My Velo

New purchase, 2013 Turbo model. Love the look and styling, features and value. Power to weight ratio is good when you excellerate. Mpg is pretty good! Mine is personalized and holding up like a tank! Problem free. Dealership took care of the two recalls recently. Love the car!!

Exterior and performance.

I have likes and dislikes . Certain part of the exterior paint is fading and nothing I can do but to get a paint job . Car acceleration boggs at times . A friend told me that's because it's the turbo . Turbo can give alot of problems and very costly .

Great car but battery sucks!!

I love my Veloster. It's fun to drive, looks great and handles well. The issues with the battery are ridiculous and not something I feel I should had to pay a dime out of my pocket for. 2 batteries in 2 years is shameful!!

The Versatile Veloster

The 2013 Hyundai Veloster is a versatile driving machine. I take it everywhere for anything I need. Here in Dallas, you need a car that can handle the high speed of the highways and the nimbleness of city driving. My wife and I love the third door on the passenger side. It makes shopping easier with the simplified access to the back seat in addition to a spacious trunk. If you want to have a little driving fun, simply switch to the "manual" drive. You need to change gears with the stick on the floor, but there is no clutch to operate. Sporty, solid, and practical. What else could you want.

My sassy little Veloster.

I love the look of the car. It is the closest thing to a sports car that I will ever own. I often get comments about it from strangers. I appreciate the disguised 3rd door. No one can tell that it's really not a coupe. I wish the tires were a little bigger to give a little bit smoother ride. I am unsure of how to use the dual clutch feature. I manage some, but not to its full potential. I wish the dealer had given me a lesson when I first bought it. Visibility from the driver seat is not the best. I would buy a Veloster again. Mostly I love how it looks. (You can probably tell that I am a woman.)

Great and fun car!

Bought it new in 2013, it has been a great car. I had a few issues but my dealer took care of them and Hyundai took care of the cost for repair and the means to get it to my dealer.

Not bad

Not a bad car, have had it for 5 years now and it has had many problems and recalls over the years but it’s finally in good working order and it’s a nice car. Doesn’t fair well in the winter months with a lot of snow, it bottoms out very easy in heavy snow. Otherwise it’s a sexy car and I love driving with my windows down and music loud!

Long road

Veloster was purchased with anticipation of traveling from Georgia to Washington which happened. I need a reliable vehicle that was good on mileage and reliable. It provided both of these with few issues.

Loads of fun, good mileage, handles off road well.

Since there are two different velosters, this is for the base model. Don't get this model if you're looking for HP. this model is tuned for mileage which I can get up to 42mpg cruising at 65mph depending on terrain. I installed a K&N cold air intake to help it breathe better at higher altitudes since I live in western Colorado. It does have trouble like any 4 cylinder would above 7,000 ft so if you are living at higher elevations the turbo model should do fine. Believe it or not, off road capabilities are fantastic as long as ground clearance isn't an issue. I drove up a ski area access rd with no problems at all, now I'm driving in the desert and was able to navigate down a jeep rd and up a steep rocky part with no problems at all. Mind you do need experience for this type of driving, not recommended for beginner drivers because you need to learn driving lines for off road terrain. Cornering is smooth and responsive like a sports car, you don't need high performance tires for good traction, car is very well balanced and light weight. it is tight getting into back seats so if you're tall riding shotgun is fine. Overall, this is a great car if you need good mileage. If performance is what you want, get the turbo model.

2013 Veloster Base

Overall an ideal vehicle for my specific use. Excellent handling, low noise, high mpg and more cargo capability than would be expected for its body profile. One minor problem is the rear deck pillar causes an abnormally large 'blind spot' when backing up.

Great Car, Economical to Drive , Super Reliable

Comfortable ride, mechanically reliable, exceptional gas mileage, not to mention sporty looks: The Veloster has performed very well in the areas most important to me. Over 100K miles without major mechanical issues, getting 35-40 mpg consistently, the Veloster has provided me reliable transportation on my 40 mile + round trip to work daily. It's economy allows me to visit my out-of-state children regularly without going broke at the gas station. Though small in size, it remains a comfortable ride , even after 8 hours on the road. Throw on some snow tires, it handles like a champ in Buffalo snow. Unexpected cargo space: Fits a Christmas tree in the back with the seats down . I have been very happy with this car.

To many blind spots but other than that it is great. I love the ride it is smooth and fun. Twenty dollars in gas gets me about 290 miles.love dual clutch it's fun to use sometimes.third door is a nice feature. Great car

The veloster runs very well. Acceration is smooth and shifts smoothly through the gears. Handles positively and accurately. A very good automobile. That makes the driving experience a delight to look forward to each time I do.
