Hazardous

I purchased the 2023 Santa Fe about 5 weeks ago. It has been at the service shop for about a week because, in those 4 weeks of ownership, the vehicle failed to start 3 times. Of those three times, we missed preschool, a doctors appointment, and the electronic failure caused the doors to lock after I had loaded them in and the car failed to start. Thankfully I kept the driver’s side door open and was able to open the rear passenger door to get my child out. I had to climb over the back seat to get the jumper cables out of the floor in the back since the trunk wouldn’t open without functioning electronics. The dealership simply “can’t replicate” the issue. So I’ve been without a vehicle for a week, without any replacement offered. The issue has happened 3 times in a month, so I understand it hasn’t happened for them yet, but the fact is that the car is a hazard to myself and my children. It is unreliable at best, and no solution or compromise has been offered. We took a risk going with Hyundai for the first time, and we are seriously regretting it so far.

Transmission failed at 900 miles

I was excited to buy the car and all seemed well until the transmission failed at 900 miles. It was unsafe to drive when it occurred and I don't feel safe driving it now. Dealership cannot find anything wrong at this time.

2023 Santa Fe Limited Punctured Radiator

We were so excited to purchase a 2023 Santa Fe Limited, our first new Hyundai purchase. We use the vehicle to travel to/from work (my wife and I commute together) and our commute is mainly highway and all paved roads. We got home from work one evening and smelled burning radiator fluid and noticed we had pink fluid on our grill guard. The next morning we woke up to ALL of the radiator fluid on our driveway with no visible damage. Our car had to be towed to the closest Hyundai dealership and upon inspection the Service Manager called to let us know a rock had punctured a hole in the radiator and it would need to be replaced but it wasnt covered by warranty. We asked if there was any further damage to the grill guard or anything else and he said no. If a rock along a highway had enough force to puncture the radiator we should have felt it! The technician said he has only seen it happen one other time in his career and it happened to be a Hyundai Palisade. We had to pay $1052 to have the radiator replaced. I called corporate and filed complaint and the case manager called me and said they would not help me because its not a manufacturing defect. Does this mean i can not drive my car on a gravel road without worrying about further damage? I will never refer anyone to Hyundai and will never buy another one! I am so disappointed that i spent so much on a new car and then have to deal with this!

coconut creek FL rude and unhelpful

coconut creek sales team and service rude and unhelpful car had gear shift problems at less than 200 miles completely shuts down when changing gears. windows lock and very dangerous dealership not interested in my problems would like to be contacted by someone in authority. expect a reply from this survey from a human..not a computer

Disappointed

Had vehicle for one month, less than 2500 miles and there was a gear shift malfunction. Car would not shift nor turn off, or lock. Had to take car to dealership immediately and was never notified once they completed diagnostics no effort was made to notify me and when I would call the service department I got voicemails with no return calls or just ringing and no answer.

Apple CarPlay Lags

There is a significant lag both in the vehicle’s touchscreen and in its navigation display when using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We had the same results with two different iPhones, both of which have the most recent OS, and an Android phone. Everything else about the vehicle is great, but we made it clear to Hyundai of Bedford that Apple CarPlay was the most important feature to us, and yet they sold us a brand new vehicle for $40,000, but doesn’t have properly functioning Apple CarPlay.

Engine transmission problems

I had engine and transmission problems with the vehicle one month after purchase. The vehicle had 1000 miles and the first issue that I had was with the transmission, the vehicle went off the gears and the second issue I had engine failure around 1700 miles.

Brand new car that is broken

Paid cash for a brand new car and it came with broken trim on the back door. It's been 3 weeks and the dealer had to get corporate involved to try and fix it. Totally pathetic and disappointing that they sell me a car that's already broken and more disappointing that they can't fix it. It's still being resolved but I am not feeling comfortable the way it's being handled. Also the trim on my door of my dashboard don't line up and now they're telling me it's a safety issue with the airbag and they may have to give me a new car. Such a pain in the neck when you should be having a problem for experience when you pay cash up front for a brand new car.

Dissatisfied

Car is unreliable has no power has been in the shop for five days in the two months I’ve owned it. Brand new car and the rotors and brakes were warped engine light constantly coming on nobody knew what was wrong. I had to keep it in the shop for three days has no power. I will get rid of this vehicle as soon as possible.

Very disappointed with this vehicle

The cluster went out exactly two weeks after purchasing the vehicle. There is a ridiculously inefficient process for getting a replacement cluster that is ready to install, so I have been driving this lemon longer without being able to view anything on the cluster than I did when it was functioning.

I did my research but the research does not show how slow and inefficient this vehicle is. It causes me more frustration and more money in gas. The controls were not set up at test drive to get to understand the slowness and lack of proper function safety concerns

Lemon!

Vehicle was back at the dealer the day after purchase and twice in the first week of ownership. It was declared unserviceable at less than 1000 miles. Dealing with Hyundai corporate has been a slow, difficult and frustrating process.

This particular vehicle lacks features. I have owned 3 Sante Fes prior to this purchase. I have always been pleased. This particular vehicle is a real trade down. I am sorry I purchased it. I always loved my others and don't get a bit excited in this one.

Poor reliability immediately upon purchase.

Immediately noticed issues the moment I purchased. 300 miles in lost power could only get to 2k rpm and 30 mph. Second time at 1200 miles transmission won’t shift out of drive. Happened twice in a row. I Had to get vehicle towed to dealer. First time couldn’t figure out the problem. The second time still waiting for a resolution. At this point I’ve had the vehicle at the dealership as long as I’ve owned it.

The dealer sale my vehicle damaged

the dealer sold me a damaged car and they were very rude to me when they repaired it twice, they treated me very badly and they kept my car for 8 days and then they gave it to me without fixing it because I didn't have an appointment, then I took it with an appointment and they fixed it but it only lasted a week and it was damaged again and then they kept the car for two days but I don't trust it because I'm afraid because I don't know where it could damage me and leave me stranded

rear driver side window make loud noise when rolling back up like it is out of alignment. rear right side outside door panel pop out . yellow usb power cable was stick out of center console was never connect from factor. and lastly oil leaked out of engine recently after first dealer oil change.

Transmission issues! Possible lemon!

I purchased my 2023 Santa Fe XRT in November of 22. Test drove the vehicle and everything seemed great. On the drive home I switched drive modes from comfort to sport and vehicle jerked HARD. Not even 100 miles on the vehicle. My passenger and I were both a bit shook up. This is my first time ever purchasing a Hyundai, I am used to jeeps, but my sister and her husband have owned them for years, never had any issues, so I just assumed that perhaps it was me getting used to a new vehicle. WRONG. Ive been having issues consistently, every day for the last 7 months since purchase. There is next to no power when accelerating, it hesistates when you hit the gas and takes forever to get up to speed, dangerous if you are at a stop light and it turns green and vehicles are quickly approaching you from the rear. There is a constant lurching when holding steady speeds. First it started when the vehicle was on a slight incline going anywhere from 30 to 40mph. However now it happens every single time I drive the car, no matter where I'm. The vehicle shifts gears so HARD, it makes me think the transmission is going to just fall out of it. Often times when accelerating from a complete stop at light or stop sign, vehicle will not switch from 1st to 2nd gear, and when it finally does, the whole vehicle jerks forward. If the vehicle isnt lurching forward while driving, it feels like its sputtering, almost as though the engine isnt recieving enough fuel to keep the engine running. No dash lights and RPMs do not move when any of the lurching or sputtering happens. Ive had into 2 different Hyundai dealers. The first one said they "could not duplicate the issue" and said they did a transmission software update, but that did not fix the issue. Returned 2 weeks later for the same issue and took the vehicle on a test drive with my service advisor and of course again, could not duplicate the issue. I kept feeling as if I was crazy for describing issues that could not be duplicated. The wait time for the vehicle to even be diagnosed was 5 days minimum, and no loaner vehicle available. Its just me and I live 45 mins from the closest Hyundai dealership, and I can't not have a vehicle so I could not leave. I took it to another Hyundai dealer about an hour away from me and described all the issues I was having, and thankfully the service manager believed me. We both noted that some of the issues Im having are notable within hybrid vehicles, or vehicles with dual clutch transmission, which mine does NOT have. Service manager said that he has not heard of any other Santa Fes with similar issues, which is understandable considering it is still so new. Im currently on a waiting list for a loaner vehicle, but I am #10 in line. Issues are getting worse by the day. Had my brother in law take it for a spin but again could not replicate the issue. Drove my sister's hyundai as she said that she has similar experiences with the lag in acceleration and said "thats just how Hyundai transmissions are." This week the issues are getting so bad that every single passenger I've had with me in the car has asked what is going on. Thankfully the second dealership has been keeping me updated on getting me a loaner vehicle to be able to take mine it. If this is "how Hyundai transmissions are" then someone needs to get back to the drawing boards because it is a safety hazard. Not only dangerous for me, but others on the road. The vehicle is brand new, I should not be having these issues. If the dealership cannot identify the issue and repair, I'll be trading in for another Jeep. I heard only good things about Hyundais so I figured I'd give them a shot, but starting to regret that.

Beautiful vehicle with electronic issues

I bought the 2023 Santa Fe SEL and had to call roadside assistance 3 times in less than 3 wks because it either failed to start or it shut down when shifting from park to drive. After owning it for 36 days of which 13 of those it was in the shop, I traded it for the Hyundai Calligraphy at a substantial financial cost. The vehicle was beautiful and the sales and service people were wonderful. BUT I couldn’t chance being stuck somewhere waiting for roadside assistance again. So, now I’m trusting that the Calligraphy is a reliable vehicle.
