features are overwhelming do not know how anything works;.

I spent $40,000 on this Vehicle; don’t know how the features work; never received a follow up phone call or email, or letter from Elgin Hyundai even thanking me for the sale. I will commend Sycamore Hyundai as even after the sale they reached out to me and said if I needed anything do not hesitate to contact them. That is more than I received from the dealer I bought the car from. Not even a thank you letter. All other dealerships we bought cars from showed respect to their costumers. Check to see how many Hyundai’s we have purchased. This might be our last one after this experience.

Ten days sitting in the garage and the battery was dead.

We didn't use our 26 Tucson for 10 days and when we went out to drive it, the battery was dead. We finally got the battery charged using jumper cables enough to start it, but it took almost 2 hours using our 2018 Hyundai. My wife got on the internet on a Hyundai chat group and found this is happening all over the country because the new Hyundai's have so many electronic systems that are ON all the time that they drain the battery if not used for at least 30 minutes of driving every week. This is totally unacceptable! We travel a lot and the dealership said the solution is to leave a trickle charger on the Tucson if we're going to be away for a while. That means we can no longer leave our car at the airport if we're going to be gone for at least 10 days as we know it will be dead. We can leave our 2018 as it can be left a month and it will still start. We have disconnected some features to try to get by without a dead battery, but Hyundai has tried to add features without providing either a large enough battery or other mechanism to protect against being stranded. The Hybrid has a second battery that can be used to start the car, but the gas model does not have this feature. I would never have bought this car if I had known in advance how bad this engineering is. The safety features are good, but useless if the car cannot be driven and can not be depended on to be available.

Big mistake!

I am so disappointed in this vehicle. Wish I could have asked to take it home and drive it for a couple of days before I purchased it. I had a 2017 Hyundai Sante Fe and really liked it. I felt if I was ever in an accident, I would be protected by my car. Not the same feeling with this vehicle. I feel like I'm wrapped in aluminum foil and have no protection. The hood is so heavy to lift to check and/or fill the fluids and then I have to hold it with one hand until I get the rod to hold it up. That's going backwards. Didn't have that with the Sante Fe. If I was in a head on collision, I would be decapitated by that hood co ming at me. There are way too many bells and whistles and they are distracting. I'm trying to avoid potholes, and the car is telling me to pull over and take a break. The carpeting doesn't go all the way up to hide everything. There are way too many new things to learn about this vehicle. My Sante Fe had the trouble with the engine and had to be towed to the dealership 3 times. At that time, Hyundai should have replaced the engine for free. That was your problem and you made it mine. I couldn't depend on that vehicle to get my husband to out of town and out of state doctor appointments. He didn't feel like the vehicle was dependable on the interstate roads we had to travel. Imagine taking the on ramp on an interstate only to have the engine power down like it did 3 times. I'm sure the semis would just love to push me along. My husband and our son insisted I get a new vehicle. The Hyundai warranty seemed like the best so that's why I have another Hyundai and the fact that I was tired of car shopping. Do I like it? NO! Would I ever get another one? NO! Would I ever recommend Hyundai? NO! Bought it in November and have 1,900+ miles on it. Not many miles for a vehicle I've had for almost 5 months. It sits in the driveway most of the time. I don't even like driving it.
