Big Jim's was recommended to me by a close friend that I trust. His mechanics know what they're doing and I feel they did the work correctly. I've driven my car several days and for as far as they dug into the motor, I'm surprised some little thing has cropped up. They also did the work quickly. Not saying they're the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for. I've tried to go"cheap" and have gotten poor results. The only reason I gave 4 stars is they charged me 167 dollars for an exhaust manifold and gasket set that I could've purchased for 70 dollars, but was told that's the status quo for mechanics. They don't like it if you purchase your own parts and will charge you extra for the labor if you do this. They probably want to buy the parts that they feel will perform well. It was just hard to take a 2900 dollar bill on a car that's only worth 2000 dollars, but what do you do? Another thing. I was kind of "venting" to Jim and he just listened and reasoned and we're all good! Liz is a sweetheart too!
