Kona 2018

Overall this is a good vehicle. Road and wind noise at highway speeds are high. First gear is jumpy making it hard to accelerate smoothly from a stand still. The rear liftgate registers as open on the instrument panel when door is closed. The gas tank indicator on instrument panel is pointed in the wrong direction.

2018 Kona

I love the comfort and durability of the interior. The materials used on the inside will be easy to maintain over the years. It feels sporty but drives like a luxurious car. I love all the features. The only issue for me was mine didn't come with installed navigation. For the price I paid, it should have. But I was able to download Android Auto no cost. But that means I HAVE to have my phone hooked up to the usb port for Navigation. Also I have auto adjustable driver seat but the front passenger seat is manual which takes away from the luxurious aspect, not to mention looking down on the passenger since they cannot raise their seat??

Hyundai Kona

I wanted a small fuel efficient car with AWD that looked great and was fun to drive. I’ve never owned a Hyundai before,but friends and acquaintances told me that they believed Hyundai made a good car. I took a test drive and bought it the same day. The car handles well, is easy to get in and out of, and I have navigation with android auto without paying $2500 for factory installed navigation. Only downside is small trunkspace, other than that I love my Kona!

Love the car. Don’t like the rattling inside the passenger front door and the intermittent connection with blue tooth. There is nothing else to say as I have not had it long enough to expand on your questions

The car is the Ultimate in this line but did not have many of the qualities that my 2014 Santa Fe had. I felt let down on leg room and quality of seat in the back. There was not a book on how to run or troubleshoot the navigation screen. There are many options for using, but you need to muddle through.

great vehicle for the price

I am very happy with the vehicle. It drives well, has great features and is a great size. It has a great audio system. I wish it had a little more pick up but for the price, I got more than I expected in this vehicle.

Kona lot of fun

I love my Kona. It's quick, comfortable and fun. I have never had anything like it. Its easy to get in and out of even with the arthritis in my knees. But would be better if it had a little more trunk space. I am still getting used to the LED headlights.

Great vehicle

The Hyundai Kona is the perfect vehicle for me. It's not too small or too big. One thing that could make it even better is a slightly bigger trunk but I knew what I was buying and still love it. I love the features of it too. I would definitely recommend the Kona!

I Love My Kona except for...

So far 2 things... Ive had my Kona for 3 months. 1) The connectivity to my phone is not immediate and more often than not I sit in my driveway for 2-3 minutes waiting for the connection. This should be immediate. 2) Cannot dim the driver display down enough for nighttime driving. Tech display dims greatly, more than needed. It is extremely bright, almost blinding at times. Can this be adjusted further? 3) I actually really miss a CD player; for the price I paid for the vehicle it should have bern standard feature. 4) At times my vehicle has almost stalled upon after startup and initially pressing on the gas pedal. Could sometimes be due to the weather, but watching this. It will be nice for customers to have different interior color options. I love my black interior, but a pop of color would also be nice. Otherwise, it's a nice, comfortable drive.

Fun and sporty vehicle

Went from full size SUV to a Kona. Big adjustment at first but love the look and feel of driving the Kona. Great gas mileage. Still learning how to pack thing in it when I go on escapes. Overall great vehicle

Very satisfied

The interior noise level is high. The seats with low bolstering are very comfortable for older persons. The lower entry level is good for shorter people. A heated steering wheel for the northeast should be available in the lower trim levels.

More comfort options needed.

Overall, the Kona is a nice vehicle. They need to add cushion to the door arm rest. They also need to offer a tan interior. I am in the California Desert and all black interior gets very hot. There is not alot of leg room in the back seats but I did not purchase it for anyone else but me. So if you have a family, try out the front seats and have someone sit behind you and evaluate the leg room.

After initial difficulties car performs well

Drive shaft failed at 270 miles. Extreme vibration led back to Dealer where it was replaced. 45 minute job (per work order of 0.7 hours) took three days. Car is working as expected now, but for how long this time?

Happy Kona Owner

I am very pleased with my Kona Ultimate in just about every aspect. My only complaint is that there appears to be excess noise in the passenger compartment. Of course this changes depending upon road service but even on a smooth service the noise does not totally disappear. Fortunately it has a great sound system so I just crank up the volume a bit!

My Kona

I am really enjoying the car, fast, comfortable and economical had 2 small issues that the dealer resolved, i cannot really comment on reliability as the car has about 1100 miles on it. Hate the fact the Hyundai did not put in a digital compass, Oversight or did it really save them tons in manufacturing cost! Overall I very happy with the vehicle.

Overall, it's good car. Fuel efficient and easy to handle. But backseat (which I don't use) lacks legroom and the trunk is small. I would also like the option of satellite radio. The Elantra a good feature where the center console had a second level. It should be include not only in the Kona but in all the Hyundais.

Good but not great

The kona is a good crossover but not a great one. It shifts constantly going up hills ever in sport mode. There is no cd player or xm radio and for people with no cell phone coverage and do not have a smartphone you are limited to using the am/fm radio. Would I recommend a kona? No due to the shifting issues. Took vehicle in for service and was told the problem would stop if driven in sport mode. Did not help at all! I live in a very mountainous area and cannot avoid going up hill so this presents a problem for me. Kona drives beautifully on the flats and in the city but not in the mountains.

Practical and Very Fun to Drive

Hyundai Kona was the perfect choice for me when I wanted to move from my 2007 Honda Accord Coupe to a car that's higher off the ground, has four doors and newer tech. I opted for the Limited with FWD. It's a fun car to drive around town and its size makes parking a breeze. On the highway the turbo engine provides confidence in making that quick lane change to get around slower traffic. There's enough room for me and an adult passenger in the front and my bench dog car seat and two small dogs in the back seat. Boot cargo space is small but that's not surprising since this is a compact SUV. I had considered a Tucson but really don't need that much car. The Mazda CX3 was a close second but just wasn't as much fun to drive. The car looks unique. It's not for everyone but I am a quirky person so its odd ball styling totally works for me.
