Hyundai Tucson great car with high tech features

Became a fan of Hyundai after purchasing a Santa fr three years ago. I wanted a plug in hybrid SUV and decided to go with the Tucson. It was a great choice the two larger displays are great. Love how much tech is in the car. The wireless charging improved a lot from my 2022 Santa Fe.

A lot of vehicle for the price

The vehicle includes a lot of technology and features at a price lower than its direct competitors. The warranty terms are an added benefit. The "downside" is that the features could have been integrated better.

Poor placement of several features. The rocker switch on the center arm rest( to change from snow etc) is too easy to inadvertently trigger.

Lotsa bells n whistles

My main criticism is the lack of color choices. I say they offer 50 shades gray. Need some bright colors to choose from. I’m 3 months in and I haven’t mastered the door locks yet. Otherwise,fun to drive,excellent gas mileage and a beautiful car.

Nothing but awesome.

I love most everything about my car. The few things that make me pause a media related. I would like to have a view of my gas mileage, how many miles I’m getting between fill ups including battery (like 42 miles per range etc.). On the main screen that show the map, xm radio and battery, I would like to see the song title and artist as well. I love the comfort of my seats both passenger and driver. The on screen display is easy to use, the seat belts hit at a good hight. Cruise controls are intuitive. The lat thing I will mention is a negative and that is the cup holders, they do not hold my cup or bottles of soda well, I hold onto them when I turn a corner due to the looseness or you could say wiggle room!

Everything is awesome except the hybrid part

Interior is amazing. Exterior is sleek and has a unique design. 24hrs to charge at home is bad. Finding a charging station is also bad. Go with fully hybrid or regular automotive.

Almost great ... but not quite

1. Overall: Very good, very comfortable. 2. Too much "nanny" mode, e.g. can't shut off reminders about "take a break" 3. Door lock/unlock via proximity to key fob or iPhone is buggy and unreliable. 4. Drive system isn't as smooth as other EV's (such as our Tesla) when starting uphill from a stop or moving slowly uphill. 5. Surprising amount of front-end dive during emergency stop from 70mph. 6. Owner's manual is for all Tuscon models, not just plug-in hybrid. That makes it hard to look things up. (And the index in the manual is not adequate.) Example: how to put car into mode for automatic car-wash.

Very positive feeling about this vehicle

Don’t know what to say. It’s early in my experience with this vehicle. Many technical things to learn it takes time but all in all very solid well built vehicle with great handling pick up and comfort. I’m glad I bought it except I am in the early stages of charging the batteries Which might not have been worth getting the plug-in maybe should’ve just got the hybrid.

Nice and comfortable

I love the ride and the EV mode. Obviously I wish I could go farther in EV. We live in a rural area so I'm have to charge it after every trip. I miss my old vehicle's gas engine though as it was smoother when shifting and had the zip if I needed it. My main issue with my PHev is the technology bugs and it is not as user friendly as my last couple vehicles (different make). Quirky may be a good word.

Mostly Great Experience, but SCC & Regenerative Braking have issues.

I'm very glad to have been able to lease the 2025 Tucson PHEV in South Carolina (first year that it's available here), especially in the Limited Trim which offers a Head Up Display (HUD) and Surround View Camera (both of which are imperative for my driving). However, function of the Smart Cruise Control (SCC) has been extremely erratic and my local Hyundai dealership has not been able to fix it. I have previously owned many Hyundai vehicles with SCC (including my wife's 2025 Tucson HEV) and the SCC in my PHEV is obviously defective to the extent that it creates a safety hazard when it doesn't properly operate. Also, the Regenerative Braking system in my PHEV (compared with my wife's 2025 Tucson HEV) is very laggy to engage and the degree of engine braking is not consistent from ride to ride. Other than these two nagging issues, this is a great car for those seeking a state of the art PHEV.

Love it- but it has some quirks

why can’t the windshield wipers come up so I can wash the front window? Weird! And the safety feature that keeps the car in the center of the lane is very cumbersome. Wish it was optional during cruise control

Good quality vehicle

The Plug-In hybrid option is very good and increase the versatility of All-Electric cars because of the battery range. The peace of mind about driving long trips are well cover with this vehicle at any season of the year. Additionally, the four-wheel drive is a safe bet in any type of terrain. The only reservation is the lack of spare tire in the car. I would like to recommend to Hyundai to add a spare tire in the event of an emergency flat. An event like this will be very uncomfortable for anybody traveling in the middle of the country side.

Excellent choice for a PHEV

I am loving my Hyundai Tucson PHEV. It is super comfortable and feels safe. Corners nicely and has zip with acceleration. The base model has the adaptive cruise control and every feature I wanted, whereas that was always the higher end model (and more expensive) with comparable cars from other companies. Also really nice sound system. I am less thrilled that the collision warning comes on occasionally unexpectedly (but I am glad I have it in general) and I do wish for a longer range: The tank is small so it is nice to drive away from the gas station with paying less than $30, but it would be nice to have more than about a 350 mile range on one fill. (The review is asking me about reliability, which I am unsure of yet since I have owned the car for 4 months so far.)

Could be Better

I wish I realized that it only had an 11 gallon capacity tank that translates into maybe 400ish range . That slowed our trip to Florida. Finally figuring out how to run on just electric mode. One hint is to shut off heater. It used heat from the radiator which requires the engine to run. I wish the key fob lock confirmation was the horn. Hard to hear the little beep. Including a round trip to and from Florida-NY average gas mileage is settling around 41 MPG.
