Great SUV Hybrid, sadly held back from being Excellent
Owner of 2025 Tucson Hybrid Limited - white for 5 months and just drove two, 9 hour days south to Florida. Overall style, ride comfort, conveniences, including 360 camera, safety features, steering assist, MGPe are great. Things we wish were different or offered:
1. Auto liftgate triggered only by key/phone is insufficient. Should be able to open via wave of foot under rear like our Ford Edge had. Too many time, the gates opens when yiu pass by and can't get away fast enough in 5 seconds. Several times, we've dangerously found the tailgate opened w/o being aware.
2. Limited should have adaptive headlights. Not used to dealing with darkness turning into streets on rural roads.
3. No included spare is a bad idea. Had to purchase $500 kit separately. Fix a flat included not sufficient if pothole destroys the tire.
4. Limited not having auto fold in side mirrors is disappointing.
5. Not a fan of the look of teardrop design of tail lights.
6. Limited should include illuminated sill plates. Our sales person told us it was, but turns out it was a $500 add on in the test vehicle we drove. Dealership should pay for it due to misleading us.
7. We have received low battery warnings in app several times when car was parked in garage for 5-7 days. Liftgate needs to be opened as workaround to unlock other doors. Have to use button jump small battery in.order to reset and drive car. Troubling.
