We are VERY happy with our new Tucson..... BUT......
We are/were in the market to replace two older Hyundai models. We patiently waited for the new 2016 Tucson because we liked what we were hearing and seeing about the car and intended to buy two Tucson 1.6 Turbo AWD Limited models...IF we liked them after the test drives. So, we visited a dealer (they were great to deal with) and drove the new model and really were impressed. The car looks great, drives great, handles great and has a lot of great safety and trim options.
But, we were shocked and balked at buying two cars because in the Limited model, they do NOT INCLUDE a CD player in the supposed Hi-End Multi-Media system! We felt like we were being short-changed. Moreover, this does not interface with our lifestyle and our media needs in a car, as we have an extensive CD collection and also like to listen to books-on-tape when traveling. We know all about music streaming, which is a nice addition to the car's media capabilities, but the loss of the CD in a supposed high-end model, is really head-scratching trade-off-exclusion-substitution. Oddly enough, a CD is offered in EVERY OTHER Hyundai model. So, we pulled back on the buying process and bought a semi-base ECO 1.6T AWD model, which we like a lot.
Still we were set to buy two Limited models. So, we will be going to Chevy, Buick, Honda or Mazda to get a high-end model instead of buying the Tucson Limited.
We liked the Bluelink option, but it, too, is NOT available in the ECO model, which is too bad. It would also be nice to see a single sunroof offered in the Sport trim package.
We really wanted a luxury, fully-equipped Tucson and really are disappointed that we could not get the car we wanted, but, we are happy with the ECO, it is a good, nothing-fancy, all-purpose, base-model, great styling, VERY comfortable for tall people, drives well, MPG is great, the 1.6 turbo is a great engine and Hyundai has the best warranty in the world. Moreover, our experience with dependability and durability of Hyundai models is the best around.
