Review of Big Sexy (2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy)

The Hyundai Palisade gives the feel of luxury and comfort for an affordable price. I love this vehicle; it's filled with tech and safety features and the leather interior, illumination lighting and suede headliner all give it a high end, luxurious feel. There are a few interior design details that I am not a fan of, i.e. the location of the start button and gear shifter and how far the middle console protrudes and blocks the underlying storage area. Trunk space is minimal without folding the rear seats. These are all items I can live with and didn't deter me from purchasing the vehicle. I get good mileage with the hybrid engine though it is a little less than advertised. Otherwise, I love my Big Sexy!

New Hybrid Under Delivery

The overall technology, integration with the phone application, and performance of the proximity key seem flawless compared to other vehicles owned. The ride is smooth and the interior is high quality and comfortable for the price point. Where I feel the vehicle under-delivers is the improved gas mileage for a hybrid. Still getting only around 20 mpg in stop and go traffic in the city is a little disappointing, but still an improvement from past models owned.

5,000 mile experiences

1. the cruise control is "twitchy", sometimes engages and sometimes it doesn't 2. as an older driver, it is difficult to connect the seatbelt 3. the driver's seat is not as comfortable as the others; it is not fitted to the contour of the driver's back. The edges of the seat are too concave. 4. engaging the driver's side door lock at times is confusing. It doesn't seem to work all the time using the key fob or using the inside locking device. 5. once you push start, it takes too long to engage the vehicle. it is a "pain" to use the log - in, it should be voice activated.

Outstanding SUV

Overall excellent SUV. Very quiet and comfortable, making long distance travel seem shorter. Takes a little while learning to operate the controls. Dealer's sales personnel been very good about taking time to answer questions and help. Few suggestions for improvements: I don't like how cruise control works where you have to use first - lane monitoring when I just want adaptive cruise control and be able to adjust your speed without it taking you back to lane monitoring adaptive cruise control. When there is an ice storm and your wiper blades can't be stopped on windshield so you can pull out the blades off the windshield the blades are frozen solid under the edge of the front hood. Makes in bad weather where you can't operate the windshield wipers. Towing- It is an inconvenience each time you want to tow that you need to craw under the car to remove a portion of the rear bumper. I would recommend you develop some type of temporary rubber cover to fasten around the fastener portion of the cover to give a nicer appearance when you need to leave bumper cover off for a period of time for towing. I am currently using black gorilla black tape to hide the white fastener slots and edging. It nice that the towing hitch and ball were included standard where some. mfg's charge $1,000 to have it installed. Very nice the way the rear wiper blade is hid up above for rear window. Lots of extras included at minimal additional cost. Make the above improvements to make your added options complete.

Love this car!

This is my favorite car I have ever owned! It feels like a true luxury vehicle, yet serves as my mom-mobile in the best possible ways. I actually spend 2 days a week using it as my personal work space and find it so comfortable. Everyone I have in it is shocked at how nice it is. Love, love, love!

Could do better

Be nice to have walkaway locking. Gas cap could be capless. Could have more hands off sterling wheel time. 2023 model seem to give more time. Better looking alloys! Other than that would have given a 5 rating.

Like the vehicle

So far so good. Few small issues. Overpriced for one. Sometimes can feel a stutter in the electric drive train. Sometimes car tells me fob isn't there when is and takes a while to start. Sometimes passive entry is iffy. Battery died 2 months after ownership. These thing shouldn't happen on a vehicle selling for $60,000.

I love the little extras!

We’ve had our 2026 Hyundai palisade calligraphy for about 2-1/2 months. We love it so far. We are finding little features it has all the time. I’m not quite satisfied with the gas mileage but we haven’t taken it on any long trips.

Our favorite Hyundai yet!

We’ve owned six other Hyundai’s and have always had a great experience, but this one is the best one yet. We purchased this Palisade to replace our 2024 because it has even more features, such as the Hybrid power and new body style. The exterior has a strong, bold look, and the interior features are incredible.

2026 Palisade

This is our third Palisade. The comfort has continued to get better each generation. Wind noise now matches the level of the quality of the rest of the auto. The seats still could be more comfortable. All the technology upgrades are good. One issue I have is even when selecting the appropriate user the car does not always pick up that persons phone for the wireless car play, causes another series of changing setting to accomplish it. Disappointed with the speed of the back seats movement to allow entry to the third row and now the loss of the automatic seats folding with one touch. We had the trim ring beneath the back lift gate lose paint we’re just getting ready to schedule with dealer to replace the piece. Overall the auto is continuing to improve over the previous models and we’re very happy with each of the Palisades we’ve owned.

Details matter

MPGs are lower than our kia carnival hybrid and my brother in laws grand highlander hybrid. Safety features are "dumb" smart features. For example, the lights come on instantly when I pass under tree shadows in daylight. In and out of shadows, on and off. Not safe, distracting and annoying. Backing up into the garage is very frustrating. The emergency breaks go on every time I am trying to back all the way in. So, I have to put the car into drive, reverse, ebrake, forward, reverse, ebrake, three or four times u til I'm parked. The cabin vibrates all over the car on the highway. There's more, that's enough for this survey.
