfortable as well. The only negative is road noise. It’s not obnoxious, but it’s higher than it should be.

Great value, trouble-free EV

For the price, especially after government incentives, this is a great first EV experience. I love that the higher-end model feels like driving a near-luxury sedan and not like a golf cart. No need to spend more to ride the California carpool lanes in comfort. My commute is 43 miles each way and I charge at work. It's a cinch.

Great choice!

We are so pleased with our car. A difficult choice between the more expensive ionic and our mid level price. The mileage was the big choice. I’m thrilled with the mileage do glad we didn’t get the heavier car.

great choice

I am very pleased with the 50 to 55 mpg. Also very surprised with the amount of power with the drivetrain in excelleration and ability to merge with moving traffic. I would and have recommended this vehicle to family and friends.

Very Happy Ionic owner

I use my vehicle for Rideshare meaning it is quite demanding. I'm very Happy with the service of the dealership I purchased it from and it has been an excellent vehicle giving me an average of 54 mpg. Smooth handling! I can't think of anything I don't like about it!

My Review

Excellent Vehicle. I had not considered the Ioniq before I went to the dealership but it is a good fit for me and my driving needs. It is smaller than what I am used to but it makes it up in savings for me.

40k Miles and still going strong

The Hyundai Ioniq I purchased from Freehold Hyundai last may is still running flawlessly. In a little over one year I have driven my vehicle 40k+ miles and plan on owning it for 10 years or roughly 350k miles. As of today my car has not had a single issue and feels as good to drive as it did the first mile I drove it. It handles very well in all precipitation. It is a comfortable car to drive in, however, my passengers have complained about leg room. I highly recommend getting the intermediate model due to its slightly upgraded interior and controls.

Great value with little improvement needed

I have no complaints about this car with the exception of the rearview mirror. I like the styling of the dashboard and the power is surprisingly good for a small engine. The road noise is much quieter than the Toyota Prius which added to the deciding factor since I do most of my driving on the highway. A very comfortable ride too.

Great idea and good execution for the most part

I want to love my Ioniq because it drives so well and I really enjoy commuting to work in all electric mode but having the hybrid mode for longer driving on weekends. Unfortunately some steering and engine issues have come up before reaching 7,000 miles. The steering wheel started sticking at the center (neutral) position at higher speeds, and then a creaking noise when turning at very low speed started. After two service visits (one for steering and a very recent one for the engine issue) these steering issues have abated. The very recent engine issue required two weeks to diagnose and repair (partly because a specialized part had to be ordered), and in the process of the diagnosis and repair it was found that the engine oil was overfilled (a complete surprise to me because I had not had oil change work done yet) and specks of metal were observed in the oil while it was being changed (service staff suggested this was leftover from the engine manufacturing process). I'm really hoping that these are rare and unlucky kinks in an otherwise good and reasonably priced plug-in hybrid car concept and execution.

I chose wisely

I drive an average of 100 miles a day for work. I needed a new car that had amazing fuel economy, looked nice and didn't cost an arm & a leg. I researched vehicles that got the best mileage and the Ioniq was on the short list of cars I liked. Online research can only take you so far, so I checked out my local dealerships inventory and they had the exact model and year I wanted! I went in first thing the next morning and checked the car out. It was great. There were a few things that I didn't need but found beneficial and made the car an even better value to me such as rear folding seats, heated seats, and power seats. I'm SO happy with my purchase. I highly recommend the Hyundai Ioniq!

Sporty, Efficient, Dependable, Affordable, Comfortable

Ioniq intuitively gets over 52 mpg. Driving sensibly easily gets you 55 mpg or more. Handles well. Interior is nicely Iaid out and comfortable despite limited space! The car feels and looks sporty. The price is nice compared to many hybrids. Offers value and performance in a small, efficient package with unbeatable guarantees that provide peace of mind!

Ioniq review

I bought the Ioniq for the mileage. It does not disappoint. Around the city, I have averaged 60 mpg for some fill ups. The worst mpg I got in town was 56 mpg. Even when I push it hard on the Interstates for trips I averaged 48 mpg. The Ioniq is a little lower than my previous hybrid, so that makes it a little more difficult to get in and out of the car. Once in, everything is great. All of the controls are simple to control and easy to access. Acceleration is only so-so, but the car is not built for that. So far, no mechanical problems whatsoever. It is a great little car.

Transmission

I still don't understand how the dual shift works or when to use it. I would like to have a different back window with a wiper. My next car will also have a sun/moon roof. Love the car otherwise. Great gas mileage

Best hybrid

Best highbred on the market. Up to 62 miles per gallon. More efficient than a Prius, faster than a Prius, cheaper than Prius, and bigger than a Prius. Great to have the ability to drive it like a manual transmission.

An amazing commuter vehicle

I drive about 700 miles a week so I needed maximum fuel economy but still wanted room for 4/5 passengers or a large cargo area (with rear seats folded down). The Ioniq gives me all of that and more. If I am driving “aggressively” I will get 48-49 mpg... If I am mindful of my driving habits I will get as high as 58mpg. Vehicle has plenty of room, rides nice has plenty of tech and is, in my opinion, better looking than the Prius. I have the middle trim level and at $25,000 feel like this car is a tremendous value. In hindsight I wish I had spent the extra $2000 for the top of the line version for the leather seats. The material on my seats can be frustrating to clean but other than that this car is amazing at its price point.

Love My Ioniq!

55 miles per gallon on every tankful of gas in the last year! I fill up so infrequently that I keep forgetting where the gascap door release button is. Smooth ride. Don't even hear the engine, but the engine has excellent pickup and power for a hybrid. This is the main advantage it has over a Prius. Very comfortable. Might not be for tall people, though. I'm 5'8" and I've hit my head a few times getting out of the car.

2018 Hyundia Ioniq

Great functionality all wrapped up in a sleek design with great mileage. Sporty look that turns head as you cruise down the road on full electric power. when needed, paddle shift down to pass a vehicle with a surge of power from the gas engine as you shift up to maintain your speed.
