Transmission issues

My 2025 santa cruz had 860 miles when the transmission would not shift into 2nd gear 25 mph @ 3000 rmp it slammed into gear the first time it happened and the second time during the same trip it would no up shift. I had it towed to the dealer and they said that there were no error lights on the dash so they can't diagnose the issue. They told me that shutting off the vehicle and starting it was the fix first and issue like this. They drove it 17 miles and it wasn't an issue. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Seems like they are admitting there is a problem and the fix was a restart, but not officially confirming there is an issue. My question is if I am merging into traffic and get t boned because of this is it their problem?

Vehicle is alright but lacks the punch you would expect from a turbo. The lack of buttons makes everything require touch on the screen that leaves oily skin residue all over it and a constant cleaning

NOT in Love With This Santa Cruz; Disappointed

The truck bed gets REALLY wet when it rains because Tonneau cover needs a better seal. Took vehicle to Allen Turner Hyundai to check seal on tonneau cover; cruise control concerns; forward protection not working when I get too close to other vehicles; Santa Cruz sometimes telling me to connect to Bluetooth and my phone shows Bluetooth is connected to Santa Cruz but SC won't open up. I was very DISAPPOINTED with the service I received at that Hyundai dealer. Initially, it took a while before anyone came to assist me. When the person came out to help me, he never introduced himself. It felt like I was a bother to be there. When I started telling him why I was there, he commented that I had a "laundry list". Before I walked in the building, I commented about him not introducing himself and noted his name tag said Justin. He seemed aggravated that I said I would wait instead of taking the shuttle to my home as I had initially signed up for over the phone. Once again, it felt like I was a bother based on his negative response. Justin said it could take a couple of days to check all of the things I went there for and I told him I was spend the day there. In what I thought was a short time, Justin returned and told me all of my concerns were invalid because they checked the SC and everything was operating as normal. It was also noted on my paperwork that this SC did not have the forward accident protection (can't think of correct name at the moment). When I questioned Justin about the notes, he suggested I go back to the dealer I bought the SC from and have them look at it. I was in disbelief. I HONESTLY DON'T THINK MY SC WAS REALLY CHECKED OUT. I later received a call from someone at Allen Turner Hyundai asking about my experience and I shared all of my DISAPPOINTMENTS with her (don't remember her name). She said she would share my concerns with the manager and have him call me. Of course, I have not heard from anyone else since then. Some of the safety features I thought I had and was the reason I purchased this SC, doesn't seem to be available. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Just ok

It's just ok. The sunroof leaks in heavy rain or the car wash. Back seat it smaller than i originally thought. Gas mileage is not the greatest. I miss my original santa fe but alas they changed that model.

Can’t drive with sunglasses and use cruise control

The safety controls require that you remove your sunglasses if you want to use cruise control during the day. This makes no sense and is a serious design flaw.

DCT slips in reverse, vehicle was marketed as "trailer ready" The trailer wiring harness is not installed as it was on 22, 23, 24 models.

It's ok, cruise control is TERRIBLE! A nightmare, cuts off because - too much sunshine, too much shade, your hand position on the steering wheel, it's annoying. The USB player will play random, but trying to move to the next song is a royal pain, it only scrolls through the past 5-7 songs, before finally moving to a different song on the USB device. Too much tech on the vehicle and you have to "youtube" every damn thing. Crazy, all the emails from Hyundai have numerous "youtube" links. WTH?? Odometer is on the left in dash, hard to read when you need to. Would NOT buy another Hyundai product.

Mechanical issues, did I get a lemon?

While I love the looks and features of my Santa Cruz, I’ve had mechanical difficulties from the start. I keep getting a battery discharge message and the memory seats have never worked.I've had 3 service appointments with no success. At this point we’re waiting for parts (again). I’m wondering if I got a lemon. If it weren’t for these issues, I’d love this truck, it rides great & has nice pick up, also love that it has a sunroof!

Sales rep was very pleasant

Disappointed front license plate holder not installed have to return to take care of. Final vehicle detailing not as good as it could have been. After first time thru car wash, I washed vehicle myself there were two scratches on roof. I cannot say that car wash did not cause but I had just taken my other vehicle thru same wash 20 minutes before and no scratch. So I do wonder.

Nice vehicle. Very underpowered

I'll be honest. I'm having buyer's remorse. I guess I never really stepped on it when test driving, and now I'm stuck with a vehicle I don't really like all that much. A turbo version would have probably solved that issue, but I've had friends who had nothing but problems with their turbos, and I'm a bit leery of buying one.

Vehicle died or shut off on major highway at night. Lost headlights and everything for a few seconds. Everything came back on and we continued. No check engine or anything came on. As if the complete vehicle lost power. Idk but it was scary. Hasn’t happened since. Vehicle had around 2,000 miles on it when it happened. Has 3,200 on it now. No other problems except transmission seems jumpy or something. Never had a cvt transmission before so that could be it.

I like it but…

There’s not a lot of room for it to feel like a truck and makes you feel like you should’ve bought the Kona or Tuscon money wise (and those are more roomy). My biggest complaint is the dealership didn’t include all weather floor mats or floor mats in general, mine didn’t come with any floor mats! Roof rails at least were there. Truck bed is nice to have but wish the inner truck bed storage was deeper like the Honda Ridgeline’s. Biggest feature I do like is the tech inside! Overall, not terrible and we’ll see how it goes in the coming years!

Manuals are not specific to one model. Front grill needs some kind of screen to protect a/c and radiator from damage.

Missing somethings to be a great vehicle

I love the way the vehicle drives and the versatility of the truck bed. Don’t need finger print scanner it doesn’t even work. Don’t need driving modes as there is really only one. Need heads up display. Need parking sensors.
