Only one or two issues, gas lid does not open consistently and the car is .5 inches lower on the drivers side.

Nice Car, Fair Price

We like the PHEV, easy to use. Only option missing on this trim level is Garage Door opener built into the mirror or sun visor. Comfortable and quiet ride.

Overall Excellent Car

I am a previous owner of a 2023 Hyundai Tucson Plug--in Hybrid and a Genesis GV70. While I loved my GV70, I found that the Tucson was comparable in so many ways (and better is some), so much so that I sold the Genesis and bought another Tucson Plug-in Hybrid (a 2025). While I had no complaints about the 2023 Tucson, they did a great job on updating the interior of the 2025/2026 with larger screens and a more user friendly interior layout. Most of the driving my wife and I do (about 6,000 miles a year each) are within the 31 mile range of the plug-in Tucson, so we rarely have to put in gas. While it does use more gas in the winter than in the summer, I have found that in the warmer months I can go 3 or 4 months without having to get gas. Not only does the plug-in hybrid save money on gas (and eliminate the need for bi-weekly stops at the gas station), but the car is extremely quiet since it is usually running on the electric motor, with the gas engine typically coming on from time to time just to charge the battery, not to move the car. It has more excellent pickup, and a very smooth and quiet ride (not quite as smooth as the GV70, but not significantly different). This review only related to the Plug-in Hybrid version of the Tucson, since I know that the pickup on the non-hybrid version is significantly slower than that of the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid. My cars are both the Limited version, which is the only one I would consider because of all the features that come with that model, such as the overhead camera views, which I now can't imagine doing without. I have no complaints about the car, and have no hesitation in recommending it.

As Impressive or More So as My BMW X3

Over the last 10 years I've leased an Acura RDX, a BMW X3 and currently the Tucson PHEV. Given that all 3 are in the luxury category, I expected them to be similar in numerous ways re: driving performance, cabin comfort/appointments and reliability. The Tucson was/is up to the challenge in those categories, but where it scores higher in my opinion is the lease payment. While similar in pricing to the Acura RDX, the monthly payment vs the BMW X3 is MUCH more favorable. Yes, BMW is everything you'd think it would be re: road handling, cabin comfort, styling and durability, but (so far) the Tucson easily measures up. There are a few nit picks vs the X3 (i.e. the rear door opening feature only requires a leg kick vs standing for 8 seconds to wait for the Tucson's door to lift)...and the X3's having hydraulic pistons vs the manual stick on the Tucson to hold up the hood, but those are minor concessions. Having taken a few long road trips, the Tucson PHEV proved comfortable w a smooth ride and very little road noise. Its gas/electric range was/is slightly less than the Acura RDX and X3, but, again, a minor concession. Around town, the Tucson's been great vs the Acura RDX, which seemed to register every seam in the pavement, so I'd give the Tucson and the X3 higher marks for in town driving in terms of comfort. I live in a climate that gets 4 seasons w snow in particular Dec - April. The Tucson has performed on par w the Acura RDX and X3 handling wise. A slight ding would be a reduced battery charge 'e' wise, but cold temps affect every EV, so again, not a big deal. I'm happy I chose the hybrid and NOT the full electric as the charging still takes a good 6 - 11 hours overnight on a regular house current charger. Plus I never wanted to be in a position where I had to stop during a longer road trip to charge up for 3 hours or longer or worry about running out of juice (which has happened to friends of mine driving full EVs). I do miss the leg extension piece in the driver's seat that I had in the X3 as I'm tall and I liked the extra support, but it's a minor concession. The rear cargo area has approx the same as the RDX and X3...tho it's still pretty cramped to toss in 2 sets of golf clubs (the RDX and X3 had the same issue). Hyundai is really good about mailing and or emailing me service reminders, including discounts on maintenance. I've not had to use its roadside assistance, but I know it's available to me. Before leasing it I test drove the Honda CRV Hybrid, the Toyota RAV4 Prime, the KIA Sportage Plug In and the Mitsubishi Highlander Hybrid, finding the KIA and Tucson the most impressive (pretty much because they are manufactured by the same companies). Tho the RAV 4 Prime got the highest ratings on Consumer Report (89) vs Tucson PHEV (82) I preferred the Tucson...and was able to actually get one in my time frame. So far, I've really enjoyed the Tucson PHEV.

Love the vehicle

It is easy to get into and out of the vehicle. The car has good pick up and all systems and blue link work well. The battery is too small and takes to long to charge. The BlueLink is useful but has some computer glitches from time to time.

Great car, but need to fix the rug

Overall, we really like our 2025 Hyundai Tucson PHEV. But the rear floor mat is too big and doesn’t fit. We reported this problem before we purchased the car. We were told to take the car to service and they would resolve the problem. Service reported the problem to Hyundai, and Hyundai sent another rear format that is still too big/sloppy. Service says they’re still working on it, and I called Hyundai myself. But it’s been months with no resolution for a simple problem. Also, we love driving the car in electric mode, but it seems like if we turn on the heater or push the accelerator too hard, the car stays in hybrid mode and won’t go back to electric mode very easily.

I like the vehicle. Too much technology that you have to get used to.

Because there are a lot of buttons on the console, I am always accidentally putting the car in wheel lock when reaching for the controls on the dash. These buttons are too easily touched by accident

Great Car with Some Weaknesses in Tech

I absolutely love how it drives, super smooth and more like a small car than a suv. Its my first suv and a perfect intro one. I am finding the distance "assistance" and car take over does not work well and I turned it off because for me it created 2 hazardous situations.
