2001 Toyota Echo

This has been a great car for me. Very reliable, great gas mileage and very little repair needed over my 16 years of ownership.

Awesome car??

Though I have only the basic model, absolutely no upgrades, this car is amazing. It's been through 2 high ??school students, 2 college ??students, Salt Lake City ❄️??☃winters and, like the Timex watch, it's still ticking and will for a long time or that's my hope. The only thing that I don't like but it too has its advantages, is that there is absolutely very little get up and go. Step on the gas and it is acceleration is not very good. That's because of the small? 1.5 liter, 4 cyl. engine. On the other side though, it gets almost 40 mpg on the road and about 28 to 32 in the city. How cool is that. And for a small car it has some room, at least in the front. I'm 6'8" and it's fun to see people look at me when I get out of the car. They wonder how I do it. Even one better, we have a 7'2" son that can drive it ?

The Best of All 2001 Toyota Parts Put into 1 car!

Toyota Echo 4-door sedan was a prototype for Toyota auto parts of that era. Later, the exceptional different auto parts were placed into many different models. As long as oil is changed on a regular basis and this older car is driven with care, I believe it may last forever- No problems with major components & comfort is exceptional with more head & leg room than other economy sized cars. Gas mileage has averaged 37 mpg.

Best value car I have owned.

This little car gets better gas mileage than most hybrids and I have over 300,000 miles on it. It has only ever needed routine maintenance. The only problem is that my kids are getting older and bigger so I need to get a larger vehicle. Otherwise, I would drive it until the wheels fell off.

Danger! Rusted through frame

Used car dealer sold us a TE with severely rusted out frame. They gladly returned our money and apologized. How can a car that averaged around 7k miles per year have such a terrible rust through problem? We could've been injured or killed if our mechanic didn't discover the problem.
