Overall positive with a few minor irritations and bugs

I like the car. This is my 2nd Santa Cruz, the first being a 2022. Small item I miss from my other Santa Cruz is the memo record function. It was an easy way to jot something down without disrupting driving safety. My model does not have adaptive cruise, which should in my opinion be a standard part of any car with cruise control. Lane assist was not as accurate as my 2022. The car will tend to wander back and forth between the lines. Also has a tendency to ride closer to one side than the other.

Lots to love.

Lots to love. Nice interior. Up to date tech including Bluelink app. Love the design and the little touches with the bed. Vehicle is exactly what I was looking for and I've put it to good use, hauling bikes, etc.. Vehicle does feel underpowered and some of the driver assist systems seem a little quirky.

Lots of potential, little annoyances

In terms of comfortability, the Santa Cruz is definitely one of the top contenders, extra lumbar support would make a noticeable difference however. There are some minor things that I feel are silly to have/not have. The fact that we have to hold the buttons to open the sunroof and not a single touch makes no sense. The car seems to have some very noticeable sounds when driving between 10-30mph with the sunroof open. The lack of the bar with cloth that typically most cars with sunroofs have may have something to do with it. Makes driving with it open uncomfortable. The GoPro adapter is nice but weird that we cannot put it in the rear fenders. The rear window should have a motor, it’s not easy or convenient to open it manually. The piano black plastics are very easy to scratch up. Wish the physical key was inserted into the fob, and easy to pull out. Currently have to remove the key from my keyring to give to valet and it seems backwards.

Miles per gallon is higher than predicted. Pep is low.

Overall very pleased. Does have a bit of road noise compared to my 24 Elatra and Lexus. Not as peppy. I was surprised to I'm getting about 36-7 mpg.

great mid size truck

a wonderful solution for me, in which I only do light hauling. I have the limited version, which I do wish the interior were closer to a calligraphy line. The vehicle fits in the garage nicely and has a very smooth ride.

Santa Cruz Summary

The vehicle is comfortable, built well, and fair price. The lack of 7 pin towing wire harness readily available for the 2025 makes it sold under false pretenses so it cannot be used to tow currently, but is sold as if it can.

Great - Except for keys and tailgate.

No virtual keys on the lower trim levels. Cannot add additional keys, so I'm limited to only two key fobs and no virtual keys. Key fob is huge and bulky, and the emergency physical key is separate and not built into the fob. The tailgate locks, which is annoying on an open bed pickup truck. Wish there was a way to keep the tailgate unlocked at all times. The tailgate release is 100% powered, and there is no mechanical release, so I hope the wiring and computer and lock and release motors inside the tailgate can take some abuse and do not become fragile over time.

1st Santa Cruz

I recently purchase a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL Activity Package. I really love my truck. The only issue I have is a certain times it seems like a transmission slip but I heard that Hyundai vehicles have that issues at time but nothing too be concerned with that. For the past 2 years I had my eyes on a Santa Cruz. The body style, the slick details on the inside and the lights in the bed is what drives me to this trick.
