very competent transportation

We're VERY satisfied with our new Highlander after a 600 mile trip.My only nit pick is the right side blind spot when changing lanes in comparison with the new Honda PILOT. tHE hIGHLANDER SEEMS MORE CONECTED TO THE ROAD and noticeably more quiet while driving. lovely carriage. we're very satisfied with our purchase.

Our 1st Have highlander

Comming from a Ford Excursion Limited this is a Nice comfortable SUV worth the money, drives very nice, quiet, powerfull, reliable, very nice interior, keep bda wierd buzz when listening to stereo, we are still learning the electronics, ehich fo not apear user friendly, but watch out for wheels and cheesy covers.

Summary review

I am very satisfied with my Highlander EXCEPT the radio. Don't tell me that it's just the way it is for this type of car. The radio is below my expectations in quality of sound and HD quality.

Love my Highlander

I love my highlander for the comfort and ease when driving. It makes driving relaxing rather than stressful. I look forward to road trips where i can enjoy all the bells and whistles on my Highlander. It also does great in snow and slick conditions. The anti lock breaks mean no fish tailing. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is the somewhat low gas mileage and the factory tires did not last much beyond 20,000 miles. Even with that, my next vehicle will definitely be a highlander.

Low model Highlander

I purchased the lowest line of Highlander. Although I really like the car there are definitely differences i notice from the higher end model. Couple of the most noticeable to me are the "sound" of the doors.......They seem very light or empty. Also the carpet quality is cheap. But it is a very comfortable traveling car and has lots of pep!

Mature and taking hits from the competition

I drive different vehicles every week as a business traveler. This gives me a chance to evaluate the entire spectrum of competition from the Ford Explorer, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, Honda, Acura.... Toyota is falling behind in drivetrain and acceleration performance pretty quickly with 9 speed automatic GM product with 300+HP. Lack of Apple Car Play is another area of trouble as it’s simply a joke to try to use Entune. But—in the end, the Highlander is total product quality and reliability that drove me to the lot to buy one. I like my 2016 Highlander Limited and it’s a long-term keeper.

Reliable, luxurious but underpowered

Toyota builds a great product. Unfortunately so does the reset of the world and that’s going to bite Toyota in its hindquarters. When weight and size goes up, power is much needed to bridge the gap. Even the 2017 with direct injection and additional gears in the automatic, performance is only mid-pack. I also wish I could see better highway mileage but the frontal area and weight are just too much to ask for that. I’m getting 19.7 average and would like to see low 20’s but it just isn’t going to happen.

2016 Highlander

Excellent vehicle: acceleration is great, and the seats are comfortable. Plenty of room in the second row for two above average height teenagers. Third row is small though. My only gripe is with Entune, which doesn’t integrate well with my cell phone. I’ll probably swap out the radio.

My Highlander

LOVE THIS CAR! Great ride, roomy for my kids who will both be 6 feet tall. Gas mileage is passable, not great, but it's an SUV, so that's expected. Sturdily built, you feel like you're in a comfortable cocoon. The thing that’s a definite loss is the entertainment system. The navigation app looks old, and connecting my phone is not what one would expect from a vehicle in 2016. The wind noise at high speeds is annoying. Still, would I recommend this vehicle? Yes!

Great car for ski trips

This car has made annual trips from Seattle to Steamboat across the winter wasteland of Oregon, Idaho and Wyoming, plus annual trips to the Purcell Mountains in BC. With a good set of winter tires, it's unstoppable. The best part is that the steering gives good road feel, so that you know when things get slippery because the wheel feels very light! My main complaint is that the fuel economy is marginal compared to other vehicles I considered.

Smart luxury

This is by far the most luxurious vehicle I've owned. The Highlander Limited has all the bells and whistles. Soft touch leather and an impressive interior up front. All kinds of technology in this 2016 model. I get the feel of an SUV but the ride of a luxury sedan and great fuel economy. The seating for seven is essential and doesn't feel cramped. I love the captians chairs in the second row. Love. This. Ride!

Toyota Highlander

We like the Highlander. I debated between the Limited and the XLE. We decided on the XLE because there weren't that many differences in features that mattered to us. I was disappointed that it didn't have memory seat buttons for driver seat settings, but my wife drives the highlander most of the time and she doesn't mind that it doesn't have memory buttons. Absolutely love it!!

The 2016 is amazing! So refined over my 2013. Handles way better and styling is much more sporty The electronics are much improved in the Entune navigation and more user friendly. There is nothing I don't like about this vehicle- highly recommend
