? terrible cruise control

Cruise control jumps up rpm 6000-7000 to red line when going over crest of hill! Have to turn cruise off and then on to correct rpms to reasonable range for appropriate engine while braking downhill to keep a constant speed. A real pain when driving in mountains. Dealer says this is a "little rough

Pay extra for the upgrades or buy a better vehicle!

I bought a brand new, base model 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and I wish I had spent a couple extra thousand for an upgraded model. This is THE MOST uncomfortable vehicle I have EVER driven! Don't even think about taking it on a long road trip. The driver's seat is as stiff as a board. The car is super drafty! During the winter, there is NOTHING I can do to prevent bursts of cold air & during the summer, the AC has to be on FULL BLAST to get relief. The vents in the rear only circulate air - they do not provide AC or heat. The sound system SUCKS! And the gas mileage is HORRIBLE! I feel like my money is flying out the window. I work 10 miles from home and I have to fill my tank twice weekly! On top of that, this vehicle offers NO power. It lags terribly! Also, because its a base model, the trunk door is not power operated and it is HEAVY! For $22k, this car should have been better built. I've driven older base model Santa Fe's that offered more comfort, more features & offer better gas mileage. Shame on Hyundai for this design. They clearly don't care about repeat business. I have 3 Hyundai's (1 Sonata, 1 Elantra & 1 Santa Fe) but I'll NEVER buy another one. Don't waste your money!

Turbo engine how good is it !

happy with the interior design and the most of the features and the ride. I’m mostly concerned with the engine and how it is going to hold up over the years. They already changed from every 5000 miles to every 3500 miles.

Horrible Gas performances

Gas mileage is horrible, I continued to get 50% of what manufacturer states. Horrible engine noises. Head lights with condensation already after just a few months. Too much wind noise inside vehicle while driving. Very poor construction.

Excellent vehicle

I love my Santa Fe. Only thing I dislike is a smaller gas tank opposed to the Sonata. Cabin outside noise not very good for screening out exterior noises. Windshield noise and vibration very bad. Serious issues with with heating and cooling of the interior. I have to continually manually shut off ventilation from heating and cooling on a regular basis.

HORRIBLE MISTAKE

When I first saw the vehicle I fell in love with it. I was sold on the exceptional warranty only to find out less than a month of owning it and having an issue that the warranty didn’t cover my issue. My issue was a manufacturing defect and they refused to cover it. My experience with Hyundai has not been a good one and I would NEVER recommend anyone buy one as they DO NOT stand behind their product or brand.

Good looks

The ride, road noise, power and fuel consumption don't match the hype. I can't drive it in Eco mode because in that mode it lacks the power to keep me safe. I drive on interstates, old 2-laned roads and country lanes. I need at least medium responsiveness on the interstate to avoid the crazies and lane-switchers.

Engine takes off on its own

Initially, the car was comfortable and easy to drive. However, while I was parked, with the engine idling, the engine revved and the car took off on its own. The dealership and national customer service call center wouldn't help, and in fact, blamed me! They claimed that no Hyundai vehicles have this flaw, even when I produced several news stories showing that this had, indeed, happened in other Santa Fe-s. After several months of run-around from the dealer and the national customer service call center, I didn't feel safe in the car and sold it at a loss. With this kind of customer service, I won't recommend Hyundai to anyone!

Ok car, but it's a lemon

My vehicle had three engine repairs in the first 9 months. Hyundai didn't even reimburse me for the Uber ride I had to pay for to get home at the third repair. I bought Hyundai because it was supposed to be reliable

Disappointed

Vehicle was good looking, drive well and price was ok. Only problem I had which was a huge problem is that it powered down 3 different times which made it scary to drive. Turned it back in as I could not trust it not happening again.

Horrible vehicle for the price

I just did the 30K service recommended for $239.00 and received and an additional list of suggested repairs at the cost $521.82 for a vehicle that is only 2 years old and less than 30K. The gas mileage is very poor and is not as advertised. The vehicle ride rough and very week acceleration.

Major engine issues

Please save yourself the time and effort and don't buy this vehicle. Way too many engine problems. Stay away! Don't buy a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe sport. Stay away from this model severe engine issues that will cost you hundreds of dollars in rental cars. Stop don't buy this car!!! Buyer's beware

SOUND SYSTEM NOT GOOD, COULD BE ALOT BETTER

WISH THEY COUD FIX MY GPS INSTEAD JUST SAYING THEY DO NOT KNOW, WHY IT DOES NOT WORK , ONLY TELLING ME OH WELL THE PHONE WORKS. THIS IS NOT GOOD SERVICE AT ALL, THIS IS OUR SECOND CAR , WE BOUGHT A 2015 AND HAD NO PROBLEM A GREAT CAR, THEN WE BOUGHT THIS 2018 BRAND NEW AND CAN NOT GET THEM TO FIX IT, WE WONT BE BUYING NO MORE FROM THEM FOR SURE

Poor engineering.

Mpg is terrible. Less than 300 mile range on full tank. No heat or A/C to the passenger compartment. Front seats are uncomfortable. The console only works if you are tall drive with Seat pushed back.

Price and the warrantee were the selling points. Colors were very limited. I just don't feel safe in the car. I don't know if I would buy another one. Have to see how all goes after a year.

What else do you want me to say? I,m a mercedes girl. It suits my needs right now. Price was a big factor. The dealership needs to be remodeled badly! It is so antiquated. Wish there was a one in Palm Coast. I do love the seat heaters. Miss my sunroof.

Vehicle Not Starting - Needs Jump to Run

Problem: the car (2018 Santa Fe Sport) would not start after 48 hours of not being driven; car had to be jump-started. Dealer made good faith effort to fix by replacing the alternator on June 29. It did not correct the problem. I will schedule another repair appointment as soon as they have an opening, hopefully, tomorrow July 5.

2018 Santa fe

I don't really like this SUV. When sitting at a light and cars go past the car shakes never had that happen ever. Driving on highway at around 70 to 75 the car seems very loose handling. It is brand new but already the battery was replaced and they are telling me my tires are wearing wrong and I need an alignment it only has 13,000 miles some cars don't need one for 50,000 miles, is there something wrong with the wheelbase? Also the gas mileage is not very good.

vehicle is a dependable auto but ride is too rough and the engine is underpowered to be in that large of vehicle, seats are very hard and are not comfortable for any long trips, car seems to be dependable, i wish i had looked at other choices before purchasing this vehicle

Did not correct the issue of noise.

The Santa Fe Sport makes a noise when you accelerate. Noise appears to be coming from the right rear of the car, as if a motorcycle was on your right side or like the muffler is loose. Does not do it all the time. Noise is very annoying make driving the car not fun at all.
