Got it earlier than planned

We were planning on getting this car in July but the breakdown of our old car sped the timeline up. We don't regret buying it. Love everything about it, but the rear window. It's hard to see cars behind you in the same lane until they are almost on your bumper. But the side mirrors make up for it.

Great city vehicle

I compared a bunch of full electric vehicles and decided that the Ioniq was the best range to value while also being a more spacious vehicle. Hybrids get better range, but they're mechanically complicated and you still need oil changes and smog checks. The range of around 132 miles per charge is perfect for city driving, but not ideal for longer trips or commutes unless there is a fast charge where you work. If you're in a place that gets quite hot or cold, the climate control system will eat 30%-40% of your range. Take that into account if you commute uphill from Albuquerque to Santa Fe in the summer or winter. That being said, both of those cities now have several level 3 chargers available in the Walmart parking lots.

Hyundai continues to improve buyer experience

This is my third Hyundai. I love The layout of the interior and the exterior but still continue to anticipate an improvement in comfort in regards to seating. Will consider them again for my next vehicle.

Awesome Car

This car delivers all that it claims. Great handling, turning and mileage. You can make u turns in small spaces due to the turning radius of this vehicle. Car lets a little too much exterior noises in but a great vehicle for short or long drives.

Ionic 2019

The Hyundai Ionic is truly a car to consider in the EV era. The ionic delivers 50+ mpg in city and more on hwy. Its design is sporty and yet has a comfortable, great ride. Look at this before considering any other hybrid/Electric out there!

Enjoying a Great Hybrid

Hyundai stepped it up when they made this car. Smooth ride and excellent MPG. This is a great versatile car. Plug it in for around the block driving, or fill it up for a nice all day scenic drive. Easy to drive and has great advanced technology to keep you up to date with your electronics. Having a blast so far. Very minimal maintenance, but have already had a couple check-engine lights under 5000 miles. Growing pains like anything Im sure. Feels great after the service!

Great car

Had always bought Prius’s but they took out the Sirius radio so looked at the Ioniq. So glad I did. Love the car! Has a lot of options that are great. The reason for the 4 stars is because there is no rear windshield wiper and you can’t see out the back when it rains. Big safety issue. But I would still recommend buying one.

Cost of maintenance at dealership is high

Other than the cost of maintenance at MY dealership, the car is fantastic! It's comfortable, zippy enough to put a smile on my face, good looking and overall, I think it's a good value so far. We're at almost 1 year of ownership and have turned 15000 miles. We did a road trip and made a loop from Washington to Arizona, New Mexico and back via Colorado, Utah, Oregon and Idaho. My wife and I, all of our stuff and 10 days of travel and it did excellent. Super comfortable and something like $170.00 in fuel cost. For the whole trip! In Colorado we experienced a little snow and quite a bit of ice. I was wary not knowing how it would handle on the ice and it did just perfect. In about 100 miles of icy road, not a slip and I don't use chains or have snow or studded tires. The only two things I don't like about the Ioniq are how dirty the back of the car gets from just everyday.driving, but especially in rainy conditions, and how dirty the door aprons (the plastic part that covers the rocker panels) get. It's almost impossible to not wipe the back of your pant leg on this and transfer the dirt to your pant leg. We like this car a lot! It's my wife's daily driver to work and back, about a 65 mile round trip. She loves it! If I didn't work so close to home, less than 2 miles, we would buy a second one for me. We bought the SEL. I wish we had spring for the limited for the additional features. Now that we've owned for about a year, we've figured out that here in Washington at least, seasonal fuel blends have played a big role in our mileage. One tank last summer and we ended up at 63mpg for the tank. That was meticulous driving using the adaptive cruise control the whole time. During our road trip in February we had tankfuls as low as 44 mpg. MPG figures increased a lot in April however, and I think seasonal blends or the gasoline glut may have something to do with it. Who knows, it's just rationalizing differences...

First Hyundai purchase

Overall value of car is excellent. Enjoy driving more than Prius before. But mileage not close no matter how hard we try. Reliable so far and standard features not bad, wish it had auto sensing wipers and front collision detection when parking

Great on gas

I average 50 - 55 mpg regularly. It's fairly comfortable for a large person to drive & ride. Excluding the backseat. The back seat has very little leg room even for kids. Good acceleration and the driver assistance works great if you need to stop fast. Just NOT on ice! Not great on ice.

Love the design, need some focus on comfort

This is my third Hyundai and each time I think they will have gotten enough feedback to focus on seat comfort; yet it hasn't seemed to improve. I love the car and the design both inside and out. Will consider a different make in the future.

Excellent car

Handles well, the rear back-up feature great as is blue tooth.

Love that it's a hybrid, get good mileage, but wish it offered more standard safety features, such as a warning when vehicle gets too close to another car. Also love that it warns when tire pressures are low, or when it's time to get an oil change

After a year of ownership, it has been reliable and fuel efficient.

I purchased my Ioniq one year ago. It has been reliable and fuel efficient. I drive about 400 miles a week because of work and it has been very dependable. On some tanks of gas I can average close to 55 to 57 mpg and sometimes it is 53 to 55 mpg. It depends on the number of people in the car and how strong the winds have been (I live along the coast).

hybrid

some questions about the car could have been shorter and some questions could have been more clearer. Like the rear view mirror adjustment for me could have been better and the rear window could have been better designed.

Great Car.......So Far.

So far, it has been a very good car. Great Gas mileage ,which is why I bought it .Entertainment /Media center is fantastic, easy to use. But the real test, will be after it hits 50k miles. In my last Hyundai , that was when I started having major engine issues.

MPG

Added a spare tire. 48 mpg. However the speed limit is 70 around me. Not 55. And I'm about 250 lbs. I'm also to talk for a Prius. Great car so far. Have a look before you buy something else if MPG and alot of driving is required for you.
