IT SURE WOULD BE NICE

If the vehicle could not be so noisy. There has to be something that can be done about it. Otherwise, I'm happy with my vehicle. It is holding up pretty well for being a 2011. Need to bring in the vehicle for more work after the 4th of July. Seems I need rear brakes and new tire alignment. One more thing too but I can't recall. I just hope I can keep the bill UNDER $800. My wallet can't take much more.

The cars OK but the dealers charge ridiculous prices..

The car runs great but I have yet to have even the most routine repairs cost less than $500. Struts $1200. Cabin filter $80. Power steering flush and fan belt $500. $75 oil changes. This offsets the cars quality along with the NY AUTO GIANT monopoly controlling all the dealerships on Long Island. They take advantage of the captive audience.

Santa Fe with 130k Miles

Until now Santa Fe has performed well. Now at 130k need all new front suspension. Very costly, not sure it is worth it for 9 year old vehicle. Must consider options before making the investment in Santa Fe.

reliable but "trucky"

This SUV has been reliable but lacks some items that I would have liked. A power trunk would have been helpful as well as a back-up camera. The ride is "trucky" I realize that these things were not available on this vehicle at the time I purchased it. The passenger seat controls are manual- power would have been better; the lack of an up and down feature makes it annoying for a shorter person to see easily out of the front window. I sit on a pillow. However, in general this was a worthwhile purchase.

Almost There

I have one pet peeve with my Santa Fe. The second row Passenger Dome light is not connected to a diffuser and will not go off, like other lights do, when vehicle is turned off.. So if you accidentally hit the switch in the driver overhead cluster, the light stays on and the battery eventually goes dead. Has happened to me more than once. My only cure was to remove the bulb.Doesn't seem like a big deal to include this light in a diffuser curcuit and have it go off when vehicle is turned off.

2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

Excellent Vehicle after 53K miles. 1 Significant problem. Remote Start blows a fuse if heat set to high. This issue occurred 1 month after I picked up out of showroom. Took back to dealer twice. Explanation was the circuit for remote start heater draws to much current when heater is in high setting. Remote start works but heater does not come on until you put in the key and turn on. Dealer had no fix and told me not to leave heater switch in high position, of I do fuse will continue to blow. Tries 3 different can't to get this fixed with no results. Very Frustrating for after paying 20+ for new Vehicle. Unfortunate Hyundai can't or won't come up with a fix as its a great vehicle, nut not sure I would purchase another, if they fix design flaws.

Love my car!

My 2011 Sante Fe has about 65,000 miles on it at present and I love to drive it. It is well-thought-out as far as where the controls are located and is roomy and comfortable for a family of five to travel with luggage. The back has plenty of cargo space without sacrificing leg room in the front. It has a tight turning circle and is easy to turn around. My only criticism is that there are blind spots on either side of the front window and on either side when trying to look out the back side windows. The head rests are difficult to see around when looking back as well and tilt slightly too far forward to allow for sitting completely straight up on long trips. All in all, though, as far as drive-ability and flexibility, I really like it and would buy it again.

PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED REGARDING WARRANTY ITEMS AND POOR QUALITY OF PARTS INCLUDING WIPERS AND CLOGGED WINDOW WASHER FLUID LINE SINCE NEW. HAVE NOT HAD SUCH BASIC PROBLEMS IN ANY OF MY PREVIOUS VEHICLES. DEALERSHIP UNABLE TO RECTIFY EITHER. HER WASHER

MY ISSUE IS WITH THE SERVICE WARRANTY AND I THINK THE INITIAL WRITER SHOULD HAVE INVESTIGATED HYUNDAI'S LETTER RE THIS SPECIFIC DRIVE TRAIN RELATED ISSUE AND CONTACTED MANUFACTURER (IF NECESSARY) TO ENSURE COVERAGE BY HYUNDAI OF EXPENSE AS "RECALL" ISSUE OR WARRANTY SHOULD HAVE COVERED THE SERVICE. CONCERNED ABOUT HYUNDAI HAVING PROBLEMS AFTER ONLY 4 YEARS OF USE. WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO FALLING APART THAT IS NOT COVERED? WAS THIS A GOOD VEHICLE CHOICE OR SHOULD I HAVE GONE TO TOYOTA?

2011 SantaFe SE V6

With the exception of road noise the SantaFe is an absolute used SUV best buy. You will be hard pressed to find an SUV with the same features for anywhere near the price. Hyundai service is absolutely awesome.

Surprisingly good little SUV.

This is not a replacement for the Chevy Suburban I was driving, but then it is not designed to be. For it's design purpose this is an excellent little SUV. It feels solid on the road in all weather. handles and corners well. The little 4 cylinder engine has plenty of pep and does not seem bothered when I stuff the cargo space with everything my college son owns. The extra bonus storage space under the cargo floor is great. A standard roof rack would be helpful. Seriously, how much could that cost to include? I bought the vehicle with 45,000 miles on it hoping it will go another 100,000. I am totally convinced from what I am seeing in maintenance issues (oil changes and tire rotations only), I will get that and more. This car/truck is showing me the kind of reliability I have gotten used to in my Hondas and Toyotas.

I love my Santa Fe. However, there has been an ongoing problem with the check engine light. I am concerned by the fact it seems there is no solution to the problem. Holding my breathe that this time it is fixed.

A highly reliable mid size SUV

Even though I listed several shortcomings all of those have been addressed in the new 2017 Santa Fe. The excellent reliability, great fuel economy and a superior dealer experience with our 2011 Santa Fe led me to test drive the 2017 Santa Fe. Our 2011 Santa Fe was a great mid size SUV and based on that experience we ultimately traded for the 2017 Santa Fe. Every issue was addressed and substantial improvements and features were added making the 2017 an excellent mid size SUV. If safety features are a major concern I would encourage anyone to consider the 2017 Santa Fe Limited.

2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

This vehicle serviced us well until mileage got over 70,000 miles. It was roomy and comfortable and carried our camping gear pretty well. The 100,000 mile warranty on drive train came in handy and took care of a recent problem. Check out a newer Santa Fe though and the change in the features will blow you away!

2011 Santa Fe

I have three disappointments with my Santa Fe vehicle. 1). The four cylinder engine is under powered when running the AC, can hear road noises, and the most disappointing one is I am not getting the 28 mpg as advertised. The best has been 25.5 will not running the AC and using the cruise control. I have been very pleased with my Santa Fe. It is roomy, stylish, and has many extras included on the vehicle. When and if I get ready for a new one, I will certainly look at Hyundai again. I am interested in looking for s hybrid car or SUV.

Great, reliable SUV for the money!

I love my Hyundai Sante Fe! It is so versatile and easy to maneuver in any driving situation. There is more room and storage in the back than you would think! I've hauled people, furniture, landscaping, you name it in the back on my Santa Fe! It has been very reliable and very minimal in repairs. I like that the back seats recline back so you have plenty of room for passengers. The V6 gives you a lot of power to pass quickly.
