10-Year 100,000-mile Warranty, America's Best? Yeah Right! Cause it needs it, too bad they don't honor it!

This nightmare started when we got a 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy AWD. I was out of the country for work and had a Santa Fe for a couple of weeks as a rental. I liked the way it looked, and I enjoyed driving it. I took pictures of it and sent them to my wife, and she liked it so much that we went to check it out and test-drive it when I came home. We decided to trade in my wife's 2023 Ford Expedition King Ranch Max with 8k miles on it since she did not drive it much because it is a big SUV, and since the Santa Fe is much smaller she liked it. Again, she doesn't drive it much because she has a 2019 F150 as her daily. One day she wanted to take the Santa Fe to work but the "Transmission System error, Check transmission oil immediately!" warning came on the dash, the car only had 1230 miles on it, took it to the dealership and after they checked it they said they could not find anything nor duplicate the error and to take it back and come back if it happens again. Two weeks later when my wife wanted to take it to work the warning came back on again, this time I took it to a closer dealership since I didn't want to drive it with the warning light on, since it shifted very late and hard. The second dealership checked it and told me that there was little to no oil in the transmission, and told me there might be a leak. Again it only had 1230 miles. I told them there was no oil leak since there was nothing in our garage floor, and then they said that if that's the case it might have been shipped without oil from the factory.... Are you kidding me? So after they filled it with oil, I took it back and called the original dealership to ask them how they couldn't see that there was no oil and if they even bothered checking it, they got their service manager involved and they told me that the code it had was for a faulty transmission module and that pretty much it needs a new transmission, I called Hyundai and at first, they asked me if I want them to buy it back or do I want a replacement. Since it was my wife's car I wanted to ask her first, and after she said she didn't feel comfortable driving it I called back Hyundai, but this time they said they couldn't do anything. I asked them since it already had a code saying it had a bad module would they at least replace the transmission, Hyundai said that since the code was cleared they wouldn't do it until the code came back. Well, I am in talks with a Lemon Law attorney now to get this issue solved since they wouldn't honor their so-called 10-year 100,000-mile warranty at 1230 miles. I should have never bought a Hyundai and I can't believe I was about to buy an Elantra N..... I will never recommend a Hyundai to anyone and will always share my BS experience with Hyundai. It's sad because I am Korean American and I was proud of how much progress Hyundai made, but I guess it was only skin deep.

Love the Santa Fe

The Santa Fe gave us the extra room we need to go on trips and I did not have to list to kids complain. Love the feature setup and it gets good mileage. Seats was comfortable, and price was in our budget.

Taken advantage of by the dealership

This dealership took advantage of me when I went to have my old Santa Fe checked out. I’ve also recollected from multiple financing companies that I was approved for a lower payment than I received and my payment is ridiculously high. I will be giving the car back and taking a hit on my credit.

A comfortable and spacious, its roomy and ample legroom, if you have the 3rd seat, it does not give you too much space for luggage, it is a comfortable ride and responsive steering and fuel efficient

worst Key Less and Proximity entry system - driver door not centered

KEY LESS AND PROXIMITY ENTRY SYSTEM I visited Hyundai twice and will do a third time before I lemmon this car. My key less and proximity entry does not work properly. Sometimes I have the KFOB in my hand and it still does not open the car. It takes multiples attempts. This situation is more frequent when I have the KFOB in my pocket of my backpack. It defeats the purpose of having a keyless and proximity entry system. I will be recording videos and uploading that to social media. DRIVER’S DOOR NOT WELL CENTERED There is a visible misalignment in the drivers door. They told me I would need to take my car to the shop, which means me not having a car. OVERALL I have 10K miles in this car, and it is already giving me problems. My wife wanted to get another for her, and no we are deciding to move away from Kias and Hyundais. The car is good, but every day I am reminded how poor the quality of the key less and proximity entry system is.

Massive electronic issues at 2000 miles

Unfortunately, right as the car hit 2000 miles it began to be riddled with electronic issues… It is now been in the shop for over a month with no diagnosis for a fix as of yet.

Poor purchase.

The car I chose was what I thought to be a high quality, exciting and comfortable auto. It turns out to be a very nice looking piece of junk. I should have gotten the message when I was shopping and the car I was destined to buy had a dead battery. I was assured it was no problem and it would be fine. I took delivery and three days later the battery was dead again. I took it to service and didn't recieve the warm welcome I thought I would get when my $55,000 new car broke down after three days, but no, the service techs were short and along with the service manager told me that in reality I am nothing special and that I would have to wait my turn and that there was no loaner car for me. At this time I requested to speak with the service manager. We had a reasonable conversation and he provided a car. After the week I received a call saying to come pick my car up. I did and was reassured that it was all taken care of. WRONG. After driving a few days, my wife and I were going on a trip to Lake Michigan and got in the car and it was dead again! We had it towed in 3 weeks ago. I am still waiting for it to be diagnosed and then I will get it back and I am supposed to trust it. Not sure of the ending, but keep posted. I am sure it will be an interesting.

Sleazy Dealership

I would give Hyundai of Kenosha zero stars. They lied to me about my trade in price over the phone by over $7,000. They then tried to force me to take add ons that I didn't want saying there was no way to buy the vehicle without them. (They begrudgingly removed them except for one, a cheap plastic strip that goes on the door edges that they charged $900 for when it is not even $10 in material.) They told me they were selling my trade in to carmax and then 2 weeks later it was for sale at their lot for $86k (2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe E-SC with 5k miles) when they proclaimed they would only get $72k from carmax. Complete liars all around at the dealership. I will never go back and it makes for a very poor look on Hyundai as a brand.

6400 miles and it’s been in the shop 20 consecutive days

Lift gate quit working. Next day alarm system continuously malfunctions. This all happened 500+ miles from home. Horn honked and lights flashed every 3 minutes, all night at a hotel! Had to pull the fuse to stop horn from honking. Worried flashing lights would run down car. Had to empty car so it could be left unlocked therefore not triggering alarm system. Not a great feeling , three women, one disabled, traveling alone and unable to lock car. Made it home, couldn’t get an appointment at dealer for two more days. Got in car to take to dealer, dead battery! Had to call AAA. Been in shop 20 straight days. They have isolated issue to one fuse they said controls many things. They replaced light gate motor and the lift gate still doesn’t work. Obviously very disappointing.

Horrible. Last Hyundai

I’ve had the car for two months and been to the service center twice already. And these are not petty issue. One is a spark plug issue where I had to take it in, they told me it was fixed only to pick up the car and had to drop it off again because they didn’t tighten anything. Second one is an electronic issue where no safety feature works. The brakes are even an issue and this happened on the freeway. It’s 2025 consistent issues should not a discussion anymore.

It lacks details and some issues

Issues: Sometimes when I get into the car, air comes out of the vent. I don't know how that is possible unless it is consuming battery without my intension. Also whenever I turn on the engine, I hear the trunk closing even though it wasn't open. I also expeienced that it won't close or open with the trunl button so I sometimes have to close it manually. Everytime I put on the brake on the freeway especially on the downhill, I can feel the vibration on my foot. I had similar issues with Palisade. Lacking details: Everytime I wash the car, it leaves a water mark underneath the side mirrors. It seems like there is a gap between the side mirrors and the doors (very annoying). Some of the side pannel and side sill is not assembled perfectly. The warning sound when I get too close to an object in front of my car would not turn off even though my car is stopped unless I put the gear in PARK. The blind spot warning sign on the side mirrors is hard to see during daytime. Overall, compared to the Palisade I drove before Santa Fe, Santa Fe lacks some details that need attention

Lemon

Issues with this vehicle from the beginning. Traded after 3 months for a Palisades. I hope I have better luck. Very disappointed and the fact that I took a hit on the trade in too.

Do Not Buy a 2025

At 3,500 miles and it needed a new transmission. 2024-2025 have a Dual Clutch Transmission with known issues. Hyundai is changing to a different transmission after just 2 years. 2026 has an entirely new transmission. That’s admission of a faulty product if there ever was one.
