Reliable automobile

Fuel efficiency, great reliability!! I would definitely recommend any hyundai to my friends. This is the third hyundai I've owned and neither car has ever left me stranded. Hyundai has come a long way. Keep up the good work Hyundai!!

2017 Veloster

Good on gas. Would prefer a turbo for acceleration especially from 1st to 2nd gear. Love the body design. Wouldn't hurt to provide more room inside for future models. Better suspension for a smoother ride over bumps. Automatic back hatch would be better than the manual lift (must have key in hand). Hatch button on key would be better.

Wanted To Give Five Stars

Great looking vehicle, nice 4 cylinder engine with dual clutch system that provides Sport Shift and manual paddle shifting. Excellent sound system with subwoofer with separate amplifier. The only reason I didn't give the 5 stars is because it broke down on me and had to have a $2000 warranty repair. Both catalytic converters were replaced and the exhaust system and muffler. Not sure why this happened but it was a major inconvenience.

A good overall vehicle

The car has a surprising amount of room for it's size. I am 6'4" and I actually have leg room and my legs also aren't hitting the steering wheel. The seats are also surprisingly comfortable. The rear seats fold down and there is a rubber mat that folds out to cover them which is nice when you need extra space. The car does lack in acceleration considering that it is advertised as being more sporty. I do wish the seat had an adjustable Lumbar support.

Clock

The clock in my Velostar quit working about a week ago. I was told when I went in for an oil change that Hyundai was aware of the problem. I really hope they rectify this soon. It is very aggravating not to have a working clock in my car.

Good Car

Like the car. Good gas mileage great handling. The transmission sucks. It has that ecomatic transmission which shifts poorly and jerks you around. Need to be careful getting on the highway because car has a tendency to hesitate

Terrible Dual Clutch Transmission

Great car except for the transmission. Slipping,Jerking,confused shifting,and Hyundai service people tell me that i dont understand how a transmission is supposed to work. After 40 + years of driving and working on transmissions and engines and cars in general i think i do understand. I doubt i will keep this car as long as i thought,i dont see the transmission lasting and i can see this coming-when the transmission gives out under warranty Hyundai will tell me it is a wear item that caused the transmission to die and is not covered by warranty-i can see this coming.With all the problems Hyundai has had with this Transmission i wish they would correct mine. Time will tell

Love this car!!!! Cute & Sporty. The interior is comfortable. The navigational system is spot on. The interior lights are perfect are night. I just wish the transmission didn't slip all the time.

Fun but sensible

This car looks small and sporty, so I still feel cool, even as a soccer mom. But, it actually has a decent amount of space in the front and trunk space is more than would be expected when you lay the back seats down. It handles well, and is fun to drive. The only complaint I have is that the backseat only seats two, due to the built in cup holder. It would be perfect with three seats in the back.

Great, but...

Dealership experience at purchase left a lot to be desired. An option on the sticker was omitted. When I asked about it, I was accused of lying. When the window sticker was reviewed, it was a dealer added option that was not installed prior to purchase. I never received an apology. I purchased Auto Butler. When I returned to the dealer to ask why I was not notified of my first six month appointment, I was accused of lying about purchasing the plan. The dealership checked, and they had neglected to register my plan with Auto Butler. My sales experience after purchase was below par. That is unless being called a liar by a car dealership is considered a positive.

The car is perfect, accept the acceleration, it jerks a lot. At times when I need the car to go and get out of the way, it will jerk, and take forever to accelerate. Also the head rest doesn't stay down when you lock it down.

Good economy car with looks

Great economy car for my long commute. Looks good, usable storage space, and good gas mileage. Only complaint was the engine is very weak when it comes to acceleration. Although expected, still disappointing. It’s a economy engine, so is what it is.

It’s a cute car

Although it’s a cute, stylish, unique little car (my main pick), and also is very good with gas. I wouldn’t buy it again because it is slow and feels unsafe, especially whenever I need to use the brake.

Good car for the price.you get what you pay for. It’s reliable and good fuel mileage. No resale value and not much power. No spare tire and the dealership gave me a bad battery. Rides rough but I didn’t buy a Mercedes...you get what you pay for.

Not what I expected

I thought when I test drove this car it would be a great investment and a fun car to drive. Visibility is not great. The blind spot when changing lanes makes me feel insecure. Frequent oil changes takes getting used to. Service was less than professional with my second oil change. I would not buy another Veloster. Sorry!

Sporty but not enough power

I purchased this car because of the way it looked. It is very sporty and very well-made. The downside is the 1.6 L engine does not have a lot of power. If I would have known that the non-turbo model was so under powered I probably would not have purchased it. I do a lot of freeway driving and it’s just not practical on the southern California freeways.

nice little car with regards to exterior styling and features and handling. But feels cheap inside with too much plastic all around and poor body quality. I would not buy this car again or recommend it to someone.
