Veloster 2017

My Veloster is cool and sleek. I enjoy it’s uniqueness of having only three doors! I didn’t realize as my children were growing up I would need a bigger vehicle not a smaller car. This was a bad choice at this point for my family.

My 2 year review.

A lot of features for the price. Only downside is that my vehicle only has 24.000 miles and is falling apart. Not because of lack of maintenance, but because pieces are literary falling apart. The antenna cover, just flew off, the weather seals on the driver side door are leaking and the A-pillar cover on the passenger side was detached for no apparent reason.

Veloster performs well

I only have two issues concerning the Veloster. Firstly, I think the engine is a little undersized for this car. I had an Accent prior to this one, and I think the Accent ran better. However, the gas mileage more than makes up for it costing me on average about fifteen dollars a week! The dual clutch mechanism scares me when entering an intersection, because it will occasionally slip, and leave me in the middle of the opposing lane making a left turn with the engine roaring and going nowhere!! I have to give myself plenty of time to avoid oncoming traffic.I don't know if that can be adjusted. The second thing is the head clearance when entering the vehicle. I tend to hit my head, but that item I can get used to. I guess that overall, I like all the features of the Veloster, even with those few drawbacks. The radio is awesome, but, I don.t care to pay for for the Serious XM part because I.m not driving for any length of time.

Def need TURBO

Great little car, needs more get up amd go power and more safety features which i understand are in new 2018! Sunroof , leather, and more luxury are a must have in this great miileage little, " poor mans porsche". Mine is red, but Vita C color is off the chain hott!

The black carpet shows every bit of durt it is hard to keep clean....back window is blind spot..it’s a little sports car if I had to buy a different car I should had....trying to get people in and out of the car...trying to clean it with three doors, not the best....

The car is cute but I would not buy another because of the way that car jerks when you are driving sometimes. If it wasn’t for that I would recommend the vehicle. Had it checked out by the dealer but they say the car is ok

Two Issues.

I only have two issues about this car. The most annoying thing about the Veloster, is that the engine is too small for this car, considering its relatively small size. Occasionally, when trying to move from a dead stop, the transmission will slip, causing the car to stop in the middle of the intersection while the engine races. I have to let off of the gas to let the engine reengage. The benefit of this is of course the gas mileage, which is just great!!! The inside is comfortable enough, and I like the feel while driving. The second annoyance is the bumping your head when entering the car. Even with the large wheels, I still feel like i'm crawling in. Still, considering all of the other features, I still like the car.

GREAT LITTLE CAR,

THE QUALITY IS OUTSTANDING. THIS CAR HAS A PROBLEM RIVERSIDE CAN'T FIX, DRIVEABILITY IS HORRIBLE. WE WILL BE BRINGINC IT TO MORENO VALLEY FOR THEM TO CHECK OUT SOON. HOPEFULLY THEY CAN FIX IT. SEEMS LIKE IT IS RUNNING OUT OF GAS OR A MISFIRE. COMPUTER GOES INTO OPEN LOOP UNDER EXCELLERATION.

2016 Veloster

I do not like the slip differential transmission. Car will almost stop when idling up to a stop. He will also hesitate when you accelerate from a stop position. Once you are moving the cars performs well. Handles great.

It’s still a Hyundai

Good value for the money but you get what you pay for, the car comes with cheap economy tires, I recommend upgrading to better tires and proper winter tires for any cold regions. There are a lot of little things inside the car that are annoying like the rattles on the doors when listening to music, and the dashboard rattling while driving sometimes.

Fun car but issues are presenting themselves already and I haven't owned it that long.

Put the car in reverse the other day and it would not move. Put it in park then back in reverse and it went forward. Turned off car and restarted and have not had any issues sense. Then I had an issue turning at a light. Car would not go forward for a few seconds after entering the intersection. No issues with that sense. The car idles pretty heavy and sometimes lurches forward when first starting to drive. Also it is very low to the ground and the road noise is a little heavy. I will probably be taking it in for service if the issues continue. When running properly it is a fun car to drive, but I am not sure I would buy another one.

2016 veloster turbo

So 4 heater controls replaced and a weird idle two different dealerships serviced the car 1st one scratched the dash around the media center.they offered new winter maps and 4 free oil changes .so less then a year later heater control fails again new dealership more scratches. then again and one more time after now gouged up lower dash due to inexperience mechanic they tried to get some one to fix it and the company just melted it .i bought the car new and now not happy .but all other service they did they excelled at .

2016 Hyundai Veloster turbo

The engine it very good but the transmission is very terrible. It was never right since I bought it. All Hyundai would do is update the firmware even after it went out. Finally they put a new transmission in the car but I don't know if I trust it.

Runs great.

The car runs great. My only complaint is the body seems to be easily damaged. The paint chips easily. The car is really low to the ground which makes it look great but also makes it easy to scrape and makes for a rough ride. Otherwise a wonderful little car

Veloster

Honestly the looks are great on the vehicle, interior is nice with all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately the transmission and dual clutch transmission is extremely faulty and somewhat unreliable. Low gears are a bit torque and the high gears are weak. After the DCT update it has been acting a bit different and not in a good way. Seems like I’m having transmission problems and after a brand new clutch (it’s an automatic) and new cv joint , I’m still having the same issue. I am hoping Hyundai can fix this , really hoping my car is not a lemon

Fun car, poor drivetrain.

Car is a blast to drive, I could not complain at all about the driving experience aside from a sometimes rough ride; however, it is a small sporty hatchback so comfort is not its primary intention. Now, the drivetrain, mainly the engine is a very unreliable engine, the motor began knocking at 35k miles and by 48k miles it was due for a new engine because it slung a rod and there was a hole in the side of the block.

AC Burns out at 70k

The AC knob on my Veloster quit working and come to find out it’s because the plug behind the knob was fried due to poor connection and also come to find out I’m not the only one. Multiple people have had this issue and there is no recall or help available outside the original warranty. This problem usually doesn’t occur until well after the warranty is up. I feel there should have been a recall because of how many Velosters that this has happened to. After mine was discovered burnt I did research only to discover so many others. Please do your research on this part of the car. It’s costly. If u live in AZ it’s hot and AC is necessary. One day my AC stopped, thought it was the blower but after replacing the blower and messing with the knob I got it to blow briefly so we put the old blower back in and got it to work again by turning the knob fast back and forth. Then my AC was stuck on and I couldn’t turn it off. When we took the plastic outer shell off and looked behind the knob we found the fried plug-in. So beware! Research!

Unexpected Problems

Vehicle was working just fine up until the 98,000 mark, when I experience out of nowhere a warning oil pressure illumination light followed by my engine light noted on my dashboard. Which leads me to believe this is related to the recall from the manufacture regarding rod bearing engine failure notice I received months earlier. The signs of engine failure that was briefed in detail is what I experience. I have always kept up with my oil changes since I purchased my vehicle, so I know this is not caused by me.

A different kind of car

I have always had more sporty cars and manual transmissions. This is my first automatic and less sporty. It reminds me of a little SUV. It is a turbo and is powerful enough. I like it but it is different.
