Dont buy

This is by far the worst car I have ever bought in my life. I spend more money fixing it then it is worth. I have had to replace MAF sensor 3 times, throttle, batter 3 times, brakes 2 times, wheel bearings 2 times.. it only has 135,000 miles.

Not worth the money!

Cheap interior, mechanisms break, push button start not trustworthy. Drives well, though.

Faulty seat heating caught passenger seat on fire

Enjoyed driving the car until the seat heating on the passenger seat out of the blue caught on fire (we are a family of non-smokers ). Nissan America did nothing to fix the problem and did not offer to check the driver side seat for any possible electrical problems. Customer service was very poor and I now am unable to safely use seat heating on drivers side and have a big burn hole in passenger seat, which also had singed my sweater when it caught on fire. Would not buy a Nissan in the future since I'm now aware of several other instances where seat heating caught the whole car on fire.

Car is so so after 100000 miles

I have a 2012 Nissan Altima. Since I bought it I have been brining it for service to Hudson Nissan in North Charleston South Carolina. During my last few visits at Hudson Nissan for service they have not at all done right by me. With that being said I have found a new shop to go to. Thanks Greg

Stav away from this automatic transmission vehicle.

Last year the CVT on this vehicle had to be replaced. There is a class action lawsuit against Nissan as many of their CVT equipped vehicles have failed prematurely. For some reason the V6 Altima Coupes are not included. Replacing the transmission with a new one cost $5k and Nissan only warrants the replacement unit for only one year.

All around solid vehicle. Fun to drive.

A good looking fun to drive car. Only issues are the lack of top notch materials and manufacturing. The sun roof fell out and the driver side mirror collected moisture and signal stopped working (fixed under factory warranty). Now the passenger side is doing the same not covered under warranty anymore. Just over three years and less that 30k miles all four tires need to be replaced and the battery terminals are corroded (the car is parked in a garage nightly). Bluetooth is great but doesn't connect all the time.

I love my Nissan Altima

After having my car for almost a year I have grown to love it. The grill of the car looks kind of weird but that's probably one of the only things I dislike about the car. I have not had any mechanical problems thus far. There have been a few recalls on the car which have been taken care of promptly. I love the way the car rides as I do ALOT of driving and it is very good on gas. I do wish the stereo system was better quality but that is a minor thing. Overall I love the car, good gas mileage, smooth ride and very comfortable.

Impressive Reliability

I've had my 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5S for about 4-5 yrs. now and I haven't had any major problems. Normal wear and tear maintenance is the only thing I've had to experience. Great on MPG and roomy enough for my 6'4, 330lb. frame. The only drawback is that the engine should have more power for the 2.5S. I'm thinking about purchasing a pickup truck in the near future. Most likely it will be a Nissan, because of the dependability I've had with my Altima.

I have 35k on it. It is reliable with very little mechanical problems. Always use a good house for mechanical work. The only major flaw that I feel is the comfort of the driver and passenger seats. You are too low to the ground whereby you have to drop into the seat vs sliding in. The same holds true on exiting. You have to stand and push up to get out of the seat. The seats are not real comfortable when driving

Nissan coup

Great little car. Handles well. Not much of a back seat but we have a bigger car if we have passengers. I think you have to accept the space issue when you buy a car such as this. It’s a great get around car for someone who doesn’t drive a lot.

best compact car

I've been driving this car for three years. Usually it's time to switch cars... but not this one. No reason to spend money for new if I can still use this one :-) Regular maintenance and gas - this is my only expenses for Altima !!!

Altima after three years.

We still really like our Altima. I like the way it drives and the the way it fits me as the driver. So far it has only had routine maintenance and the dealer's service department has treated us well.

2007 to 2012 Nissan Altima best bodystyle ever

I live in LA (Louisiana for you illiterate people that don't know the difference between L.A. and LA). I previously bought a brand new Altima (2.5 SL) in 2008. I kept the car up until 2014 summer before selling it. I've always loved the bodystyle and NEVER had 1 problem with the engine, ride, transmission, windows, etc. Every vehicle I owned since I was 16, something went wrong; whether it was an ongoing leak on a Jeep to a fuel pump going on on a Lincoln LS. Some people have had bad experiences with these Altimas. Please do not let their reviews influence your decision!! Everyone drives differently and thus, don't take care of a car (diligently) as they should. This week, I purchased a used 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL in Kentucky that had 3,300 miles!!! What an awesome deal after hiring a pre-inspection from Auto Tech in Lexington (KY) that charged a great rate to thoroughly inspect the car. Whether you're a small bodied person, are tall (6' 2") or even a very hefty person, you will be comfortable in this car. I personally love a mid-to-large sedan that's roomy and fun to drive. Don't just take my word, take a test drive. The 4 cylinder CVT drives like a v8 when you require pick-up, switching lanes, etc. You'll be happy you made your choice. Keep in mind, if the car you seek is several hours away or even out of state, hire a qualified, very professional bodyshop to perform a detailed pre-inspection to save yourself a lot of time. You'll save lots of time and frustration AND MONEY!!!
