2013 Jetta Sportwagen TDI

Turning in this vehicle to VW in favor of a new gasoline model 2016 Jetta. The TDI proved to be an extraordinary vehicle, but I felt the emissions issues were overdone and politically motivated. Given the current regulatory environment, owning the diesel going forward did not appear to be worth the potential hassle, even if emissions issues were to be mitigated.

Love my VW Jetta

We recently traveled from Wyoming to Pheonix and love how efficient the VW was on fuel and the comfort of our ride. This car has been a bonus to us since we travel a lot and do love to do long car rides. It not only is great on fuel (diesel) but quiet as well. Very comfortable and plenty of room for adventure gear.

Volkswagen Jetta

Great engineering and driving. Only thing is that the gas mileage decreases quite a bit after 20,000 miles. I wish they had all wheel drive and then the decreased gas mileage would be ore palatable.

Great car in spite of the bad publicity relative to the exhaust thing

I have a letter from the president and CEO of Volkswagen stating that the exhaust recall problem will be taken care of and their apologies, which I accept. My only complaint is something that Volkswagen has no control over -- hungry unethical attorneys from Texas. The Texas Attorneys are trying to get owners like me to sign on in a class action suit and Texas law states that if a class action suit is lost, that those people who signed on will have to pay their pro-rated share of the legal expenses. So, I feel that this is a scam when I get these mailings. I have full confidence that volkswagen will take care of the matter. Meanwhile, I love my car.

The Perfect Road Car

I've had my Jetta Sportwagen TDI for two years, and have 72,000 miles on it. I love the way the car handles all sorts of road conditions. Ideally it is perfect for paved roads. But I have taken it off road a few times, like through Monument Valley (UT/AZ) and back roads here in Wyoming, and performed very well. It isn't suited for 4X driven situations. But on maintained dirt or gravel roads, it is great. I will definitely consider another Sportwagen when it comes time to buy a new car.
