Service engine soon light on with under 2,000 miles

Service engine soon light is on with less than 2,000 miles. Went to the dealership and they said it was an $1,100 repair on us because there was a hole in the bottom of the engine that we caused. It has never been driven over or hit underneath while we've owned it but it's now our problem to fix. We bought it brand new.

Great design but not that great but weak and hesitant

Engine issues no power hesitant and bed is small enough to constitute a hitch accelerates slow after full stop burns more fuel then expected , transmission jumps when changing gears feels like the car has a governor installed which control the speed

Poor Customer Service

My loan amount was not corrected and I was charged an extra 750.00. No call backs were made by the manager or anything. I even went in person. That is the treatment you receive when you purchase a 43000 dollar vehicle.

Don’t Buy from Athens Dealership

Dealership in Athens GA is terrible. Car is great. Buy from another dealership. Signed contract for one price and get a different price from Hyundai Finance. Also have the 90 day delay payment and they invoiced me immediately. General Manager said he would call me back and he never did.

Not a real truck

I thought this vehicle would be good on my farm. But, I couldn't get a single sheep in the back, let alone my donkey. The interior tore on day two and the damn blinkers come on by themselves. I thought this was a Korean car, but it feels like it was made in Russia.

Map and Navigation is not consistent.

I paid over 42,000 dollars for a new vehicle that had less than 1000 miles on it as I drove it off the lot. Less than one month in as I left my neighborhood. As I turned right out of the neighborhood I was informed that "wrong way detected, please check the map. I looked at the map and although I was literally heading due south the map showed me heading west. I continued to be incorrect and continued to tell me I was going the wrong direction. I have taken the vehicle in a couple of times and the dealership has shown no interest in having anyone look at it. Although this may seem like a small issue, it is very frustrating to have this happen and it is not on a regular basis, but happens intermittently, but often enough that I feel like it shoulb be fixed.

My brand new car broke down 10 miles from the dealership

My brand new car broke down 10 miles from the dealership. I was on the highway and every light starts flashing - check engine light, oil light, fuel light. Then the gas pedal stops working. Very dangerous to have this happen on the highway. The car had 50 miles on the clock before it was rendered useless.

Dealership is unethical,

The dealership lied and conducts business in an illegal and unethical manner. I was forced to purchase extra items due to limited availability of models for sale. Told the finance manager 5 times I did not want them but was told the General Manager would not let them sell me the car unless I signed the documents agreeing to purchase these unnecessary items. I pointed out the contracts said I didn't need to purchase them and was told if I declined I couldn't purchase the car. Dealership wouldn't help with blue link hookup, I was told to figure it out for myself.

2023 Hyundai Sant Cruz

I haven't had this car for a year and the entire transmission needs to be replaced. Vehicle has been in shop awaiting a transmission which is on backorder and dealership has no idea when it may come in! Very disappointed in Hyundai, will not but another or recommend to any friends and family. A brand new car and can't drive it. Also, the inside light when you open the car door has never worked since we purchased, thought we were losing minds attempting to figure out the problem. Dealership informed of a blown fused. Go figure!

Wish I Hadn't Purchased It!

There are only a few good things about this truck. It's compact and looks sporty. It's got modern features and conveniences like being bluetooth and smartphone app capable and a Bose sound system. The driver's side seat has electric adjusters but no memory. The downsides... to get in behind the steering wheel, I have to adjust my seat out or hit my head and then adjust the seat back up to drive. Once in the car, it's really comfortable.. It has heated / AC seats. It has a wireless phone charger but none of us can make it work. The dealership says that's due to phones having cases on them. Most people have a case on their phone so what was the point of including that in the car's features? Storage is seriously limited and even adding storage to the visor won't work because the windshield is too close so you have to take your visor accessories off to drop the visor when needed. It has a medium size console but it's set back so it's not easily accessible to the driver (unless they are tall and have their seat positioned backward). To make a phone call, it almost never works on the first try and maybe not even on the 2nd try. To remote start the car, it might work and might not. If it does work and I need defrost, it'll turn on my AC instead. To use the near field access, it might work or not, leaving me juggling a bunch of things in my hands to find my keys. Great acceleration... if the transmission doesn't slip and gas mileage is not what it's claimed to be. I'm getting about 20 mpg city and highway combined but I'm in a rural area which is more open highway than stoplights.

Unsafe

The vehicle looks nice but is not performing in the adverse conditions of winter where I live. I live in Gila County of AZ, in the timberline. A car shutting down on your own driveway on a steep incline is an alarming experience.

Throttle Stuck causing accident

My throttle Stuck and I was involved in an accident. I took photos and videos of the issue. I brought to dealer who duplicated throttle being stuck. They called corporate who told them to put it on safety containment and park it outside. After 35 days I called back and corporate told them to pull it back in and try to duplicate again so they could have computer logs. Could not duplicate as this is a temperature dependent issue. 25F and under. Corporate the. Told them to release my already wrecked vehicle with not even 150 miles on it with no repair. This makes no sense as I myself have been in the automotive industry for over 15 years. Very dangerous game that is being played here.

Don't expect horsepower and acceleration. Engine light on at 4500miles

I drive the SEL activity pack. I don't wish to speed, I never did but sport mode is a total joke. It's seems that it only gives you the delusion of driving sporty bc your dashboard turns red. That's all! Acceleration is a joke too. Engine roars like crazy if you need to overtake the slow Sunday driver in front of you. Or even if you have to accelerate at the entrance of the highway.. RPM reaches red area for the gear to shift. And of course we are talking about accelerating from 55mph to 65mph.. At 4500miles engine light turned on. It fixed itself 3 days later... For a new car its beyond dissapointing.. and besides that both blue link and my dealership mechanics told me on the phone "if it runs, it's ok" (LOL and again LOL) in some instances when braking, the car keeps speeding. This happened at least twice. As for the activity pack, its such a waste of money because it comes without Tow package. With that said, if you have a camper with electric brakes say bye bye towing it. They make a big deal for the tow hitch with the 4pin connector, however towing 3000lbs without electric breaks kills your disks and maybe you. Turneau cover wastes a foot of space in the truck bed. So if you have a tall box that is more than 3 feet length, the truck door has to be open. The car came at the dealership with scratches and a crack on the tail light. I noticed thankfully on the day of pickup. After 4 months of having that car purchased im still waiting for all these to be fixed. You can see marks from excessive glue removal. Great design, great comfort but such a dissapointment when you spent $38000 and not knowing if your engine is going to last and .ost importantly when you realize its not very "activity" as they claim it to be.

Dealership took advantage and overpriced vehicle because I paid cash

Too expensive truck was 53,000 Then 46,000 with 7,000 trade in I thought truck would cost around 35,000 and with trade in pay about 28,000, boy was I wrong I think dealer took advantage of me By at least 10,000 dollars

Vehicle and service is of the lowest quality. Mine is a lemon. Don't know about the rest.

Was excited to get my Santa Cruz, but Rubbed and burnt wires and bad vibration from lane centering keep assist is horrible. Stuck tonneau cover. The service department is (very bad word here). Won't return calls. Cant get straight answers. They have had my vehicle more than I have. Waiting for fix.

Fender lines are not lined up

Great looking vehicle with attractive qualities. But as you inspect it well, you will see the body lines (fender, hood, rear panels) are not lined up well. This reveals low quality and attention to detail.

Bedcover Fiasco

This is a cool and competent little vehicle for light hauling and outdoor use. Unfortunately, Hyundai didn't competency test the bedcover. Cute roll-up design, but leaks. Keeps nothing out. Water, sleet, snowmelt, dirt, dust, everything in the bed will get infused with whatever is in the air.

Great small truck but I had an issue

One month into purchasing a brand new 2023 Santa Cruz I had to have it service. The engine over heat light came on while I was on the highway. Had to stop and pull over immediately. Opened the hood and coolant was everywhere. The belt to the water pump "disintegrated"(dealership words). It took 7 days for a belt to come in. It took 3 days to get a rental. Apparently there is a wait list for rentals due to all the service issues. I gave it a 2 because of that. Lets see if we can go a year with no issues and that might change.
