I love my Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, it is a good vehicle , it is reliable and very affordable on gas, zero defects.

I am already planning on my next Hyundai, I am a Realtor, I drive a whole lot. I can not see myself driving any other vehicle other than Hyundai, I need a 100% reliable vehicle and I got it with Hyundai. Their warranties are the best, they cover much more than the 3 Toyota's I own in the past. I have not used any of the warranties but, knowing that these are available, it gives me peace of mind.

Good vehicle for price and gas mileage.

Ride height and smooth transition between the engine and electric motor are the two most concerning factors. Scrape the bottom with just doing in city driving. No spare tire. Small amount of road noise but nothing that is overbearing or headache inducing. Once going the acceleration is smooth, but from a full stop the transfer between the electric motor and engine is too long and seems to lose power. Once the engine kicks in it is a very speedy and smooth ride. The gas mileage is mind blowing. I feel safe in this vehicle. Handling is excellent under normal or wet conditions, but you will need snow tires if it snows where you live. It is a very light vehicle. Tech is great, as well as the interior. Dash is not cluttered. There is also plenty of room in the trunk for our family of 4 to take it on a trip, and fit 4 suitcases as well as toys, food, etc. For a smaller looking car it does have an exceptional amount of space inside. Overall pretty satisfied with this vehicle.

Great value

I love this car. It gets great gas mileage and has an impressive warranty. I will buy again. This is my second Hyundai. I’m disappointed that there is no rear cover inside and no spare tire. I also miss having a CD player. Heated seats are nice along with a sun roof.

The best car I’ve ever owned.

The Ioniq is the first hybrid I’ve ever owned, and my god do I love it. I usually average anywhere from 55-60 mpg while still having oomph if I need it. It’s not slow to accelerate, does excellent on the highway, and is always a smooth driving experience. Even when I do long-distance road trips (~700 miles each way) I average in the high 40s for mpg. Would highly recommend this car to a friend. My only suggestion to Hyundai is if someone wants the upgraded package to let them still get cloth seats. Leather sucks in Texas and other desert states.

Great for travel and safety!

I bought this car because I travel and wanted to save on gas while still having reliability. Great price, I will be upgrading after I pay this one off! This sentence should get me over 200 characters.

Hybrid cars

The gas to miles ratio is amazing. Best for distance drivers who commute for work or like taking long road trips. The small 4 door is perfect for a small family. It also hauls things if packed properly.

Great car for commuting

Bought this car new from local dealership. It has over 18000 on it now and has been problem free. I am pleased with how Hyundai has followed up on my purchase with periodic surveys. The service department talks to me about what needs to be serviced and why. I would buy this car again. My husband was so impressed with the Hyundai experience that he bought a Tucson in January 2020!

Failed Hybrid System

We put around 1,000 miles on it when the hybrid system failed. They couldn’t fix it. We are getting it bought back when the COVID problem is over. I would never buy another Hyundai after all The problems and delays we dealt with.

Nice vehicle for the price. Very nice interior. Comfortable, even on long trips. Excellent sound quality from the stereo. Only complaint is the fuel economy on highway is much lower than was advertised.

ioniq 2018

I purchased this with the one and only spec of high mpg in mind. The car is clearly made with the hypermiler in mind. Initial performance exceeded manufacturer's specifications although the mpg appear to be highly dependent on factors such as tire pressure and winter/summer gasoline mix. After the last tire rotation the mpg dropped abruptly by 10 mpg. The tires are of course advertized as being non-bias tires but it appears from this that there is a difference. There are some blind spot visibility issues which are not bad. It is nearly impossible to turn the car on and lock the doors while you leave it running to allow it to warm up before driving. You CAN turn it on and reach in from the rear door and manually lock the front doors and the rear one then close them all, and then you are locked out as the spare fob apparently will not work at this point. The only way to get in at this point if you have done this is to either open the rear hatch and crawl in or use the manual physical key in the fob. It would be nice if you could lock the car and leave it running. For a vehicle who's primary purpose is high mpg it is odd that there is no way to pull up an entire trip mpg average while you are driving. The average mpg shown on the screen while underway is actually only the average for the last thirty minutes or so. At the end of the trip when you turn the vehicle off it displays the trip average for a few seconds. Clearly the computer is keeping track of the total average so why not allow the user to see it on demand? Overall the vehicle highly exceeded all expectations. Mpg meets or exceeds manufacturer's stated specs, acceleration from 0 to 40 is impressive, traction and stability on ice is literally the best of any vehicle I've ever driven and the steering though responsive is not so responsive as to require too much concentration while on long trips. Additionally the use of manual seat and rear view mirror adjustment is a nod to weight saving and practical functionality rather than throwing gizmos in because you can.

I am already planning on my next Hyundai IONIQ HYBRID, I would not change Hyundai for nothing, I know it just gets better every time. I am happy that I do not have any issues with defectives parts as I did with Toyota.

An efficient hybrid that is fun to drive

When my '09 Prius died (battery failure and insidious rust) I checked out the Hyundai Ioniq. What a nice surprise, the car has as much interior space as my old Prius, but was much more lively to drive, and came with nice features that Toyota was not offering (Apple-CarPlay) as well as a 60,000 mile warranty and lifetime warranty on the lithium battery. I've frankly been extremely happy with this car. In spite of getting 10-15 mpg more than my old Prius (65 mpg in the summer is pretty typical) the car can get out of its own way, particularly if you use the sport mode setting. The dual-clutch transmission makes the car feel less like a golf cart than the variable speed transmission of the Prius. And every 600 miles when I refill with 9 gallons of gas, I smile.

Ioniq

This is a great value and provides supreme gas mileage performance as well as great electronic amenities.I use this car to commute to clients, including one client 90 miles from my office. I love the fact that I can get there averaging 58 MPG and being fully entertained by the technology.

I love my Ioniq and it is great on fuel. It has been 2 years since I bought it and it has saved on my fuel bill. I drive 160 miles round trip and it is comfortable to work and back. Would buy it again.

Ioniq beats the Prius

I had driven a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and was generally pleased with the care through more than 100,000 miles of California freeway driving; was intrigued by the Ioniq although a little concerned about size and comfort. Was pleasantly surprised by test drive - felt ample power to get on freeways and to pass as needed. After two years into lease the car has been better than expected - comfort is fine for typical 400-500 mile drives. mileage is as good as advertised and so far the hardware and fittings are holding firm as we encounter evry bump and pot hole and expansion joint on I 80 almost every day

ioniq

everything I expected and more. Hyundai did an excellent job designing the ioniq and when I'm looking in a few years for a replacement vehicle I would consider buying another ioniq. I really like to go to the gas station and purchase half the fuel that I need to purchase in my secondary vehicle.

2018 IONIQ

I’m surprised that others who own a Volt or a Prius don’t just dump their cars to own on of these Hyundai IONIQ models. How are these cars not heavily used by Uber and Lyft drivers? For that matter, govt fleet cars should all be IONIQ models. They get almost 60 mpg! No other car can beat it.

IONIQ OWNER REVIEW

WE ARE PLEASED WITH THE IONIQ. APPEARANCE IS MODERN AND APPEALING. COMFORT IS OK THOUGH MAYBE THE VEHICLE OR SEATING IS TO LOW TO MAKE ENTERING AND EXITING AS EASY AS IT SHOULD OR COULD BE. KEY SYTEM DOES NOT PREVENT MANUAL KEY FROM UNLOCKING AND COMING UNINTENTIONALLY SEPARATED FROM THE REMOTE THAT IT IS INCASED MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO LOSE REMOTE IF SEPARATION IS NOT NOTICE WHEN OCCURRING. NOISE OF FUEL ENGINE KICKING IN TAKES AWAY FROM ELOQUENCE OF THE CAR. CARGO COVER SHOULD BE AN AUTOMATIC PART OF CAR NOT A SEPARATE INVESTMENT. CUP HOLDERS ARE A LITTLE AWKWARD. WOULD THINK IN THIS DAY AND AGE THERE WOULD BE A PLACE TO HOLD A CEL PHONE ESPECIALLY DUE TO PHONE CONNECTION REQUIREMENT TO "CAR PLAY." ROAD NOISE A LITTLE LOUD MAYBE BETTER INSOLATION FOR THIS COULD BE LOOKED INTO. LOVE THE GAS SAVINGS AND TRIP MILAGE THIS PRETTY LITTLE CAR PROVIDES.

Awesome Car

I bought this car in Jan of 2018, and I love it, my gas mileage is right around 53 miles per gallon whether in town or on highway. It drives smooth and is super comfortable. I don't see any of these cars on the road and I am shocked, since it gets such good gas mileage. I live 50 miles away from work so I travel round trip 100 miles today and the car is still great and I'm at over 60000 miles already. The only thing I wish is that this same engine and gas mileage was available in an SUV or small truck.
