2016 VW Passat

It’s smooth driving and is great for a family car. Roomy in the front and back seats and the trunk as well. Unfortunately the high mileage have proven to be a nightmare having kids. With a leak into the engine and it being normalized and told it might not be fixed. You should be able to keep a car running for years.

Love my car

The turbo feature has become an issue with oil usage. No obvious oil leaks or smell of oil burning but using a quart every gas fill up is a bit much snd no reason found for it. Google search shows an apparent issue with the turbo charged Passats. Car runs well and is very comfortable on long drives. Hate to get rid of my car for oil usage. ?

A- car I hope to keep for 10 years

This is my third VW over the last 20 years. It's the best of the 3 as far as repairs go. Nothing has gone wrong for 80,000 miles. The 2001 Passat and the 2011 Jetta diesel were better cars, (better handling, brakes, interior, etc) although I had way more repairs with those two.

Eats oil

Have 100k miles on this car, so its paid for itself. Hasn't needed a great deal of work other than changing the oil and new tires. Suspension drags in the rear a bit. The biggest problem I've had is that after 70k miles this car began eating oil, not leaking, and I don't know where its going, but needs a quart every 2-3wks. Looked into it and it seems to be a common problem with the Passat. Crazy.

VW Passat SE tech package

Solid highway cruiser with very comfortable front seating. Rear seat behind a front seat set all the way back, still allows my 6ft 250lb self a full 5 inches between my knees and the back of the front seat. Great sense of room. Great highway mpg of ~35-40 depending on speed (75-80) and elevation change.

Great value car

Tough to beat the styling, quality, and comfort of this Passat for the cost. VW delivers a solid product that I would purchase again. Handles well and looks great. Plenty of leg room and comfort, large trunk space. Suspension could be improved, but not a deal killer.
