Love my Santa Fe

I bought this new in 2004. I always took care of the oil changes and maintainence and guidelines. I have never had a problem. There was a recall on the gas tank , that Betten notified me about and they took care of very quickly. I would buy another Santa Fe

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe V-6 AWD

Bought it 2nd hand with 24,000 miles, now has 81,000. Brakes were replaced once, exhaust system piping repaired once. Other than that it has been amazing in it's dependability, gas mileage, road handling, steering, comfort, load capacity, visibility...all excellent. The most important feature to me is the intuitive design of the no-nonsense dashboard. Many people want a lot of "junk" on the steering wheel and dash board which, to me, is a distraction and unnecessary for safe driving and transportation. The controls makes it easy to operate them without taking your eyes off the road.

Reliability.

Best vehicle I have ever owned and I’m 77 years old. Would like a new Sante Fe but they are too expensive for me. The vehicle is very comfortable and handles nicely. Highway driving is a pleasure in the Sante Fe.

Great Car

We are original owners of a 2004 Santa fe. This car has been virtually maintenance free other than basic oil changes, etc. Has 150k miles an is extremely reliable and has taken us in travels to many western states and east of the Rockies. Been a great family car.

Great SUV

Wonderful car - didn't give me any major problems for a long time. The only thing is the minute it hits 130,000 miles, prepare that you will be paying a $2000 bill for repairs. I would recommend it.

Has been a reliable and great car for 14 yrs ever year it keeps going and I’m able to put my groceries in and out easy Have had it 14 years and it has been a great car for me The red paint has held up great I was lucky to pick the perfect car ?

Hyundai Santa Fe going strong at 17 years

My 2004 Sante Fe has been the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned. Never left me stranded. Only repairs are normal things. Still has original exhaust, transmission, power window motors...the only thing I've needed is a new air conditioner. Everything else normal wear and tear.

A oldie but a goodie

I have had this car for 17 yrs. It still in great shape,I have not had any major issues besides the normal breaksand tire repair on it. I make sure that I get it in every 3,000 miles for a oil change. Most dependable car I have ever had. I know one of these days it will give out but until then I'm not getting rid of it.

17-year 'love affair' with my '04 Santa Fe

I am the original owner of my '04 Santa Fe (since October 2004) and have enjoyed every day of dependable, comfortable driving; I have and still am very confident that the vehicle will perform exceptionally well in all types of weather and roads. By the way, I also purchased as the original owner a 2002 Santa Fe (I still drive it) and was so impressed with the performance that when an additional vehicle was needed in 2004 I immediately thought of purchasing a second Santa Fe in 2004. Both have been very dependable.

Great Vehicle

This vehicle has never let me down. As it gets older a few things need to be done outside of regular maintenance. I will be buying a new Hyundai when the time comes to retire this vehicle. It may not be a Santa Fe but it will be a Hyundai.

With the exceptions of some sensor issues I. Hadwhen i first got my usedSUV, once they were corrected, the car has given me lots of driving pleasure. Down side, clear coat wote off several yrs after buying it.

My Santa Fe story

My 2004 santa fe is the BEST car i have ever owned.....bought it brand new and i have never regretted that decision since..I do take care of the car , the oil changed the tires rotated and all that but i have to say i replaced 1 battery, and i just did $1000.00 work on it but the SUV is gonna be 13 years old in April 2017......I LOVE my SUV!!!!

Love my car

I love my Santa Fe. I've had it since it was new and I haven't had any major issues with it. The only "issue" over the years is that on occasion, the transmission slips, especially while I am stopped. I've had it in several times, even to different dealerships, and no one had been able to determine why it would do this. I've lived with it all these years, and it's never really bothered me.

Strong car with some flaws

We have owned an 04 2.7L for 13 years and 120k miles. This vehicle has been very reliable. With just regular maintenance the motor and transmission have had very few issues. The only complaints fall into the quality of the parts used on this vehicle. Every door handle on the car has broke and needed replacing. The paint has oxidized and is ruined all over the car. The interior door handle on the drivers side needed replacing. The dash is also lifting at the vents.
