Great SUV value

We purchased our 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL new in December, 2006. Overall it's a great SUV. Highway mileage at 70MPH is 26MPG (3 liter V6 engine with gobs of power!). Handling is excellent and the ride, while noisy at highway speeds, is very comfortable. In the soon-to-be 9 years we've owned it we only had 1 mechanical repair and Mitsubishi covered it 100% including coming to Friday Harbor (ferry required!) and giving us a free loaner vehicle. Mitsubishi flies below almost all radar screens and sells very few vehicles in the United States. That said we still have 1+ year left on our warranty; that's something very few manufacturers offer. Who is the most likely buyer for this vehicle. A college student or young family will find any well taken care of 2007-2014 (same models) a worthy purchase. I'd personally recommend the 6 cylinder model. Gas mileage is similar to the 4 cylinder and it's, IMHO, a way better power train. Try to find one with a leather interior and a sunroof. Price? At or around $10,000 should get you an excellent set of wheels. Consumers Reports fans will appreciate the Outlander has been on their recommended list for years.

Mitsubishi Outlander review

Let's face it. Mitsubishi isn't a well known vehicle name for most people in the USA. That said the company is the a lot like GE in the utUSA and/or Siemens in Germany. They're in a LOT of businesses and vehicle is just one. Not to be morbid but all those Japanese Zero's were Mitsubishi planes. Back to the vehicle segment. The Outlander is very well built. I can attest for the 3.0 V-6. It's got tons of power, a smooth 6-speed auto transmission with paddle shifters, and decent 26MPG at 70+MPH on the freeway on unleaded regular gas. The ride is comfortable and handling is excellent. The only complaint is that, especially at speeds, the highway noise level is very noticeable. The bottom line? If you enjoy driving what everyone else ISN'T then the Outlander makes a great choice. Add in its 10-year warranty and you'll be driving a great set of wheels!

Cindy's Outlander?

I love my car! It's not fancy; leather, telephone distractions, back up cameras for the blind, TV's for crummy kids, and expensive stupid stuff. It's a great car that is comfy, has a split gate, and gets me to my destination. Best of all? It's paid for and looks great! If the same car were to available, I'd buy it!

Mitsubishi Outlander review

The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander, and other years in that particular run (2007-2014) represent outstanding vehicles that are mostly overlooked by the motoring public. That's too bad because it's an outstanding vehicle: stylish even in 2016, comfortable, safe (according to those who test such things), and remarkably reliable. It offers a 3rd row of seats albeit it for little tykes. The V6 in our vehicle is very powerful and still delivers 26MPG on the highway. The all wheel drive works automatically. 10 years in (we purchased ours on December 31, 2006) it still looks and runs as new. Well maintained used Outlanders in this series can be purchased, fully equipped, for far less than comparable models from other manufacturers. I highly recommend looking at this series if you're in the market for a reliable, inexpensive, set of good looking wheels.
