3 yrears and still very happy

I have owned other hybrids from another auto manufacturer over the years. None compare with my Sonata Hybrid. Keep building them and we will come. Very, very happy!!! Keep you the great work!!! I have recommended this vehicle many times to friends and some have bought!

An unusual vehicle

This sedan is a top of the line Sonata Hybrid Plug-in. It is equipped with many features found on more expensive automobiles. It is relatively quiet, has an electric only range of about 25 miles. In city driving, if I go less than 25 miles, my overall mpg is near 100 mpg! However, for a vehicle costing $40,000, there are a number of irritating problems: The gas cap must be put on correctly after filling as the fuel system of this car is pressurized. An engine warning light comes on, but of course, there is no indication of what has gone wrong. This has happened several times over the past two years. The vehicle has a great warranty, but there is no bumper to bumper warranty, so expect to pay $60 to $80 for scheduled inspection and oil change. Driving this vehicle, it never feels solid and steady. I am constantly adjusting with steering input to keep the vehicle straight on course. This apparently is just inherent with the tires and suspension. Too bad, as my previous sedan (VW Passat) was rock solid and a pleasure to drive.

Outstanding

I love my Sonata hybrid. It consistently gets around 40 mpg, is peppy and well designed. I love the panoramic roof and especially the smart cruise control. The only slight annoyance is thinly padded seats and a little bit of suspension chatter. But I'm not complaining too much since it already has 140,000 miles on it and shows no signs of wear.

Constant problems

I purchased my car in May of 2016. I had to take it in for a service less than a year later. The Refill Inverter Coolant light has come on at least 3 times. I have had to take it in for service 3 times since August of 2018. In October, a warning light came on telling me turn off the engine immediately while I was on the way to work. I barely made it back home and the car had to be towed to the dealership. It was there for over a week until 10/30/18. Yesterday, one month later I was shopping close to the dealership and the Refill Inverter Coolant light came on again. I took it to the dealership, but they didn't have a loaner car to give me and I live over 30 minutes away. They topped off the coolant and I made ANOTHER appointment for 12/4/18.

While I was originally suspicious of the claims made about Hybrid vehicles... I am now happy to report my satisfaction with the choice. Mileage claims have been proven in both local and long drive situations. Over 600 miles on a tank on several trips over the past two years.

Great vehicle. Glad I bought it.

Very satisfied with the vehicle Would recommend to others. Probably the best vehicle I ever owned. Drivers license obtained in 1968 when gas was 9 cents a gallon. Since I am very tall I still have no problem with the leg room or seat. The only other car I owned that might have been fun to drive was a 1969 VW bug with a manual transmission.

Love it. Very good looking and very easy to operate all the tech that comes with it.

This is my second hybrid from Hyundai, 4th Hyundai. Best cars on the road! The service departments I have gone to are all very good. Hyundai has wonderful people working for them. My next vehicle will be a Hyundai, also. Love these vehicles.

How can I give a positive review with doubt as to what the end result is going to be? I feel that all I say or write goes out the door after I leave. I am now looking for a car to buy for another replacement, but not looking at Hyundai

Happy with my Sonata Hybrid.

So many bells and whistles; I love my car and the things it can do, the way it drives, the way is feels on the road. I only wish I could turn off the ding-dong bell when I get out of the car and forget to push my driver's seat back. It really drives me nuts; other than that issue, I love the car.

2016 Sonata Hybrid Limited

The second Sonata Hybrid we have owned and this one that has all the bells and whistles is the best automobile we have ever owned. We feel very safe and comfortable driving it in every kind of traffic and weather! We receive many compliments regarding its sportiness and color which is seamist green.

Bad car or just bad luck?

Might never buy a hybrid again. Love the look and style, just haven't been impressed with the hybrid system. Seems like a traditional vehicle might be better for me. Not sure if it just my car or all of this model

Hyundai has no respect for their customers

Hyundai builds a good car, but if there are problems you ar better off with another manufcturer. I like the style inside and out. There is pleanty of power. Lots of safety features. Good milage. The car is very comfortable and quiet on the road

Consistently delivers value

We purchased our 2016 after having our 2012 hybrid. The difference in model years was the reason! Many improvements and we consistently get 36+ MPG running around town and over 40 on the road. Air conditioned seats are a plus in Florida and the fold down rear seat are a benefit. We have never been so pleased with a vehicle and the dealership made sure we got the exact vehicle we were looking for, based on our criteria.

Needs

I need a vehicle that gives good gas mileage and comfort. My mother is 94 and is in poor health in assisted living 12 hours away. The sonata hybrid gave me 39 mph. Driving from my house to mom, with the comfort of home including pandora radio stations. Sunroof to see the sky, cruise control and land correction warning.

A perfect little ride

We really enjoy this hybrid and would probably not ever go back to a "standard" vehicle ever again!! We can go almost 3 weeks on a fill up, what more could you ask for,,,we like the fact that the passenger front seat can be raised also.

2016 Sonata Hybrid

I bought this car with some reservations but I have been proven wrong to worry. 1) Excellent car 2) spacious 3) excellent acceleration when needed 4) Very economical, I have been able to get between 39.8 to 41.0 MPG on long drives out of state and 36.2 to 39.1 with the air condition on 80% of the time during summer time. I recommend this car to those individual doing UBER, LIFT or any transportation for hire. This car has a larger than average trunk that accommodates more luggage than usual.

Great Features, Horrible Reliability, Mediocre Fuel Economy

I bought this car for a reason: great value, awesome features, great warranty. I called it my poor man’s Lexus with a look and feel of a car worth $20k more. Unfortunately, the reliability has turned Hyundai love into Hyundai hate, and I might spend the extra $20k after all in service fees.

Most amazing vehicle I have ever owned.

This was my first hybrid, and it won't be my last. This vehicle gives me the incentive to save money, and I am saving a lot more than I ever anticipated. I can control my own savings by my driving style. What I REALLY love about this car, is how it automatically recharges the battery system for the HEV . There is no need to plug in a charger. Also when the gasoline engine is needed, it starts seamlessly without us even hearing a sound. Why, the battery even charges when we use the brakes. We would highly recommend the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to anyone. It is AWESOME!! About as close to perfect in all respects.

Too low front end

My 2016 Sonata Hybrid is a great car!! Only one thing needs to change -- the front end is too low and constantly scrapes the curbs in parking lots -- besides losing the finish - it hangs up sometimes and cause the fender to come free
