Average SUV

I traded my truck in for the '13 Santa Fe Sport for better fuel mileage. Ever since I have had problems with the alignment going out. I have had 3-4 alignments in the last two years. Again, I am getting steering wheel bump each time I have to drive on rough roads that are falling apart. The front tends to pull to the left again. I will be taking it to another automotive shop to have the suspension checked out and have another alignment done on it. As for mileage on this, it has been averaging about 15mpg / 18mpg hwy. At times I wonder if the ECO setting button even works on it or may have something wrong with the turbo charger causing it. At times it will run sluggish with no acceleration and sounds like a cheap coffee pot with a turbo.

Noisy after only 35000 miles

Car has squicky & rattle noise at only 35 miles. Clear coat started to peel at one area. Forgot about warranty limit, only claimed it at 36950 miles and denied by Hyundai USA, even though I pointed it had happened since before 36000 miles. Won't buy the same car again.

Basic SUV that does its job

A lot of bang for your buck with this SUV and cheaper after-sales care and maintenance versus luxury brands. Nice electronic steering, cheap heated seats, and great space and capacity. However, there are a few things that Hyundai just can't seem to master. The thing that annoys me the most is the cabin noise, which gets even worse if there's even the slightest hint of a crosswind since you hear this whistling sound inside the cabin. The integration with the iPhone is clunky and works differently on different days. I don't regret buying the Santa Fe but if you're looking for comfort and luxury, go make some more money :)

Many improvements over my 2002, but significant unresolved issues remain.

Great new style, comfort and convenience greatly improved, as are fit and finish. I average 27mpg, and have gotten as high as 32mpg on the highway. You can't beat the warranty. Unfortunately, what has not improved is the myriad electrical issues this model still seems to experience. Lastly, I have had significant and troubling issues with the cruise control, including unintended acceleration when attempting to disengage the cruise control with the cancel button. Disappointingly, since this issue could not apparently be replicated by the dealer, Hyundai declined to make any repair attempts after one attempt that did not fix the problem.

2o13 Hyundai Santafe sport turbo.

I have had this car for 2 years now. I have driven 35k miles on this car. I had my battery replaced already. It is a beautiful car with great features and luxurious interior but the paint scratches easily. I have a 20 year old truck that has better quality paint. The transmission has slipped a few times. I just hope it brakes down before the warranty expires.

Great car for money...if there were no mechanical issue!

Love the Sante Fe's look, interior and overall comfort. I don't like the fact I had a fuel sending unit go out at 35,000 miles and then the motor went out at 50,000 miles. Warranty took care of everything but it was still an inconvenience. Both broke down while driving down the interstate without any warning. The vehicle just shut off while traveling at 60+ mph.

Alignment Problems

Had to get another 4wheel alignment on my Santa Fe Sport around Thanksgiving. This will be the 5th wheel alignment since I bought this vehicle. I called Sears Automotive to have it taken care of. When I brought it in I talked with the service tech there and he said that my Santa Fe Sport was not the only one in town to encounter this problem. Sears have had several other local owners come in with the same issues. He said that the problem is brought on by the Automatic Steering program. Apparently when you change the steering wheel settings this some how affects the alignment. You would think that Hyundai could do something to correct this continuing problem and prevent this expensive problem!!

MPG and others

Overall the Santa Fe is a good vehicle with a comfortable ride. I know there is an MPG glitch but its still unsettling to know and see the trip meter tell me I have traveled 50 miles when the tac shows I have only traveled 25-30 miles. Especially shortly after filling up with gas. Its even more annoying to watch the tac drop 5-6 miles when I have only gone 2-3 blocks. Also, all the reviews I have read claims the Santa Fe should get approximately 400 miles on a tank of gas, or 437/443/452 miles immediately after I fill up, but I am lucky if I get 370+/- miles on a tank of gas. I drive like I have sense. On board BlueLink mapping needs help. BlueLink , on several occasions, will/can not locate physical addresses and does not always take me on the most direct and efficient route to my destination. Only time BlueLink is reliable is when the subscription is due. Sirius XM is a nice service but its an absolute disaster to work with. Between Sirius XM blaming everything on the dealership from poor service to screwing up my account its just another problem to ponder and decide upon that takes some luster away from the Santa Fe. I am close to trade in time on my Santa Fe and I will have to check the competition.

21013 Sante Fe

We enjoy the features, looks, and warranty on this veh. On the other side of the coin though, the fuel mileage is not close to what they sold it as on the vehicle sticker - and yes they are suppose to be reimbursing owners for the inflated advertised mileage but this was suppose to happen well over a year ago and still no settlement. That being said, our mileage is still below the revised Hyundai mileage by at least 2 MPG. One other concern we have with this veh is the inferior light output of the headlights. Even on brights it seems like 90 % of the cars that go by dont flash us as we forget to dim them because it doesnt seem like the brights are on to us either..
