Worst Purchase Ever

I purchased a brand new 2020 on September 13th. It left my wife stranded on the interstate overheated on October 8th. The car only had 1800 miles on it. We had it towed to the dealership (Green Hyundai in Springfield Illinois) . After several calls on my part I am told the dash cluster is bad on my vehicle. As I write this it is November 11th. My vehicle has been in the shop over 30 days and the best eta for repair that I can get is 30 more days! The dealership has done nothing except try to sell me a more expensive car to replace it. What a joke. You call this customer service on a brand new Hyundai? Completely frustrated. Worst buying experience my wife and I have ever had. The customer service is even worse.

Hyundai Palisade

It has major flaws... wind noise and rattles. After the second day of driving I knew I made a mistake with the purchase it was rushed to market the Kia telluride has the same problems. If they can’t fix the problems we will trade it off and buy another brand.

I bought brand new 2020 Santa Fe but started having engine overheat issue around 450 miles. After few minutes of driving, engine overheats every time. I can only drive less than 10 MPH without the overheat. Basically can't drive this car.

Creaking interior noise

Interior creaking noise coming from drivers side door or window. Took it in to service this issue, told it was fixed, and the creaky sound came back on the way home. This creaking noise occurs every time I drive the vehicle and I am unhappy with my purchase

Vehicle has terrible toxic odor that will not go away

Like the car, but can't stand to get into it. There are a lot of Hyundais with this issue, and so far, no one has been offered any resolution. My car has a toxic mildew/chemical smell. The dealership says it's a new car smell, or that they don't smell anything. EVERYONE who has been invited to sit in my car will tell you that the smell is so bad they wouldn't ride in my car. Corporate Customer Care hasn't really done anything to solve the problem (the latest is that they've asked the dealership to order a mold test kit). They also don't admit that they have had hundreds of complaints about this issue. Right now I'm stuck with a $30K car loan on a car that makes me ill to drive and that no one will ride in with me. Do yourself a favor. Don't let your dealer start up your car and run the A/C before your test drive. Insist on opening a closed car that has been on the lot, and if you smell the slightest hint of anything noxious, look at another car. Don't get screwed over like so many of us have been.

This car is a beautiful car, but so striped down I was very disappointed that it hardly no extra things on it. The things that were on it really didn’t matter I didn’t like them I liked the other things on my 2018 better. It just seemed like Hyundai took everything away on a brand new car . This was my 3rd Hyundai and ism now not so big on them. I think I’ll be trading this car in for a Honda in 2 years.

Interior rattles and bouncy ride

Squeaking seat belt and bouncy ride that Hyundai tells us this is common problems and nothing they can do. I asked them to check the balance of the tires. They said we do not have a balance problem. Did not even attempt to solve my bouncy ride. Very disappointed customer

Horrible experience

My parents have bought at least 10 new Hyundai’s. I had a Kia Sorento and decided to trade in for a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe. Within the first month, my car broke down and wouldn’t start. The dealership said it was the battery and replaced it. A month later the same thing happened. After days of being in the shop, the dealership says they only replaced the battery. This has been a huge inconvenience for me. I upgraded to a brand new car to avoid car issues. I now have had more problems with my new car than I did with my old car. I am scared to drive it far away. I never know when it will die again. Terrible experience.

Parts Missing

We are very disappointed in our new Hyundai Santa Fe. After driving our 2014 Santa Fe for 6 years, we thought we would buy a new one. After a week of driving it we noticed we were getting damage in the front wheel well. Upon inspection we noticed 2 screws missing from both front wheel well covers causing them to rub on the tire at highway speed. The dealer accused us of hitting something and causing this damage, when we hadn't even driven it down a bumpy road, let alone hit anything.

Blah car

This car looks great and the interior is really nice, are used to have a sonata and I really liked it. The Santa Fe is nothing special, it is under powered, weak and the gears shift when they’re not supposed to and don’t shift when they are supposed to. Overall it’s an OK car but it is not fun driving at all, would not recommend it for someone that enjoys driving.

Great Cars Terrible Company

This is my fourth Hyundai in the last ten years and sadly my last. The cars are great and if you can secure financing outside of the company then go for it. However, their Hyundai Motor Finance branch is so rude and terrible that it makes these cars not worth buying. My wife was rear ended, for over two months HMF has sent the incorrect information to the insurance company more than 5 times. When we ask for a corrected one they say it will take 5-8 business days and resend the incorrect one. When you ask for a supervisor they are rude and say they will send an email and it still isn’t fixed. There is no one willing to help after over 30 attempts and multiple complaints filed with the company directly as well as the BBB. Not one attempt has been made by Hyundai to reach out about my complaint even the one filed with the BBB and no one seems to want to help me solve my problem. I have now made two payments on a totaled car that wasn’t at our fault all because Hyundai can not get a correct letter to the insurance company

2020 Santa Fe SEL

One of the main reasons I bought a new car was for the safety features. The Santa Fe has plenty and most are good. Unfortunately, one of the most important does not function at all. Even worse, correction of the fault was brushed off by the dealer. No codes, no DTC's, no problems.

Bad Hyundai Dealer Experience - Santa Rosa CA

Vehicle is reliable for the price that I paid. It overall works well. It takes a lot longer time to accelerate on the road in comparison to my Honda vehicle. I will not buy another Hyundai because of my bad experiences with dealers. I dealt with the Hyundai dealer in Petaluma which lied to me, saying that I do not need to worry about the mileages for a lease vehicle, 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe as long as I buy the next car from them. This was a total lie. In the end, I ended up paying for the overage miles when I brought in the car to the next dealer, Santa Rosa Hyundai. When I bought the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, the Santa Rosa pushed me to buy another SUV 3 months earlier than my lease ending in December of 2019 promising that they will cover for the remaining 3 months lease cost which they covered only for 2 months. This kind of selling tactics will not work for me or anybody else. Now Hyundai and the dealers lost future sales from my family and friends for good.

Structural indegrity seems to be VERY poor

The 2020 Santa Fe seems to be made VERY poorly if a minor accident that didn't even deploy any airbags can cause the vehicle to be totaled by insurance company. How can Hyundai make a vehicle that cannot withstand this type of impact?

Feels cheap. So many cabin creaks and squeaks... It doesn't feel like a new car. I feel sad and frustrated every time I drive it. The sunroof feels like it's going to fall out from normal driving... It vibrates loudly to the point that I can't enjoy my brand new car.
