DON'T BUY THIS CAR IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON TOWING

Bought our 2021 Santa Fe Limited specifically to tow on January 25, 2021. The salesman and the manager knew this. We were even quoted a price to install the tow package. After purchase we learned the tow package is not available. Have been waiting nearly 2 months now and we hear that you don't even have a prototype yet. Our travel plans have been ruined. We filed a complaint with Hyundai customer service, Case #18055925, with no solution in sight. Customer service case manager referred us back to the dealership and BBB complaint department saying there was nothing they could do. Hyundai buy back department cannot help either. This is false advertising as Hyundai website, dealers, etc all state the car will tow 3500 lbs. All our questions and research says it is able to tow. Page 6-83 of your manual states "A HYUNDAI trailer hitch accessory is available at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer". It is NOT!!! There is not a trailer hitch in existence that works, so this car CANNOT tow 3500lbs. I have been in contact with other owner of this model who are also angry as they cannot tow either.

Head Up Display a Huge Disappointment

The HUD does not work for short drivers. I am 61 inches tall. This problem has been addressed with Hyundai corporate and a case has been assigned. It appears to be an engineering design error. I am hopeful that it will be rectified soon.

Unsuitable for short women drivers

I have a Santa Fe Calligraphy which includes a head-up-display. At 5 feet,1 inch tall I am unable to entirely view the display. Hyundai's only solution is for me to sit on a thick cushion. Now I am unable to use the seat ventilation feature of my expensive trim level. Hyundai corporate did open up a customer service case number for me and my husband did speak regularly with a representative but the end result was that the engineers are working on a solution to the problem for future models. There will never be a problem solution for me and my vehicle.

Lemon from Day 1

This car has not worked right from delivery. Has been in the shop for over 23 days. The electrical system does not shut down. Service just keeps guessing what is wrong. Hyundai USA doesn't return calls. Pass this car by.

Horrible experience

Horrible vehicle and customer care, will never get a Hyundai again. I have not seen my vehicle in approximately 3 weeks after only having it for 2 weeks as it broke down. I tried calling the 800 number which I have gotten the run around for over a week. Horrible experience.

My SUV

Lovely SUV. Easy to drive. Lots of bells and whistles. All was explained but have gotten 4 of the so knew a lot about it. Enjoy how easy it is to drive around. Do spend time reading that thick book though. Will be back soon. Thanks so much to you Wes.

Brand New and was already Broken

I leased a brand new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving with my children in the car, it would stall on main roads and completely shut off. When I brought it back to the dealership, they told me a "loose screw that was installed at the factory" was causing this. I complained to Hyundai Corporate but they didn't help me. They forced me to take the car back because I already signed lease papers. After the dealership tightened the loose screw, the car still shakes when idling and doesn't have full power when driving. I've been a Hyundai Customer for almost 10 years, I've bought or leases 4 cars from them and have been happy. This experience has changed my view of the company and their vehicles. I will never get a Hyundai again. The company doesn't care about customer safety or satisfaction. Stay away.

Apple car play doesn’t work

Their Apple car play system is not compatible with IPhone and they blame IPhone for the connection issue the Apple car play system has. Not safe to drive with this car. The audio keeps disconnected and you can barely make calls or listen to music when driving with this car due to the Apple car play issue.

Brand new and completely broke down

Our brand new car just died. Apparently the transmissions do that without warning. The dealership has had my vehicle for over 3 months at this point. Every time they say it’s going done it ends up being another month. We will never buy Hyundai again

Shifter Malfunction Error Issue

I started getting a shifter malfunction error a few months after buying the car. When this error comes up I have to restart the car in order to shift gears. Can you imagine going through this process every time you had to shift gears? Not just an inconvenience but could cause serious safety issues when you need to react quickly and shift gears while driving.

Santa fe 2021

Bought this vehicle brand new only 35 miles on it. Within weeks had to take it in 5x and eventually the engine had to be replaced. I could deal with that but I didn't have use of my vehicle for 2 months. Hyundai blew me off didn't offer to compensate me. Felt like their only concern was getting my $$ and not about my satisfaction..let me say that the buying experience with Kyle and his staff at Headquater Hyundai in Sanford, FL was AWESOME. They made me feel important!

Worst experience ever with a new car.

I will never buy another Hyundai again after the experience I had with this car. The people at the N. Freeway Hyundai dealership were rude, incompetent and couldn't have cared less about inconveniencing me.

Get ready to push that button

This auto would be great but for one reason. You have to use the key fob to lock your doors! The button you push on the door handle to lock the car hardly ever works the first time you push the button. There has been times i had to push the button at least 10 times before it would lock the car and other times i just gave up and pulled the keys out on my pocket to lock the doors. Not fun standing by your car when it is raining or snowing or 0 outside trying to lock your car, esp when you paid over 44000 for the car. Dealer told me that this is normal for a Santa Fe and could not fix it to operate correctly!

Stay away - no support from dealers - cannot schedule service for months, no loaners

Seriously, stick with a better brand like Toyota that has customer service and technical service capabilities after the sale. Especially with the price of the higher trims the non-existent support and service scheduling really shows as a place they cut corners big time. AND YOU WILL HAVE ISSUES - look up Hyundai engine and electronics issues on the forums or just Google it. IT's even worse if you spend $75k+ on a Genesis - because they use the same exact crappy Hyundai service departments that don't have availability for appointments or advisors who care.

overall terrible driving car terrible miles per gallon

all the above just all around poor dealership. my friend knows owner, they didn"t care just wanted to pawn off car and mislead you when purcasing, i wish i never ieased this car, tried to get out of it, and they would not return my calls except one man, but eventually nothing happened costs me one hundred dollars a week in gas

Someone hit me while he was taking a left less than 2 weeks after purchase

I have been a loyal Hyundai customer for years. I trade in my vehicle when it is 3 years old for a new one. This last time someone hit me (his fault) and my car was in the shop for 3 MONTHS!!!! I will never purchase another Hyundai, nor recommend this brand to anyone. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!! THEY KEPT ME HANGING FOR 3 MONTHS, ALWAYS PROMISING IT WOULD BE READY THE NEXT WEEK, BUT IT NEVER WAS!! NOW I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS A HISTORY OF AN ACCIDENT-HOW DOES THAT WORK FOR RESALE?
