9.5 out of 10 in my opinion

Almost everything in a mini-truck I was looking for. Exterior looks sporty and fast, interior is basic but clean. Lots of safety features and techie gadgets. Good head and leg room for the front seats and the storage fits my needs. Truck bed fits two kayaks or 4 bikes easily, we've also use it for camping gear and other random big stuff. Off-road handling has been exceptional - no fishtailing or bouncing like larger pickups. I don't have the turbo but I find the acceleration is more than adequate. Love the FDE color. Only three nitpicks. 1. My family is tall, would love to have about 3-4 more inches of leg room in the back. 2. The computer screen console is a little wide near the bottom. I have to sit farther back than I'd like to avoid my knees hitting the corners (this also decrease leg room in the back). 3. I'd love to see a few more storage options. Our drink holders are almost always full and that leaves virtually no room for other items like phones, change, gum, chapstick etc. Beyond those very minor things. I love the mini-truck.

My brand new car broke down 10 miles from the dealership

My brand new car broke down 10 miles from the dealership. I was on the highway and every light starts flashing - check engine light, oil light, fuel light. Then the gas pedal stops working. Very dangerous to have this happen on the highway. The car had 50 miles on the clock before it was rendered useless.

A very nice looking ride.

We were looking at a different vehicle when we decided it was not what she wanted. Then saw the Santa Cruz and she liked the looks of it and took it for a test drive and decided this is just what she wanted. I also like this one too.

Loved this vehicle

I went just randomly browsing and seeing more of the Santa Cruz on the road. I kept researching looking at prices and was saying for the price I had to have one. And after getting one it’s definitely an upgrade compared to my previous car.

AN SUV & PICK-UP COMBINED

This is the perfect vehicle for those looking for an SUV, but desire the option of a small truck bed for hauling. It is comfortable riding, and offers many new safety features not found on other vehicles. The overall styling gives it a great look (unlike a pick-up truck), and along with the performance and electronic features, makes it a perfect vehicle to consider and purchase.

My Wife Was Right

After testing other very good vehicle options, we chose the Santa Cruz. No regrets, the performance is excellent and the overall vehicle construction is very robust. Styling, fuel economy and comfort are all world class for this class of vehicle.

Beautiful truck, great ride.

The good. It is a beautiful, and very comfortable vehicle (limited leg room in the back). We like the styling of it, especially the front grille, and the interior is very comfortable with roomy front seating. Large infotainment screen is intuitive to use. I love the heated and cooling seats. Is a very comfortable and good drive. All in all, it's a very comfortable, unique, and different vehicle that you don't see a lot. The not good. The inverter for the plug in the bed of the truck is very weak.(minor issue) Top trim does not come with wireless Android auto.(medium issue) We purchased the vehicle to tow a trailer for a specific date, but the tow wiring harness has been recalled and Hyundai is slow to offer a new version, meaning I can't tow the trailer the date I needed to.(Major) Dual clutch transmission is a little jerky starting off.(minor) With the exception of the electrical harness for towing, my overall opinion of the Santa Cruz is high, and if I could do it all over again I would certainly buy one again.

The answer to the common SUV's biggest miss: an open bed

I've always liked the unibody concept of small pickups like the Subaru Baja (or the Brat, before that!), so when Ford and Hyundai came out with their uni-trucks, I started looking hard at them. One of my sons bought a 22 Ford Maverick since he works in the trades and needed something cheap with a bed to hold supplies, etc. It's nice, simple work truck but Ford obviously cut corners on build quality and features to keep the price down. It really is a budget truck. The SC is less like a work truck and more like an SUV. If you're not in the trades, but looking to do occasional "truck stuff", the SC is the nicer pick. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for. The SC costs more, but you get more quality, refinement and warranty out of the deal.

Santa Cruz Review

The vehicle so far has handled amazingly well. I haven't had any issues with it. The a/c work very well. There are no issues withe the breaks or speed. The phone link is very convenient for when I need to use the GPS or access other things while in the vehicle without having to use my phone. Overall it has been a pleasant experience.

All great except for cruise control.

Love the vehicle, but the cruise control doesn't perform as expected.It shut off randomly and does not set unless your foot is off the gas. It will not resume previous setting if you accellerate around a slower car.Has to be reset,

Very pleased with purchase!

My most favorite vehicle ever! Santa Cruz is versatile with the truck bed but rides like a luxury SUV. It is very comfortable and I love my cooling seats!!! My husband is 6’4 and fits very well. My friend calls it the magi CB car due to the neat features besides the cooling seats like heated seats, heated steering wheel, bird’s eye view included with backup camera, the side view cameras when using turn signals. We are just amazed at all the features included for the price! Love our Cruz!!!

Northern Virginia - Safford Hyundai

The Hyundai Santa Cruz outperforms the Ford Maverick in all important categories. It is zippy, eye catching and a ton of fun to drive. The real difference is the Hyundai customer service experience. Dealing with Sales, Service and even Parts Department is actually a pleasant experience!
