VW TDI Jetta

Bought used with 132000, now has 217000, tried and trusted, survived a deer hit in it, though I hit the deer square, the headlights still worked (they pointed up).

best car for age!

This diesel TDI Nurburgring Edition is the bomb! The first owner kept great care of it and is in mint condition with only a few cosmetic needs.

01 Jetta VR 6 Stick Wagon

I have owned this vehicle for 10 + years. I love the space for hauling stuff. However I love the VR 6 and 5 speed stick. It has fun pep and is very responsive. I wish I could get a new one today. P

2001 vw jetta glx vr6

Excellent vehicle when it is running right. I have many problems with this vehicle. Mostly engine related. The vehicle now has 163000 miles in purchased it with 109000, at 119000 I had to replace the engine. The timing chain has plastic tensioners one of those broke locking up the engine. This was caused by low oil quantity from the previous owner. Since then I have had numerous problem with replacement engine. After speaking to a Volkswagen technician he informed me that 1999-2001 were transition years for the vr6 engines. As for the rest of vehicle no issues. Would recommend the vehicle outside of this year range. Excellent performance when running properly.

Torn

I love my diesel Jetta. I am thinking of buying a new car - just because, but my 2001 is running like a top now and has always been reliable. The gas milage is great. And it is a manual!! What to do - buy a new one or stick with my old love?
