Zippy Shoebox

Nobody has ever made a better or more reliable ride. Cars peaked with this gem. This bad boy doesn't even require maintenance: 20 years of just turning the key and setting off. Good luck finding one for under $20k. Worth every cent.

Extremely poor reliability record

With the exception of good brake system, everything else is poorly engineered and need constant replacement. The transmission went bad and had to be repaired. The suspension system need replacement constantly and every repair job is between $500 and $1400. This my first VW and my last. Never again will I own VW or any German made cars. My Toyota Corolla is a 1000 times more reliable than my VW. Not surprised that VW is poorly rated in every survey I saw. Dealers repair charges are pure ripoff.
