Brake Controller Issue
I recently moved from Colorado to the area and needed a new mechanic to service my 08’ duramax diesel. I originally went to another repair shop, telling them I had a small fuel leak, and a brake controller issue. There response was to replace the whole steel fuel line, supply and return, and a new controller for well over $1000, with labor and parts. I decided to get a second opinion.

When I arrived at Elite, I told them that I needed to leave town with my truck in a few days. I had an issue where it showed a trailer attached when there wasn’t one attached and then also showed voltage for the brakes being applied., along with a small fuel leak. After diagnosing, they found my brake switch was going bad, and my brake controller was not working correctly. So they let me borrow a time-delayed brake controller off of there shelf, knowing that I would replace my proportional one when I got back into town, for no cost to me, which I was blown away by the gesture. The fuel leak was fixed by tightening a clamp. They diagnosed it easily for 1-2 hrs. They didn’t charge me to tighten the fuel clamp. At the end of it, they only charged me an hour plus the part.

Moving from Colorado where they charge $185/hr to Indiana at $125/hr, plus there great customer service, I have found where I’ll take my truck plus my other vehicles. They are honest, try to find the real problem and then repair it at a great deal.
