Kona

i think the vehicle is overpriced, a bit disappointed with the road noise. Overall the Kona is okay however there are many other crossover vehicles in the same price range. That coupled with the fact that Hyundai do not offer complimentary maintenance means that I will chalk this up to not a great buy

Stage 1 Review

The major problem of Kona is the transmission, Hyundai should look for a better transmission type for his new models. Suggest to have the service department to provide a more indepth training to new owners.

Good buy

Very stylish and comfortable overall. Very solid feel and very ergonomic layout. Easy to operate and easy to pair with media devices. Infotainment systems is easy to use and is not a distraction. Looks good inside and out.

Meh

I’ve been unimpressed with this car/ SUV. It’s a 4 cylinder so the power is expected to be weak but I feel like I’ve driven other 4 cylinders that have better pickup. The gas mileage is not all that impressive either. When my lease expires I’ll be returning this car and not getting another unless they make some serious improvements.

2018 Kona

Some really nice things, other are so-so. Not enough room in back for any storage or a big load of groceries. If I have to fold the rear seats down for more room, I have to remove the rear head rests so everything fits. Automatic anti-collision does not work at slow speeds. 4 Wheel drive does not work at high speeds. What, no heated steering wheel?!?! Turbo engine option is a MUST.

Good but.....

Small rear storage space and I wish the mileage was a little better. The back seat area also seems small. If I had it to do over again I probably would have gone with a Tucson instead. If only I could go back in time.

Okay Car

The Kona is a very cute, comfortable, and stylish car, however I have noticed it doesn't like taking hills unless you switch the car mode into sport, other than that it drives and handles the snow very nicely.

Good start, but needs further refinement.

Kona ultimate package is nicely equipment and design is stylish. Cabin is a bit noisy, but I guess that is expected with a small car. Auto transmission is not that smooth and tends to make some noise during gear engagement or switching, but was told that is to be expected and operating normally. Overall ride is decent for small car, although steering is noticeably tighter/stiffer than other cars in its class. Also, at time of this writing, still having service issues with auto drifting even with perfect alignment. For small basic car base or middle package may be good value, but Ultimate package with notably higher quality features, may not be best overall value. One minor pet peeve, even when buying the "Ultimate" package, you still need to purchase basic car mats.

Car is smaller than I would like, safety is great in Konas, my wife was on freeway when a vehicle crept into her lane, the car on its own swayed away from the creeping car preventing her from having a accident.

Kona great vehicle

Easton Jones, was good to use, other than him had a terrible sales experience, I was yelled at, wouldn't by a hyundai again, left upset and bitter. Got a headache, and didn't drive the car for 2 days, due to bad experience even finance department was terrible (Mr. king)

Nice but underpowered

lacks power when you need it-----looks cute inside and styling is nice with features but could use more room my sonata was better in legroom........besides that i like the styling---looks great paint job could be better as you can see it is not the best paint job in the world for a $30,000 car

SEL KONA 2018

I love my Kona. Problem #1 dual clutch transmission makes a clicking noise. Should include tires according to the state sold. Pricing the guy lied to get me in the dealership. The norm! He sold it to me $4,000 above average it was already to late when I checked!

Oh what a Kona!!

I like the look of the Kona. But I have just come across a problem with the safety features. With the “Forward Collision Sytem” being an inch from the bump, the littlest bump cost me $419!. So who ever bumped my car in the parking lot SUCKS!!! And also DUMB design!!

Nice but Needs Work

For the most part, the 2018 Kona is a good car. You get what you pay for with the price point and affordability of this vehicle. My major complaint is the road noise and ride of the vehicle. The suspension system must not be ideal because you feel every little bump in the road so this is not a very smooth riding vehicle. My other beef with the Kona is the rough or loose shifting of the transmission. When you hit the gas, it seems like it takes the transmission 1-2 seconds to engage with a clunk.

11,000 miles Free play in steering still concerns me becoming a drift back-and-forth when you’re doing about 65 miles an hour the sensors all of a sudden light off and said they are disassembled disconnected

Small SUV , reasonably priced

Leased this 2018 car on a 10,000 mile, 3 year lease, because we wanted to try an SUV , on a smaller frame. I traded in a 2016 Sonata. I made the mistake of not checking the rear seat capacity and the storage in the back -BIG mistake. It is very small. Compared to the Sonata I feel it drives like a truck-not a very smooth ride and engine noise is very loud in the cabin. I do not feel that I would purchase another SUV based on this experience without further research.

Noisy driving, too small trunk area

I do love the comfort & up high view I have as opposed to my Sonata. But the cabin is very noisy. Can’t tell if it’s fan from A/C or tires. Trunk space is limited unless I put seats down. Probably will trade up @ end of lease.

Love my Kona, but...

I love my Kona but I'm scared when I drive on the highway because it chokes if I accelerate to pass cars or trucks. Hopefully the next generation is better than this, because I really like. Thank you <3

Room for improvement

Good enough for every day commute. Will save money on the gas, but have to put up with a few nuisances. Feels nice cruising on a long drive, very little drivers fatigue. Wish the rear mirror dim headlights automatically
