The worst vehicle ever....DO NOT BUY

I would never ever recommend this vehicle or any type of Hyundai to someone. We were duped when we bought it and now have no other choice to keep it and continue to deal with the contact issues with the vehicle. I have brought this vehicle in for more warranty issue to be fixed vs all my vehicles combined. Horrible manufacturer. I had to pick 2 due to the fact this survey will not allow you select 1 or less which it deserves.

The transmission is awful and the car shakes like a county fair roller coaster.

Since I bought this vehicle I have been having issues with my transmission. Jerky gear-shifting, shaking from stop to first and it overheated in stop and go traffic. A factory update was supposed to help, but it changed nothing. I've asked the dealership to check it out and they claim this is "normal" functioning. The car is under warranty and I haven't been able to get them to take this transmission issue seriously. Online there are lots of other complaining about the 2016 Hyundai Tuscon transmission as well. It's a known issue but at least one person I spoke to at the dealership claimed they had never heard of this before. I like the car in general, but feel scared to drive it in the city and terrified I'll get stuck in traffic on an interstate. I think I should feel safe and at ease driving a car that's only a couple years old and still under warranty.

Transmission

I hate the transmission in the Tucson. It doesn’t shift smooth. People riding in my car will ask “what’s wrong with your car?” I’ve had it back to the dealership multiple times and I’m always told that the way it’s designed. I’m stuck with the car for now......

Bad design

This car has a double clutch which is a major design flaw. When I first encountered the problem of trying to accelerate and the car not moving because it didn't do it when assessed by the service dept. it was not considered a problem. I complained again. Nothing. Time went by and I moved to another city. They knew exactly what the problem was and said it was only with the Tucson. They fixed it, then the company called noting that I had complained several times. They officially had the fix for it, which had already been done. It is not life threatening any more, but still a problem. Technology is far behind autos much older. I would definitely not have another.

worst car I have ever owned

I bought this car brand new, and was at first very happy. Then the transmission started jerking all over the place. have taken it in so many times, the service dept keeps telling me to file a complaint. I did and the woman (Marie) asked me if I went on youtube to learn how to drive the car!! I was livid. The dual clutch in theory may be good, but in actuality, they haven't refined it. They finally had to change my trans, saying that the clutch material was not good. Of course, that lasted for a bit and it started all over again. They now say there is a fix, they now have the part, but not the tool for installation. This is just crap. This is a lemon. I constantly have electrical issues. Side traffic detection, works sometimes, the voice recognition has never ever worked, I am so tired of this car. so many problems but the worst is the trans. I cant have anyone in my car because they are always asking if my car is going to die out. Sometimes it won't even go when I press the gas. I freak bought a brand new car. This is so upsetting. Claims do not want to give me a new car. They did however try to pay me off with a 1000.00 dollars after the transmission replacement. I declined because that would have been a settlement and of course I am back with the same issue. Huge regrets

Windows

I've never had as many issues with windows in a vehicle in my life, and the sad part is they are going to break again and everyone in the service department is like oh well. My wife has had a couple Hyundai cars, this is my first and last Hyundai vehicle I will ever buy!

Multiple fails

My tail light kept going out (3x). My engine completely failed at 39,000 miles with proper maintenance and when returned fixed wouldn’t start again five days later. For a vehicle bought brand new with only me as the owner it continues to let me down despite appropriate care for the vehicle.

Not the Hyundai quality I’m used to.

I bought my car less than 18 months ago and i have taken it in for service more than ten times. Problems include multiple broken door locks, several broken windows, turn signals that don’t stay on, windshield wipers that don’t respond to being turned on and off, locks that don’t work, etc.

Transmission Issues

The car is safe and a good deal but the transmission is AWFUL. I have taken it to the dealership to get looked at (apparently there is a recall on it) but it has continued to have the same issues. VERY jerky when accelerating which can be dangerous on highways

Hyundai does not use quality parts and materials.

I will not purchase another Hyundai based on our family experience with two NEW vehicles including the Elantra and a Tucson. Every time I’ve had an issue with my vehicle the issue has not been fully resolved upon the first visit, or I’m told there is nothing that can be done.

Hate it

I traded in a 2014 Santa Fe for the 2016 Tuscon. The quality and driving experience is extremely poor. I will probably never purchase another Hyundai because I hate this vehicle so much. The worst vehicle I've ever purchased.

Defective clutch, transmission and turbocharger

HMA is selling junk! Our 2016 Tucson has a defective dual clutch. HMA laughed at the issue. Their dealer finally replaced the DC after two plus years of misery- no acceleration and violent shaking. In doing so, they killed the transmission. Car could not shift into gear. HMA’s solution? Replace it with a used transmission. Then, the blades on the turbocharger started peeling apart. Quality? Hardly. Does HMA care? Hell no. HMA is non-responsive, arrogant, condescending, indifferent, careless, and reckless. AVOID HYUNDAI OR REGRET YOUR DECISION!

Love the looks

Love the look like the interior just the right size handles great90% of the time . It's that 10% I can't live with.fell in love with ride handling was great.There is one major problem the tucson sometimes will not go will not get off the line has a lag dead space then it just takes off not good when you need power to enter a heavy flow traffic Will not put a new driver at risk looking to replace Hyundai dealer ship has no fix that is way its suppose to work wife has questioned its Told all is good Not going to stay in my grave much longer 3 years is how long it's been found out there are a lot of unhappy 2016 tucson owners Hyundai knows they have a problem will they make it right or do we not know how to drive there car If they can't make this on work why should I buy new may get the same engineering a flaw I have to learn to live with SAFTY DEFECT

Defective DCT

I do not recommend Hyundai. The DCT transmission has a design defect that the customer ultimately pays for. My understanding is the 2016 & 2017 suffer from the design defect but wouldn't recommend it at all!

2016 Tuscon Turbo Transmission is terrible

I love everything about this car, sleek styling, well appointed but the transmission is a nightmare. Hyundai is not really doing anything about it. Very disappointing in the brand that I had so much faith in.

Broken door latch assembly

Could not open the door from the inside or outside. Very dangerous and unsafe. There should be a recall. Was 2000 miles past the warranty. Door latch was defective or poorly made. This is my third Hyundai. I never had trouble like this before. Very disappointing.

Too many issues

This car has given me the most problems. I bought it brand new. It jerks a lot and the transmission had to be replaced at 90,000 miles. My driver door recently stopped opening and short after the right side back door stopped opening. The volume button on the steering wheel went out a long time ago. Somehow a screw came loose in the steering wheel causing the steering to shake loudly at all times.

Hyundai Tucson 2016, please do not purchase

I keep coming back for the same recurring issues. There seems to always be a noise that can never be pinpointed to any specific thing. My transmission has failed twice so far and was fully replaced less than a year ago. They say it was the dual clutch, but that was changed and I still have transmission issues. When i purchased this car, a noise started to happen. I took it in and they said that noise is "normal" how is that normal is my question! I am soo disappointed in Hyundai. It was suppose to have been a smart purchase for us and it really was not. My car has been in the shop since November 5th, and today is November 17th. I am paying out of pocket for a rental because I had to look elsewhere for my own vehicle. It has been a headache to deal with this car. I am frustrated and fed up.

Hyundai Tucson 2016, please do not purchase

My car was services there from November 5th - November 30th. There is a noise that my car continues to make, even after every single "repair" Their first thoughts were the AC compressor. That got replaced and the noise did not go away. Then, they said the noise was coming from the transmission so here I go again, brand new transmission replaced almost twice in one year! I picked up my car, Monday November 30th, and by yesterday-December 1st, the noise continues. Seems like I have horrible luck with this 2016 Model and there is just no getting it right. I am currently pregnant and have 2 toddlers, and this car is definitely not feeling like a safe car for myself and my boys. I hate that I have had to put so much time, energy and money into this car, and I am never satisfied. This was supposed to have been a smart purchase for me and my husband, and it has been a complete headache. I do want to give huge HUGE thanks to Garek, my service consultant at the Hyundai in El Monte. He was so helpful and professional while dealing with my situation and understanding why this car is a huge problem for me. He helped me as much as he possibly could and went out of his way to try to keep me as informed. Obviously my bad luck of purchasing this car is not his fault. Garek is the only good thing that Hyundai has!
