Economical, comfortable and reliable

I have owned one or more Hyundais (both Elantras and Sonatas) continually since 2003, and I have found them to be extraordinarily reliable and great values. We purchased this 2013 Hybrid Sonata in 2017 in 'like new' condition. The comfort and performance are remarkable, regularly providing 40+ mpg. If this vehicle is like the other Hyundais we've had, I expect it will serve us well and long.

2013 Sonata Hybrid

Great gas mileage, over 40 mph on highway driving, comfortable, handles well, quality finishing on the interior. You do feel a lot of the bumps on the road.

Love my hybrid

Have drive this car since I bought it in 2014. Attracted to the newer models, but mine is in such great shape and has had zero problems. Haven’t even had any minor annoyances, let alone mechanical issues. Will definitely go to Hyundai next time we buy. Great value and dependable.

Poor performance

This car did not get even close to the gas mileage promised by Hyundai and I had quite a few problems with the car. I am so glad that I purchased the extended warranty.What I also learned about my car when I bumped a pole in my parking spot is that with a simple bumper dent you must replace the whole bumper to repair it.

Good Lookin car Great gas mileage

If you are looking for a hybrid vehicle for the gas mileage benefit then the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is the way to go! It has a very nice sleek look that you can't even tell it is a hybrid unlike other hybrid vehicles. It has been a good reliable car and with the Amazing warranty it comes with I have the comfort and peace of mind that if anything happens I can get the help needed to get it taken care of.

Beautiful car but too many electronic problems

My Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is a beautiful car but I've had several bad experiences with its electronics . Several trips to the dealership for badly diagnosed electronic hybrid related problems. It took 4 different trips to the dealer for them to finally fix a battery problem that left me stranded 3 times. The most recent problem was my transmission. My transmission broke after 67,000 miles . Very scary and dangerous experience when my transmission failed on the tollway in the fast lane at 75mph with other drivers behind me. I got the car towed to the dealer and they diagnosed it as a transmission problem with the electronics being completely fried. The service rep was great with me and got me in a courtesy vehicle but it took them the better part of 2 weeks to get a new transmission in and installed. I just don't have the same confidence driving it anymore as I have with previous cars that I have had. I still have my previous car as a backup A honda accord with 260,000 miles with the original transmission and original engine. Looking at trading in my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid as soon as I have the time. It's really too bad because I actually really like the car . Its a gorgeous car inside and out but these hybrid electronic problems are unacceptable.

Transmission slippage

The vehicle has 54,000 miles on it. Sometimes when accelating, the engine races wirhout the car increasing speed for a couple of seconds, then the car goes back to normal operation.

Not just a method of transportation!

My Hyundai Hybrid brings more value to the dollar! The 'extras' that I kept finding as I owned this car, kept confirming the fact that I had made the right decision in purchasing it. As I abandoned the 'Detroit' manufacturers, I have realized that my guilt was unfounded. I now am a die-hard Hyundai owner!
