New Car

Some features are not available such as setting seat preferences for different drivers. Should be a basic feature for price of car. Other issues like this as well but I can’t remember them all. Can’t lock the door without the key close by-Not always convenient if I am in my own driveway. Can’t unlock the car from house and then go into car- car locks itself back before I can get to it. Even with lane assistance turned off the car tries very hard to keep you in the lanes which is great, but I feel like I am constantly fighting my steering wheel and I’m not driving outside of the lines. Once I was close to a car when I stopped - there was no emergency yet my car locked me down in traffic and almost got me killed because I couldn’t move the car for a minute. I don’t like being overridden by technology. You can’t change user profiles while the car is in gear- even if you are the passenger trying to switch users- but it allows you to press all other buttons on screen while driving for CarPlay, the media, the maps, etc.

Comfortable and Feature-Rich, but Safety System Caused Major Concern

I loved this car at first — it drives well, looks great, and has strong features for the price. However, a recent experience with the Forward Collision-Avoidance system has shaken my confidence and made me scared to drive it. The system braked suddenly without cause, putting me and others at risk. I bought it new and was excited about everything it offered. For the most part, it has been a smooth and stylish ride. But one day, the Forward Collision-Avoidance system stopped the car abruptly in the middle of the road — no warning, no clear danger, and the car completely locked up. It was traumatizing and dangerous. Hyundai needs to address this immediately. It’s hard to recommend the vehicle fully until that’s resolved.

Comfy but lackluster

I purchase cars based on the driver's seat and the Tucson won this time around. However, it's extremely narrow height-wise to get into. Sometimes the back doors don't unlock and it's very inconvenient to have to touch the front doors first. Car practically gave us whiplash when we approached another car on the freeway and it stopped all of the sudden - fully spilled our coffee! Media is not intuitive and difficult to determine how to get back to particular modes i.e. Sirius, CarPlay, etc

Mixed feelings

I like the car but have been disappointed that it has several annoying quirks and has already required a fairly major repair. With all its features, it seemed like a good value, but after some issues I’ve experienced, I’m questioning whether I made the right choice. I had owned Toyotas before, and if buying again I might not choose the Tucson. Mixed feelings about the car.

Fan for heater does not shut off when you shut the car off

I have phone calls and it doesn't connect to the car speaker. Not sure if the electric engine is being used. Not sure of the electric usage. I hear it running but the Hybrid shows no usage. The cargo hatch opens if I walk to close to it.

It's good but sound system has issues yeah

The vehicle is good but the speakers might have an issue one in particular on the driver side a reverberates when sound plays and takes away from the experience

Lots of tech, but not all there

Overall an ok car. It's packed with tech, but always defaults to a single setup. Was debating hanging a checklist up to make sure I put all my personal settings back in before I drive. Switching drive modes is the only thing I still do hoping smart actually does something. Not remember your regen brake settings is just stupid and actually dangerous since the car will not handle the same. Car also breaks way to early and has left me at a dead stop in the middle of an intersection or gotten me almost rear-ended on multiple occasions. I have also found issues with paint peeling within the first 2 months. Lastly, it doesn't get the mileage I was hoping for. I am barely breaking 30 MPG during normal commuting, which tends to be heavy traffic. The electric motor is not strong enough to do much besides coast while slowly slowing down. There is also no indication of when the gas motor will come on, so it near impossible to know how much throttle you can give it in electric to stay there. Overall it's an ok car, but a huge let down from what I was expecting.

New / last car

Am 83. My 2019 Tucson had so much more on it than this one does; heated steering wheel, cooling seats are on top of my list for comfort. Drives great. Don’t know if getting great mileage or not. Would loved to have rented this vehicle for a week to see if satisfied with it.

1. Gear shift terrible 2. Center console design ridiculous 3. Some technology features are more of a hazard. Approaching a car and automatic brake is more dangerous than safe 4. Rides nice

Pros cons issues noticed after driving 2 months.

Very poor gas mileage when using cruise control option. Lots of external noise/wind from door/window seals. Rain/water gets into crevices and takes a long time to drain. Worried about winter snow/salt.

Not Thrilled

I don't care for the ventilation system. A week ago I left my garage and felt something off, pulled over to discover a flat. There was no signal of a problem. And then, discovered that there was NO SPARE tire!

Love almost everything about the car. Except the loud wind noise sound

The wind noise is extremely annoying. Hyundai service said they cannot find anything abnormal with the car. Which means the loud wind sound is normal or a manufactureing defect they have no fix for.

poor design of console, wasted space, cannot see heat/cool controls

cannot get some local radio stations. radio cuts out when turn signal is used, signals sometimes do not turn off after turn, interior design poor console space is wasted , hard to access because of overhang of console, vehicle sometimes switches drive mode own its own.

Seems like a cool concept vehicle

Car is fancy and has some useful features, but there are some things to be aware of. First, transition between electric and gas is sometimes rough, even while maintaining a consistent speed and accelerator pressure. Sometimes the safety features react in inappropriately, especially when there is a car parked the wrong direction on the side of the road. The build quality on the sunroof can be iffy— mine rattles sometimes.
