RAM 1500 Laramie

What a great truck--powerful, comfortable, dependable. We take the truck to Alaska every year and it handles the rough roads and provides a comfortable ride. We also tow our 6000b boat with it. The large cab space allows comfortable ride for our dogs as well as our gear. Powerful 4 wheel drive for our off-road trips. Would buy it again in an instant. The 8-speed transmission provides both power and economy.

110,000 and I need a new motor? Come on!!

I have meticulously stayed up on the maintenance on my vehicle to be completed by the dealership I purchased it from, BUT.... Cylinder 5 is failing and now I have metal shards in my engine. I googled it and it appears to be a problem with Rams. I figured out why they name it Ram- Cause your going to get the bill for an engine replacement Rammed up your A#$ after 80,000 miles....

Not so happy!

When I bought this truck the adds aid it would get around 28 mpg, it did when I first bought it, but then there were the emissions problems. The truck would not regenerate itself and so we started taking it in to get it fixed, 3 times it went in and every time it went in my gas mileage got worse. I now average between 17 and 18 mpg not to mention all of the recalls. There's a lot more to talk about but I think you get the idea. If I to do it again, I wouldn't!

My honest opinion...

I love my truck but you can tell they are cutting corners... 5.7 Hemi does not do 22 hwy. I average 16 MPG....! The all clad alloy wheels means that they are plastic wheel covers with a mixed alloy wheel underneath the plastic cover... The NO CD radio, C'mon... that is ridiculous!!! I have a 2014 Ram Big Horn and it is no better than the Ram Express I had prior! They are both 5.7 Hemi's, had the trailer package, 20 inch rims and in fact, my Big Horn which is like a 40 plus thousand dollar vehicle and has plastic wheels and NO CD player and my 2012 Express had a really nice CD stereo and real steel 20 inch rims...! And the Express wheels were really nice... Bottom line, I would never buy a Big Horn again... why pay a LOT more for less...!!!

Air Suspension is a deal breaker.

Good truck, but the air suspension is a deal breaker. Plagued with problems all across the U. S. and Canada, but FCA will not do a recall on it. If I had to do it over again, I would not purchase this truck specifically because of the air suspension. Quoted me $5k to repair it, and it was only the compressor and air lines.

Performance truck

This Ram Hemi 1500 is a performance truck which sets you up for added matinace. The cams go quite frequently which then damages the lifters. Even a tune up is expensive because of the 2 spark plugs per cylinder. I would rather have a basic reliable engine in this truck.

2014 Ram 1500 Express Review

I bought this Ram new in 2014. I had a 2001 Ram prior to this one. I've always liked the look and feel of the Ram trucks. The 2001 Ram was a "TRUCK". This one, not so much. This one has a much lighter frame, coil springs and can't handle a heavy load the way the 01 did. It's faster, rides better, handled better when not loaded, gets slightly better milage, but it's not a working mans truck. I have had some repair issues with it ($4000 worth to be exact) due to water leaks in the cab and engine compartment. The paint quality isn't good and the body or sheet metal can be dented by just leaning against it.

Too much stuff

I call this my space truck. It’s got every bell and whistle imaginable. It does everything except drive itself. The problem is, too much crap to break. It’s in the shop too much. This is not a rugged farm truck that will tow 20, 000 pounds

Dodge 1500

The truck is very nice I like it a lot. Got good comments from my friends. It's very strong as well HEMI power lol. It's great.

Four Stars

Overall it deserves a four star, handles smoothly and comfort level is great! But when turning it just doesnt have a good quality in dead end streets. But the side step, reverse camera, engine is functional.

2014 4x4 Ram

The work functionality combined with the power and luxury of the Laramie package is hard to beat. The biggest complaint is this Hemi suffers from the typically passenger broken exhaust manifold bolt causing an exhaust leak. Why Ram hasn’t addressed this common issue on a recall is ridiculous. I have owned three Rams and it has happened on all three of them. 2003, 2013 and 2015

Very safe for my children.

I love my Dodge ram 1500. Being so high up makes me feel much more safe driving around with my children. I feel it is very easy and fun to drive. If you take care of it, it will be a very solid vehicle for you.

Great truck, but the computer is buggy

I truly love the way this truck rides, handles and sips diesel. 23 MPG average, and I do a lot of city driving. It carries everything I need (I have a crew cab) and looks pretty too...inside and out. The only problems I've had are with the computer, and they have been significant when they happened (4 times now since 2014). I'll never take it to another dealership, because they have lost my respect. Scott's Automotive here in town is great and is able to fix the problems. So, I LOVE my truck, despite the computer!

Great truck but!

I love my Ram 1500 but there's one thing that really bothers me that Dodge sealed the transmission the fluids cannot be changed how can that be good for the transmission. I tried keeping my 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 in Tip-Top shape making sure that everything is taken care of but again the transmission bothers me I haven't had a problem with it but not to be able to change the transmission fluid. Why?

2014 Ram Two wheel drive Two door Big Horn

I like this truck a lot. I just turned 90k miles. I plan on keeping it for a quite a while. I have done some mods including cold air intake, dual exhausts and lowered the suspension. I have removed all the emblems and had it pinstriped by Dr. Ru.

2014 Ram Bighorn, Quad Cab ,Turb Diesel

Awesome Truck , Ill equipped for New York salt covered roads winter roads after all these years. The ties had to be replaced with more aggressive traction type, since the OEM ones floated. Chassis surface rust , I had to repaint after the 1st year.... I noticed corrosion under the sill plates too, which I had to clean, other than that , a well built truck.

I love the Hemi engine, not a lot of room in the cab. Very durable and tough. Great for hauling and pulling. Love the dual pipes, tow package and the mid size truck bed . Three different 4 wheel drive choices.
