No regrets! First electric vehicle

The ride is wonderful- that was one of my top priorities in purchasing a new car. The electric is icing on the top. We’ve got it docked to the house.

Creaking back panel

The vehicle technology is great. But we have been experiencing a creaking noise in the rear of the vehicle since we picked it up, we’ve had it replaced, and the service has been phenomenal, but the issue still remains. Maybe because the vehicle is a new vehicle from 2026 and so this first generation may have some kinks but it is disappointing.

great car but has some electronic issues

Often the car has glitches. Some of these are: won't start easily with digital key, the car is already in the shop for the sunroof getting stuck open, it doesn't go into neutral very well in car washes, I cannot have more than two with digital keys. its just not amazing for the price we paid.

A few flaws from the start

Soon after receiving the vehicle, I noticed that the rear tires seemed... odd. In fact, they were way out of alignment/camber, although I wasn't sure. We scheduled service a couple of months later, and they had a struggle to align it. They blamed some heavy items in the cargo area, but once it was "aligned" using a jack stand, it still doesn't seem right. They promised to contact Hyundai about replacing the rear tires, which already show irregular wear after 4000 miles. I have heard nothing back since. There are multiple driver profiles allowed. But setting just two doesn't seem to work. My Apple CarPlay would consistently erase my wife's Android Auto connection, and vice versa. And of course the profile-linked seat positioning that the salesman told us about is disabled in the software of this trim level. Pretty annoying for a very expensive car.

Ioniq 9 is Awesome!

As a former Tesla Y Performance owner thru a lease, the Ioniq 9 crushes the Y. Tesla has a good self driving system compared to this car, until the Tesla system has a hiccup. You better be ready! If you are a normal driver that actually knows how to drive a car, and likes steady driver assistance features, this vehicle is for you. I am using the Ioniq 9 in a home technology services business, to carry parts and supplies to my technicians and make sales calls. This vehicle has excelled at both city and highway driving. The feature set puts Tesla to shame. Also the fit and finish is so much better than Tesla. For example, Tesla only offers heated seats at a similar price point. These seats in the limited are heated and cooled, plus fully recline and have a foot rest. Great for using as a mobile office between appointments!

Surprisingly Amazing

I have to say, it is not the most beautiful vehicle. However, it is quiet, fast, comfortable, and so far reliable. I love every feature, I love the space. I love that it has road presence and Is not a dime a dozen.

The Ioniq 9 Experience

I haven’t enjoyed driving like this since I gave up my 5-speed manual transmission Toyota more than 30 years ago when I met my wife who wouldn’t drive a stick. Now, I have the best of both worlds with an automatic transmission and one pedal driving that gives me so much control without having to constantly reach for the brake. Here in Pennsylvania there are narrow winding mountain roads driving downhill is an experience, especially when you check the console and see that you’re also charging your battery. Acceleration is outstanding especially in highways with short ramps and handling is solid and sure.

IONIQ Experience

The ownership experience started off a bit rocky, as the vehicle spent nearly two months in the shop due to software issues affecting the charging system. This followed a similar problem with my previous IONIQ 5, which Hyundai ultimately bought back because the issue couldn’t be resolved—hence my decision to give the brand another try with the IONIQ 9. I was compensated, but the time spent without a functioning vehicle made the situation challenging, especially while still making monthly payments. Fast‑forward about a year after the repair, and the car has been performing wonderfully. The improvement has been noticeable, and I’ve grown to genuinely appreciate the thoughtful convenience features and overall usability built into the vehicle. It’s been a much smoother and more enjoyable experience since then. Too be continued...

We purchased over 12 Hyundai vehicles in the past several years not including referring several others who purchased vehicles as well. We would not have done this if they weren’t great vehicles. We have had several Sonata’s, Santa Fe’s, Elantra’s, Palisades, Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9.

Comfortable vehicle, charges fast, cruise control is lacking.

The car is very comfortable, lots of space, seems well built. It charges a _lot_ faster than my Tesla. The cruise control is unusable. Constant worry about the ICCU.
