People, even strangers, frequently ask about my "cool" Veloster
My 2012 non-turbo Veloster has been a fun car. My favorite feature is definitely the dual-clutch transmission. I simply marvel at the engineering. A few days ago I traded it for a new 2017 Tucson Limited with the Ultimate package. I'm already in love with it. I wish now that I had been more patient and waited for the Veloster turbo option. However, I never got into any situations with my non-turbo Veloster where I felt I needed more power. I had no difficulty in tight merging situations where I needed quick acceleration. In a really tight spot gearing down with the paddle shifters (or using the conventional shifter) is a piece of cake. My only beefs about the Veloster was the absence of a spare tire and some blind spot difficulties. I put a bit over 62,000 miles on it and never had issues. I had it serviced at the dealership faithfully at the regular service intervals. Parks Hyundai in Gainesville, Florida took good care of the car. In this review I indicated that I would recommend the Veloster to others. Since there is opportunity here I'd like to qualify that: I don't think it's suitable for an elder person or an overweight person who might have difficulty entering and exiting the vehicle and because of it's small size, I probably would not advise that it is suitable for a young, new driver. Full-disclosure = I am a 77-year-old male in good shape and the car for me has been a blast! I've even enjoyed it tremendously on long trips! It also maneuvers beautifully in tight situations especially where sudden avoidance is necessary.
