Wonderful Vehicle

This was the best purchase I have made in a long time. I bought it as a used vehicle; the previous owners only drove it 5,000 miles and traded it in. I love it and its new to me, with that little mileage, it's new. It's fun to drive and easy to handle.

Some issues with transmission

I love the Hyundai Santa Cruz for what I could do with it. I only regret was that I did not buy one with a tonneau cover already installed. I went to the dealership twice for an estimate on the OEM cover. Both times I was quoted over $10,000. That is outrageous.!!

Good with design flaws

I like the vehicle for the most part, but there were a couple of design flaws. The first is the windshield wipers hide away under a lip of the hood, so changing them out presents a challenge. Another has to do with cruise control. When you need to slow down a bit on the highway and you want to get back to your original cruise control speed, it has no memory, so you need to set it again. The third has to do with memory for the sirius radio. The default is to go through my phone even though I pay for the automobile version. There is no memory from the previous channel, so if I get out of the car, I need to sign into sirius again to find the channel.

Body Control Module

Body control module had to be replaced at 200 miles. Vehicle was towed in to dealership. Would not start, windows would not close etc..

The built-in map system is not complete as compared to Google Maps or Waze. The direction often lead to the wrong place or have me turn around repeatedly. It is difficult to use. When the tailgate and cover are closed tight, the bed fills up with dust during normal road traveling.
