I bought an old Tahoe last year, it was solid, but rough, being a retired border patrol 4x4.
st, they got all the internal parts for the back doors—- I was surprised they were gutted for it’s service life— and the truck had a lot of rust on the undercarriage.
Emanuel and his crew got the doors and windows working and as they have experience with restoration work, had a treatment for the rust.
That was February. Now, it’s late June and hitting well over 100 in the desert—- the AC,,,,,, well, it was not very cold at all—- also, I’d had Emanuel order a center console— another item the border patrol folks removed.
So, this was my 2nd visit to Lamont Auto ( at a friend’s recommendation ) and I was even more impressed with the work there then before. ( which, I was already pleased with them )
I was worried because it was 4th of July weekend and I’d rented a car for this service, and timed it with a work project in Bakersfield.
I arrived at about noon, the console is perfect and the AC is blowing ice cold- Emanuel found a slow Freon leak, he serviced all the AC gizmos, filled the Freon and I’m good to go—- an unscrupulous mechanic could easily have said I needed a new compressor or something and taken advantage of me.
I give my highest recommendation for Lamont Auto, even though they are out of the way, it’s worth it-even with todays gas prices— it’s worth the drive to Lamont, for good work from a shop I trust.
