Nice Car but known to have trouble starting

I bought this car from a private owner for my teenage daughter a few months ago. In the beginning I thought it was the best car ever. No problems, until it started having problems starting after you gas up. The problem got worse to the point where its hard to start every time. We have replaced the Purge Valve, Throttle Body Sensor and the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve and it's still having problems. Next step is the fuel pump and praying that will fix the problem. Besides all of that, I love the car. It drives and rides nice.

14 Years Strong

I am the sole owner of my 2003 Sonata. I service it regularly and according to recommended schedule. It is a great car with few major repairs, due to general wear and tear. Gas mileage could be better, but it is average compared to other 2003 cars. When I pump gas, it constantly cuts off, like its full. I've read this is typical for this model car. It's irritating to say the least.

Workhorse

My 2nd Sonata. Seriously dependable. Love the sunroof (moonroof?!? what's the difference?) Next one will have heated leather seats. Newer ones are very nice! If you have an issue with brake lights not working, trying having the rubber grommet replaced. Do not listen to the dealer telling you it's the fuse box!

This is the best automobile I have ever owned and I have owned quite a few in my 60 plus years. The only problems I have ever had has been caused by me. When it finally gives out, I will definitely get another Hyundai Sonata.

Second Sonata I have owned.

The Sonata is the best car I have ever owned. When I first got it, it looked a lot like a new Jag. The Sonata has more Buck for your dollar. I only wish I had kept my 1969 Olds Cutlass. Won't make the same mistake with my Sonata.

2003 Sonata

Have been happy with this auto since. purchase. Never have had serious problems. Only wish i could but a later model, but I'm very happy with this one. Always take it back to dealership for service, because I feel they are more dependable. Have used local garages on earlier cars, believe they far less dependable.

I LOVE MY 2003 SONATA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This car is so perfectly designed. It has the feel of a big car, drives easily, and is very stylish and roomy. I've had normal maintenance with the car, and even though it is older now, I am still not ready to give it up. I prefer it over the newer model and I wish I could buy the same car all over again, unless I can get a Genesis!

I would buy this car all over again! It is roomy, drives well in both summer and winter months, has required standard maintenance and has held up well over the last 10 years. Please give me another one in silver!

2003 Sonata

After 12 years of not being garage kept, it still looks good barring a bit of rust on wheel well. Then an additional year of being kept in a garage BUT adding 60 miles of daily driving time 5 days a week in it's 13th year, the performance Is excellent. Will hate to sell or trade in but will need to soon.
