This is not a review, just asking my fellow owners.

Guys did you notice your exhaust pipe at around 68 degrees in east coast? My exhaust pipe has smoke coming out. However, during hot weather seems to be no smoke. Also its like straggling shifting from1st , 2nd to 3rd gear.

Very low quality

Very disappointed in the service and quality of this vehicle. I bought the highest end model only to be let down by the engine issue. The engine is the main part of a vehicle and when it doesn’t work to expectation you’re let down. My Santa Fe has sounded like an old piece of crap for years. I bought it new in 2014 and have nothing but problems.

GDI ENGINE DISLIKE

GDI ENGINE DISLIKE! POOR FUEL ECONOMY! THE VEHICLE ENGINE HAS A SHAKE FEELING AT AT ANYING STOP. IT FEEL LIKE A MISFIRING ENGINE! THE VEHICLE IS NICE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR BUT, THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE IS POOR.

Stay Away from Hyundai Santa Fe

I had a complete engine failure occur just before Christmas. It took three weeks for Hyundai to admit it was part of the recall issues they have had with engines seizing up and failing. I was without a vehicle that entire wait. To replace the engine would have been a $9,000 expense and I haven't even paid off this vehicle yet. Finally was contacted by customer care. I was then provided a rental while they waited for the new engine to be shipped and installed. I got a call that it was "ready" while on a business trip. I came to pick it up the morning after I got back - was told they might be charging me for added rental days since I didn't fly back home to get it. Not happy - I got my car though and started to leave but noticed the check engine light was on. I pulled back into service and they reset the system and said they had probably just forgotten to do so when they replaced the engine. I left - 5 miles down the road the light is on again. I called and told them I was heading back. They got me right in and checked and found the O2 sensor was bad - ancillary damage from the engine failure. Corporate did not authorize them to fix "ancillary" issues though so it would be at least 48 hours to get the part in and about $700 to fix it - I was beyond upset at this point. I called my customer care person and the machine picked up saying they were not available and to leave a message - Then the same machine said "sorry that message box is full". Tried the operator and every other number I could and they were all full. Called their national call center and the staff said - you were assigned a customer representative you need to contact that person - REALLY! They have written the book on how to become the most horrible car brand on earth.

I like the Santa Fe sport it’s just that everything doesn’t work properly and things go out on them and they sold me a vehicle that had 103,000 miles already and it feels like something is wrong with my transmission

Hyundi Santa Fe sport

There are Lots of problems and a lot of recalls. Tires have to aired every time the weather changes. The vehicle does drive good and is comfortable. I would not buy another one or recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Garbage

This vehicle sucks! I purchased a 2014 (used) for my family. Rides hard, and the turbo always has an issue or surrounding parts. Water appears on the back floorboards. $800 to fix a turbo valve on a 2014 is way to much. It should have been a recalled item.

The engine has had nothing but problems the past two years. I bought my 2014 brand new. Every time I have taken it in for service it has been because of the engine. I have had two engine replacements and three turbos replaced now. The last time it was in for service, I had to bring it back because they forgot to put the fluids in my engine. I guess oil and coolant are overrated these days.... Most recent engine replacement, my engine firewall was destroyed. Insulation torn to shreds.

will never buy an other Hyundai. Took way too long for repair!

This is 2nd new Hyundai we have purchased. Started having problem with this vehicle first of Dec.,2018. Had to take back to dealership 4-6 times before they found problem. Last time I had to have it towed in to them. They kept my vehicle for days at a time and let other servicemen drive it to find out problem (lot of extra miles on MY vehicle) After other people started having same problem on their Hyundai Santa Fe, they decided what was wrong with mine. Took almost 4-months. I was afraid to drive it during that time for fear it would break down on me. Just not happy with way I was treated with my vehicle.

Engine blew up

Engine ceased while on alligator alley going 70, the speed limit. Could have died. Company not fabulous to deal with after that awful experience. Had car for months after. They denied was issue, even though same recall on other model. Same exact engine.

Engine went bad at 12 midnight

Worst experience ever. While driving home one night, my truck start to stall which was one of the worst experiences I have had while driving. I get my vehicle service regularly and even though Hyundai knew they had a issue with their vehicles I was never notified about engine issues. Then. Month later the AC went out, I feel like what else? But I still owe on this truck.

Ok For Now, Should Of Kept My 1st Vehicle

Since, the purchase of my vehicle. I've had numerous recalls, along with a locked engine and, a broken thermostat seal which leaked coolant for two weeks. So ,I don't if the next vehicle for me will be a Hyundai.

The Santa Fe Sport T2.0 has been enjoyable !

I would have another one. This time I would get the Santa Fe XL but they wouldn't finance me for 84 months 72 max. they said. So I am looking at GMC SUV. It's been very dependable. It's only been standard maintence. Keep the oil change every 3k miles it functions good. Make sure you change the 2 air filters regularly. If you don't it sure drags the gas mileage down.

Do not buy this car

Numerous recalls, an engine replacement, and continued, ongoing issues with a car I purchased brand new. When taking the car in for an oil change and yet another recall, they must but have inspected it thoroughly, because now there’s coolant leaking all over the floor of my garage.

Don’t buy a Hyundai

Unfortunately I have had the worst experience that you could have with a car. Was in a rental for a year. No dealership has been courteous or caring. I’ve yet to have a good experience with this car. Sell yours if you have one.

NEVER again!!!

Not worth the money when the engine does NOT last and you get stranded on the highway to have it towed to the nearest dealer hours away and find out Hyundai will not cover said engine!!! Does not have the power to tow anything, which makes it useless!!! Not comfortable to relax in!!!
