Tucson hybrid summary

Poor mpg. Nice looking front lighting but not great at night. Panoramic roof only opens partially. Lack of front camera views. Touchscreen poor choice from mfr. constantly needs cleaning. Controls take away from driving vs some knobs. Wipers cannot be lifted off glass for weather purposes.

The hybrid version

the 2023 Tucson hybrid SEL convenience package window sticker says it's supposed to get 37 miles per gallon, however it is only getting 26 miles to the gallon. ALM Hyundai of Florence South Carolina the dealership does not return phone calls and keep pushing it off claiming it has to be broken in I now have over 2000 miles on the vehicle and still 26 miles to the gallon. Stay away from ALM Hyundai of Florence they have the worst after sale customer service in the world.

Low fuel economy! Not even close to what they claim.

I thought my fuel economy would get better after driving it a while but it only got worse. I hope there’s something wrong with my Tucson so they can fix it. It would be a shame if all Tucsons sucked this bad.

They Lied about MPG dont buy this

MPG with Hybrid is supposed to be 38MPG, and at best you get 32 if you really try to drive as slow as possible. They got sued for this years ago and never changed, all one big lie. My only hope now is another class action lawsuit against them.

Tuscon Hybrid

The hybrid doesn't get good gas mileage, nowhere near the sticker. It gets worse mileage on the highway, in cold weather and just overall. The price for the vehicle is too much for it to get terrible gas mileage.

Buyer beware

Engine light came on 3 times within first three months of owning my brand new Tucson hybrid--something about the emission control system--causing me to have to bring it into the dealership multiple times. Service at my dealership was very poor--they had to order a part that still hasn't come in (10 days later), and they have no idea when it'll be in, so it's still not fixed. I asked to talk to a manager the last time I called, but I was told he was busy & that he'd call back--but I received no call back. Sad that I bought a hybrid for better emissions, but that's the system in the vehicle that's not working as it should. Overall, poor quality vehicle, and poor quality of service. This is the first Hyundai I've purchased, and quite possibly the last. Sad.

Good looking car, good ride, possible design flaw

Love the ride and the appearance of the Tucson Hybrid. However, the noise/vibration that started a few weeks after purchase plus the lack of customer service from dealer makes this a sub par brand. The second dealer still cannot find the issue to fix!!

After owning this car for three months and driving it, 3300 miles it broke down and had to be towed

I had the vehicle for three months and drove 3300 miles when the car broke down. My family and I were on vacation in Florida from North Carolina when a message came on the car, saying check hybrid system, and the car would not start. I called roadside assistance who had a tow truck come and bring the car to a Hyundai dealership. It took two days before anyone got back to me to tell me that they would look at the car the first chance they got, but they only had one technician who is familiar with the hybrid system. A corporate customer service rep contacted me and told me I could rent a car to get back home to North Carolina. It has been over a week and the car has not been repaired. This is totally unsatisfactory for a brand new car.

This car is a piece of garbage

There is a recall with the battery not cooling and it takes weeks to get a replacement part to the dealership. The dealer Napleton Hyundai in Palm Beach County Florida does not care once they have your money, their service treats you like garbage, they try to leave you without a loaner or a rental, and it can take weeks for them to get the part that has been recalled, and the car is undrivable without it.

Multiple problems!

Roughly two months after buying the car, A/C stopped blowing cold air. The A/C was not blowing cold air at any outside temperature. I took it to the dealership on 5/31/23 and the dealer fixed the A/C issue and gave me back the car on 6/27/23. As per the invoice copy the dealer seems to have replaced "Wiring Assy-Contr", "R-1234F REFRIGER", "INVERTER KIT-COMP" AND "BODY KIT-COMPRESS". These are lot of components for a new car to be replaced. Also, now I am facing another issue related to the Battery. The 12V Battery dies every time I turn off the car. The car doesn't get locked or unlocked. Media player remains On even if I turn off the car and step outside. Today is 6/27/23 and I purchased this car at the end of March. Roughly within three months this car is giving me all the issues and out of these three months, the car was almost parked at the dealership for one month. Disappointed with this purchase. I have to take the car to the dealership again to show them the Battery issue, Media player issue, lock & unlock issue.

Terrible gas mileage on the hybrid and poor safety and entertainment features.

This HYBRID only manages 26 MPG after 3,500 miles. So far short of what was advertised. The blind spot system misses cars and the infotainment system is tough to use. It looks nice and you can see where Hyundai tried to make a quality car but everything falls short of a satisfactory experience. This is so far behind Jeep, Mazda, Tesla. Stay far away from this brand and car.

Bad quality parts

Cheap plastic cheap material very cheap interior seats have no cushions very bad seat cloth also is very very dirt attractive hard to clean carpet is cheap also i wont buy it if i have a choice now please change the quality

Hybrid isn't worth the issues

My service tech told me the majority of the vehicles coming into their shop are new hybrids. Wish my sales guy had mentioned this. ? Not worth the price. Too many issues for a brand new vehicle. I won't buy hyndai again.

Hyundai does not provide customer service as claimed

My brand new Hyundai (less than 8000 miles) broke down because at a bad rear wheel sensor. I was 400 miles from home and incurred expenses related to the breakdown. It took several weeks to repair the vehicle and Hyundai refused to reimburse me for reasonable transportation costs while the vehicle was being repaired. And my return to the dealership to retrieve my car.

Total rip off

This car is the worst purchase I've ever made in my life. It is slow, shudders off the line and does not get claimed gas mileage no matter how slow you go. Hyundai's customer service is even worse- I showed numerous employees the 20-22 MPG i was getting and nobody cared, they said yea its heavier with the battery. Me and my family will never purchase from Hyundai again- friends have been in the car and laughed saying they would never either.

Drives well but not dependable

If I don’t drive it within 24 hours everything shuts down and I have to use key to open doors and then hit the battery button for it to start. To pay almost $40,000 for this car. The first year was great 2nd year started having problems and they said this was normal to protect the battery which I feel is a lie. It’s a defect and they know it.
