Disappointed

Only 2,829 miles on my 2019 Volkswagen Atlas when a major engine issue occur and they had to basically replace that. 4,100 exact miles and the Active Cruise Control became deactivated and unusable durning a family road trip 1,300 miles one way away- mostly thruway where cruise control is mostly used for myself, but I was fortunate it did not cause any MPH issues like the first motor problem and I was able to drive there and back safely. During that time the tech features were also turned off by the vehicle and notified me on the driver information screen near the speedometer, again it did not cause me any drivability issues other than the “tech” features such as lame keep and rear cross traffic alert would be INOP. Once the vehicle was serviced and returned to me I am now hearing either a loose motor mount or a strut already went and is making noise. Disappointed after being excited getting it just 6 months ago. I will definitely not be purchasing this lease once it’s up and hope I can somehow get out of it sooner! Maybe it’s not all Atlas vehicles and I had the one bad one in the bunch. Who knows!

The only thing missing with the Atlas is the diesel.

Don't get me wrong, the V6 is plenty powerful and smooth, but I love the fuel efficiency and torquey drive of a VW diesel. I strongly feel it's a mistake to pull VW's diesels from the US market, we still want them, and we want 50 mpg! Are you listening VOLKSWAGEN? This is a very large country over here, we can't drive electric cars everywhere, in particular a vehicle like the Atlas, which for me is meant to have long legs, and go to far flung places. But, anyway back to reviewing the Atlas as it stands. It drives like a hot knife through butter; for it's size it's nimble as can be, and has very good power. Love the interior, exterior, and the trim package of the SE. If I could change one other thing about the SE Atlas it would be to give it the Fender Audio option as I love that sound (we have a TDI SEL Sportswagon with Fender Audio), but I didn't care for the other SEL options, just the Fender Audio was missing from the SE, which is otherwise an excellent trim package.

Love the car however part shortage is a true downfall!

Both my wife and I love the Atlas however after only 3 months of having it, we encountered the airbag warning light appear. We proceeded to take it back to VW and after 2 days of analyzing the issue, they stated that it was a faulty airbag module which needed to be replaced. The saga began when they went to order this module and found out that it was to take over 3 weeks to arrive! I have to say, it is pretty poor from VW to take over 3 weeks to deliver a part. But I must say the service personnel at Michael's of Bellevue are a credit to customer service.
