We at California Smog Plus are not sure exactly you consider an over sell. You simpl;y came in for a Brake and Lamp inspection on your salvage vechile and we just did that and told you what was wrong .The state of California requirments are very straight forward . A salvage vechile such as yours need to meet the same standards as any other vechile in order to receive a brake and lamp certificate .Having brake pads worn below minimum thickness,a broken tail light,no reverse lights such as in your case are all repairs that need to be performed before certificates can be issued.
In your opinion if you think these miniuim requirements are over selling than we may as well just take your money and hand you a brake and lamp cerificate. Even though it would be faster and easy money . it would be breaking the law and doing a disservice to you and every body that shares the same road with you. In our office you had mentioned that you have a mechanic that can do the repairs a lot cheaper ,Well we at California Smog plus do not have a problem with you saving money however we do have a problem with issuing certificates for vechile's that are not road worthy. Issing certicates for salvage and wrecked vechiles like yours without proper repairs in not only wrong but lieing to the DMV that this vechile in our proffessional opinion is safe to share the road with our families.We are sorry that the mininum repairs on your salavage vechile is an over sell ,but as a vechile owner and driver you can not accept everyone on the road to be ok with an unsafe vechile on the road with them just because you dont want to fix it .
